2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

Sold a dining chair and a bedside table today. Both things I had bought cheaply and basically just cleaned them up and used them for a while. I love rescuing old unloved furniture. As well as pallets in stages of being dismantled I also have some old oak drawers waiting for attention in the kitchen. I sell things cheaply as I enjoy renovating and they leave for a new home often within a couple of hours of listing.
I have been given a new bedside table which matches some drawers I already have. The furniture in the smallest bedroom is safe for a while. I am happy with the way it looks for the time being! The other spare room is not safe though! DD2 is planning a house move and has laid claim to some of the furniture. Great for me I love constant change. Like playing with a dolls house but poor old Mr V has to lug around all my bargains.

Thank you so much for my gold stars Mrs SD, much appreciated.
I'm honoured that you've decided to try my cleaning routine. Today I was wondering if I was trying to tackle too much but I'm happy with what I've done, although it took a lot of the day after doing my daily tasks as well.
My main area for today was my bedroom and ensuite, and as well as giving it a thorough clean, changing streets etc, I also did my dressing table drawers and one cupboard even though I'd tidied them the previous week. This time I managed to get rid of a few things.
Coconut oil - I thought I'd use this for my skin...I obviously didn't, as it was dated 2009!
2 small toothpastes - these had gone hard.
OOD bottle of nail rescueOOD bottle of hard as nailsOOD hydrocortisone cream3 OOD stick antiperspirants - I've still two unopened. I only use these on holiday and they should be used within 12 months, so not used in 2020. (If you're curious as to why I use them on holiday, it's because I use them under my boobs to stop sweating, as due to getting damp with swimming and sweating, they can get sore and painful)
OOD tube of arnica cream for bruises. I've had really bad bruises on my leg twice in a year and not once did I remember I had this cream, dated 2013.
A half empty bottle of body lotion.
15 other miscellaneous papers and bits from around the house since I last posted. I'll put a count up next time.
I also did a toiletries inventory which took ages. I've told my family not to buy any toiletries for my December birthday and Christmases, I've so much to use up. I suggested vouchers for books or DVDs, but no one listened. I didn't get toiletries, but some things I got can only be filed under 'stuff' and I wouldn't have bought them in a million years. It's as if they don't know me at all.
Good luck to the newbies on here, you will love it. So much support and ideas. I'm so glad to be back. Not Rachmaninov

Great work vulpix 👏 So nice to have a friend with a different skill set 🙂 When this situation is all over & Br*x*t kicks in fully, I think we will all be bartering services 😉 & that is when we find out that our neighbours can knit lentils or repair cars & they hate/cannot sew or iron 😉 You are also doing really well on the lbs lost 👏 Wow to the up-cycling aka renovating of furniture & pallets vulpix 🤩 A great hobby - useful & cost effective 🙂👏 Well done to MrV for his furniture moving skills 😉
Excellent work 2Scatters 👏 You were correct first time - Steady Progress 😉 Don’t forget to stop and admire your clear & tidy spaces/rooms 🙂 Absolutely you can count properly recycled items regardless of where they came from originally 😉

Hello Frogletina and all
It's my birthday today and I am going to make a confession which MIGHT make me sound pretty awful but here goes. I knew what I wanted for my birthday so when OH went shopping with me last night I asked him to buy it. I am now the proud owner of 2 bunches of purpley white tulips. They are on the kitchen window sill and I know they are going to bring me at least a week of joy. He was looking at a bigger bunch of mixed flowers but I loved the tulips which were 4 pounds less at £6.00 for 2 bunches. I achieved my goal as I can buy flowers for others (and often do) but find it hard to buy them for myself.
Many moons ago I had a group of friends that used to make Christmas and birthdays a great experience. One of the group was candid enough to ask for vouchers at Christmas as shopping in the January sales was her idea of a perfect present. And as she put it she could buy what she really wanted. We baulked at first, as it didn't seem personal enough, but when we saw how she stretched those vouchers we were always in awe. So what we had bought her were sometimes multiple presents, her idea of heaven (shopping in the sales), and what she really wanted. Frogletina, could you try this ?
I wish I had something to report but I don't. For the last few months I have been at times light headed/dizzy. My birthday present to myself is to get an emergency telephone consultation with the doctor as these last few weeks have been awful. I think it's my blood pressure.
Have a fabulous day
Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me-heeeee......la la la.........happy birthday to me !

Belated happy birthday wishes Bala, your flowers sound lovely.
I decluttered 2 leeks and half a red onion into soup yesterday, with some spuds, it was enough for two of us. Also, some more books went into the charity bag, so I'm plodding on in a small way.11 -
Happy Birthday, @balabooberlies hope you have a lovely day, the best you can in these trying times.
Need to get my mojo back, seem to have backslid since the parrot arrived.
Will get into spare bedroom and re-sort into piles, problem is I don`t think there is anything to get rid of, walked up the town last week and all the charity shops are closed, so will shuffle stuff about and see how I do, I will be decluttering the dust that seems to have suddenly accumulated on the hall skirting boards.Do I need it or just want it.10
