Starting off well (for me) boosted by xmas money and reclaiming over paid utilities. Total of £1269.68 for January (update sheet filled in).
Shouldn't think we'll match that in Feb, but the bar is now set!2 -
#69 checking in for the first time with a total for January of £1834.40. Really pleased as it was about 60% of my income for the month- helped by lockdown, self isolating, and generally cutting down on spending (and avoiding the January sales.)
It is split into 2 ‘pots’ spread over several accounts. One for my son who wants to train to be a pilot ( ‘only’ about £100k 😳), and the other for me to hopefully give up teaching in 3 or 4 years time.
So it’s £958.32 for flight training, £876.08 for early retirement.Save £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.812 -
34 checking in with £1137.16 for January. I've changed what I'm doing for this year and including net contributions to my SIPP as with the new job, far more is going in that direction than previously.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Last year I recorded my savings as an increase (or decrease) in cash balance.
This month (partly due to some unpaid wages) my cash balance has only increased by £9.11. I still put money into various savings accounts and I made my first investment into an S&S ISA of £500 (which is now only worth £480).
I think I'll carry on using my balance change as 'savings' which means sadly for January I have only managed to 'save' £9.11Debt Free: 01/01/2020

#26 reporting in with £864.80 for January. One of our RS accounts matures in February but as I have already counted the monthly contributions it will only include the interest (it was a 5% so cash increase will be a smidge over 2.5%)

Reporting a good month for me, I managed to save £1533.89!! This is a bit higher than I would normally be able to save, due a few different reasons, lockdown, so I am spending less, time off from work, so I saved on fuel and I had some money from a friend who had been staying over.
Going to have a read through the comments later to see how everyone else is getting on.1 -
