I managed to get a couple of aubergines on Thursday @Hild0 from Mr Ts but they were 75p each and not very big - I would normally have only need one of the usual sized ones! I'm making a butternut squash and auberine tagine for dinner tonight - a new to me recipe so hoping it's OK.

Florenceem said:Really trying hard to be low spend this week. Just 50p on shopping today - demi baguette for lunch filled with gammon from an al.. joint - cheaper than buying packaged cold meat.
I realised they're not exactly the same beast (yours is probably thicker and shorter), but the price difference would swing it for me.

Hi all,
The spends feel like they are coming thick and fast at the minute. Spent £8.69 in T0sco after work today. Mainly on cat food but treated myself to some Diet Peps1 and some rubicon spring as they were free/50p using Shopmium. Will add the money back in once it’s in the account. Picked some tiger bread and oven bottom muffins up from an Olio fwh too! Total spend £67.88/£200 but hopefully won’t need anything much til the weekend!
I’m feeling a bit frugal, made a couple of gorgeous soups over the last week or so using the last of the new year ham and sad veg/store cupboard items. 😋. I’m now waiting for a giant vat of (reduced) Turkey mince and lentil chilli to cook a bit. Bit of an experiment but It should do at least 4 meals for us for about £3 in total.Vicky xGrocery challenge:December 2022 £151.96/£400 . Advent decluttering challenge 47/240.7 -
@Hild0 try copying and pasting this. It’s the only way I can make it work, if I try to type it in it says no!

Morning all, spends now at £84.34/£360, had to go out for another small shop on Sunday, as had parents coming for tea, so that ended up with £24.58 spent in A5da, also had to top up fridge, as with kids being at home more, they are going through supplies fast! Off to try and work out how to do a signature!Grocery Challenge Jan 21 - £86.15/£3605

Hild0 said:Top-up shops today in L1dl £5.93, Mozzers £6.16 and a local shop £2.65. This should do me until the weekend. Couldn't find an aubergine anywhere for my crispy aubergine dhal recipe. Think it must be Brexit supply chains.
Taking a rucksack with me is absolutely fine it turns out, so no need for the extra expense of a shopping trolley.
Using Monzo app and a spreadsheet to monitor my grocery spend. I'm embarassed at how big it was in the before times.
Tried to add red colour to my signature with and , but it didn't work.
- as others have said previously - fine in your signature but not in the thread comments
