#27 - reporting £3,309.18 for January
Slightly bigger amount than what I would normally save as this includes a bonus I received this month from work, I was in two minds on whether to sacrifice the bonus into my pension or not, but in the end I sacrificed about 85% of the bonus to my pension. I have decided not to include the bonus sacrifice (essentially a big AVC payment) in this challenge as it really was a one-off event which I know will not happen again in the future, well very unlikely to happen again!
Highlights this month include;- Opened up my first ever S&S LISA, this is very much to act as an additional side pot to my main pension.
- Contributed some new money to S&S ISA, my US equity is slightly underweight its target within the portfolio so I bought some US stocks with that new money. (Not GameStop!!!)
- Nothing else to report, regular savers ticking along as expected and have emptied any cash in all instant/easy access savings account.
Happy saving all, fantastic to see so many savers in this years challenge!"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

Thank you3 -
#40 reporting £2476.96 for January
Breakdown as follows:- ISA with Interactive Investor: £2000
- General acc with Vanguard: £200
- Regular saver with Principality BS: £250
- Tax relief paid into OpenMoney pension: £25
- 'Save the Change': £1.96
I'm just about to update the sheet, I may have managed to save nearly 50% of my target already but this was a very unusual month for me. Thanks again slowlyfading for running the thread, I'll be sure to check out your blog/YT for how much dividend income you've managed to get for the month
Roll on February, happy saving everyone!1 -
#21 reporting £1,967.83 for January. My freelance contract is coming to an end that I do on top of my full time job so only a couple months left of payments to receive for this then I’ll have to pick up my other side hustle more to try make up some of the lost earnings unless I can pick up another contract sometime. It’s been a great boost to my savings for the last year though. I’ll try ask work for a pay review too as it’s been over a year since my last one and the boss seems to never offer unless asked so I’ll have to try my luck again. Form updated1

A modest start to the year with £500 saved.

Starting January off strongly, £2.250 saved even though it's turned out to be a costly month. Too many outgoings than incomings ha-ha!
