EnergyShifter said:Thanks for lovely comments about my new desk / office space - It really is a pleasure to work in there now - and the bonus is it's easy to keep warm as it's a really small space.
kat360 - sorry to hear that you are going through such a challenging time - so pleased you have joined us.
balabooberlies - Has your laptop started behaving itself? If not, could you try it with a new keyboard - a lot cheaper than a new laptop.
gilly1964 - feel well soon
Spent hours this morning talking to tech people at my security provider to reinstall apps. In that respect I suppose I decluttered some of my fears about tech.
Thank you all for encouragement

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Saturday has been a bright day with blue skies & a bit of sunshine but cold 🥶 DSis had some bad news today - she is confirmed as diabetic ☹️ and had a short phone chat with the practice diabetic nurse. She has been told to change to brown bread; potatoes, pasta etc should be for lunch not dinner & she needs to start having breakfast. The nurse will call back with a fuller list of diet changes after she sees the results of DSis’s latest blood test. Of course DSis will completely ignore any advice 😖 Naturally as I do most of the cooking everything will fall to me 👿
On to better news 🥳 Earnest put in an appearance 👏 and guess what - the elusive foaming soap has been found in the kitchen under sink cupboards 🥳 hidden behind some bottles of cleaner (so not visible at first glance 😣) I had actually been more sensible than I thought 🙄 However the 2 bottles have now been moved to the under-stairs cupboard. I did take the opportunity to empty both under sink cupboards, wash & dry all the shelves & I reorganised the contents. Everything is a lot neater & I managed to bin a bag of rubbish - manky cloths etc.The other small task I have completed is to make a list of all February & March birthdays - need to make an urgent trip to MrA for cards (unfortunately my small stash of cards is female oriented & most of the birthdays are males 😔) Rather aggrieved that my usual cheap card shop is classed as non essential 😔 so cards won’t be as cheap 😞
218 Bag of kitchen detritus - binnedYou are very welcome balabooberlies 🙂 Thanks for the hug - I do so love hugging 🤗 Well done on conquering your tech fears 👏 I am too lazy to try - I rely on my DH if I have a problem 😉Very happy to see you back charlies_tribe 🙂 I hope you are feeling better 🙂 - January is the month for feeling ‘not too good’ made worse by worries over Covid19, the disaster that is Br*x*t & no end in sight 😭 Apologies - did not mean to drag us down 😔 😞 I have given myself a quick kick up the jacksie 😉
“Positivity breeds Positivity” so here goes 😉 Firstly well done on the decluttering that you have done 👏 Secondly a medal 🏅 is on it’s way as, despite being unwell, you have continued the homeschooling 👏 Just checked when Lent starts but I don’t think anyone needs to give anything up this year 😉 Lent 2021 is a time for finding a small ‘treat’ to add to our lives 🙂
Thank you for forwarding the upbeat message Viking_mfw 👏 It helps us remind ourselves that we are human NOT superhuman 🙂 AND WOW re keeping up with your Minimalist Challenge 🤩 I do not have the vocabulary to express how impressed I am 👏👏
Well done Nicnak 👏 I absolutely adore the fact that we can get excited by getting a skip 😂gettingthrifty, you do know you can count ‘bad days decluttered’ 🙂😉 Well done on keeping up with the paperwork & electronic decluttering 👏Nice to see you ilovetea 👋 You have been busy - over 10% towards your target 👏👏MrsSD 🏅 ⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 218/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Hope everyone is ok today, hugs for those who need them. I've been sorting out our christmas decorations, I managed to get rid of huge tub of broken light, baubles and threadbare tinsel. My Ex has promised to take whatever rubbish I sort out to the recycling centre. I have an entire out building that is filled with christmas decorations as our house was always decorated inside and out. I came to the conclusion that I'm going to sell most of the outside wall decorations as I won't be needing them and my ex has said he doesn't want anything else out of the house. I'm also planning on selling our huge tent and camping equipment, hopefully I can use that money for moving. I received my free school meal vouchers today and my warm home discount was applied
Its a huge help right now

😔 So sorry I have not managed to keep up with all the posts. I do hope everyone is keeping well. I’ve had homeschooling 2 little ones and a lot of real life hassles taking over but I’m trying to keep my chin up and keep on track with the mission - remembering that decluttering is my new hobby 🤣 I have found that doing a little a day has given me a little time and peace to myself. Honestly I’m *almost* beginning to enjoy it! Quick summary to date:
36-60: sorted/shredded/filed old docs
61-68: Recycled old cardboard boxes
69-84: decanted (then recycled) half-empty + travel size toiletries into larger bottles
85-99: Sorted shoe cupboard, put summer shoes away, so can now find winter boots
100-103: Binned socks with huge holes
104-107: Passed some kitchenalia on to my mum (and turned down her offer of things in return!)
108-114: passed some stationery on to my mum.
[Just to clarify, I’m not dumping clutter on my mum - she’s recently moved home and was in need of things.]
So I’m slightly off target as we head towards end of the month, but it’s a good start!
Stay safe x

Thank you MrsSD. I've moved my meds back in sight, might help me remember to take them.
While trying to detangle the kids bird nests (apparently they don't have to shower/brush hairs when not at school 😂) I threw 2 empty conditioner bottles in the bin that were on the bath completely empty. After leaving them to it DH went up and had to de box a gift set as one of the girls had left a conditioner bottle open and it was covered.
I then decluttered 2 hours sleep 💤
