Had a fun day, glad I put the sun cream and hat on, as the sun has only just behind the clouds. It was a relaxing day as the instructor was one of the more laid back ones and didn't feel the need to make us go on a hike. We cooked sweet potato curry and it was lovely. I have some for lunch tomorrow too. We can home with ingredients for 5 main meals and a few extra bits as one of the families didn't turn up. Such a good activity to take part in. Off to have a shower as soon as the water has warmed up as I smell of camp fire.
The skating people confirmed that they have skates big enough for DS which is great. DD1 has arrived home and has had a lovely time and is happily enjoying the space of her room alone, while at the same time as missing her friends.
DD2 just reminded me that she has band tonight - totally forgot about that. Best get some dinner sortedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Just paid the final bill for the bathroom and while it has emptied one of the savings accounts, that is fine as that was the purpose of me saving.
Had a nice evening as one of DD1's friends came round for a chat. He couldn't believe how open she was with me as they don't have that sort of relationship with their parents. Sometimes I feel she over shares a little, but I would much rather that than her not feeling that she could talk to me.
My best friend also popped over for an hour earlier as had a little time to spare. Was lovely to catch upMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Up early to drop DD1's car off at the garage. She has something wrong with the breaks so that should be sorted by the end of the day. She has a pot of money for her car so hopefully wont leave her short.
Not much else going on today. DD2 is meeting her friend at lunchtime for a walk, but that is it. No clubs to remember tonight.
Going to check the budget again, make some lists and get ready for next weeks holiday. Might make a batch of pizza dough to take with us for the first night there. Will pop it in the freezer until Monday morning when we leave. That way it will have defrosted by the time we need to eat.
Might pop over to the competition page and see what I can enter. Maybe we can win something fun to do / something nice to eat / some extra money - Who knows

DD1's car is still at the garage, as it needs more work than expected. She isnt happy the car will cost even more money, but that's life.
I've been to my aqua aerobics and feel energised. I was last night too and blitzed the house, all apart from the kitchen which I need to try to sort today. Had a load of washing on the line this morning and glad it dried as it looks like rain now.
I have done a number of surveys today but still waiting for one £12 to be ready to cash out. Yesterday I entered a lot of competitions so you never know lol.
Kids have requested sausage and mash now the clouds have come over. Not sure that it is really mash weather, but we have everything we need so I guess that is what we are having.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Just been to collect the car from the garage - all breaks looked at and checked. DD1 now has £2 in her bank account and no wages this week due to her weekend away. Maybe the trip to the hairdressers wasn't worth the money! Anyway she has her freedom back again until her petrol gets too low.
Today DD2 had her library session and todays workshop was about writing poetry. She had fun and was amused all day while I took DS shopping for clothes (with DD1 as she needed to approve all that was bought). We only managed 3 t-shirts, he still needs a hoodie or 2 but nothing that he liked. All the t-shirts were cheap so in total we only spent £16 which I will move from the clothing budget. DD1 also chose a bag for her birthday so will move that money too, and I bought DD2's school shoes which she has tried on and they fit. Quite a successful trip out and minimal spends, all of which are accounted for in one pot or the other.
We are off to badminton club very shortly and need to squeeze dinner in first.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

We are off on a little drive today as the kids are going ice skating. We will pop by and get Grandad as it was his treat. We will then head off - think its about 45 to 60 min away. I am expecting Grandad to treat us to lunch as that is normally the way on trips like this. We will take drinks and a snack to keep us going mid skate.
Last night at badminton there were very few people attending, which made it tough to enjoy. DS was the only person in the older session so I went and had a game with him. Really not sure how much longer it will limp along for. Shame as DS especially enjoys it, and he has asked if it stops will we look for another club - said we would. It is not often he is enthusiastic about something, especially exercise.
Money is feeling tight. When DD1's car looked like it may cost quite a bit, I was trying to see if I could help, but realistically there is not much money in the pots to cover it. I need to work on putting more into my emergency pot. I am a little nervous about this coming few months until I know what is actually coming in, and get used to it.
Once home I need to make sure all clothes for the holiday are washed and dried so we can start packing the bits on my list. DD1 has invited BF over the night before we go otherwise they will not see each other for a while (he is currently on holiday) so will be trying to get organised while having someone else here. Sure it will be fineMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I think you're doing a great job teaching your DD about finances and things that could potentially go wrong with an older car and usually do- and letting her figure it out on her own. At least she's doing this whilst at home, with a roof over her head, bills paid and food in her tummy. Imagine if she had her own place and it went wrong and no EF. Perhaps a brill time to reiterate the need for savings funds and a good budget 😊

Thank you DFW, I hope that she has seen the sense in saving.
Had fun at ice skating and then burger king. We also popped into the really big Tesco on the way home and got the remaining school bits that were needed, so think that is all finished now. Unfortunately the photo machine wasn't working so couldn't get DS's picture for his driving licence application.
I am feeling quite sleepy now though but have a few more bits to get sorted before I can sit down for the evening. Driving on the main roads and when I am not entirely sure where I am going, always wears me out, but at least I can now do it. DS had a snooze in the car on the way home and I could just drift off right now lol.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Right today I must not sit on sofa doing nothing as lots to do
* Washing
* Packing
* DS homework
* House cleaned
* Sort fridge out - anything not likely to be used can go in freezer
* Check brother still ok to feed cats and knows where his key is
DD1 has work and DD2 has volunteering for an hour. I deliver her and she will walk home. First load of washing has just finished so will peg out once DD2 has been delivered to the library.

Having a little sit down and drink before tackling the still very large list left.
* Washing - in progress - done several loads but more to go.
* Packing - also in progress as need the washing before I can finish
* DS homework - completed at long last - much harder work than it should have been - glad it is sent
* House cleaned - getting there
* Sort fridge out - anything not likely to be used can go in freezer - also getting there - frozen some peppers and encouraging yoghurt eating
* Check brother still ok to feed cats and knows where his key is - All ok
I have also managed to get to the local charity place that sells unwanted clothes for you and take a bit for themselves. At the moment there is no waiting list for school uniform, so all of DS's logo'd bits were delivered today - some still with labels on as DS refused to wear a jumper for the past 2 years. I also had some money from sold items to collect, that will go into the holiday pot £10.22.
The pizza dough that I was supposed to make the other day to take with us is also now in the bread maker. I will freeze it until Monday morning, so that by the time we need it, it will have defrosted and we can have pizzas the first night.
Still lots more to do looking at the list. Best get back to itMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
