Hiya, I'm keen to join in with all the decluttering. Before Christmas my husband left me for another woman and now I'm going to have to move from a huge four bed house, that used to be two 2 bed houses into a smaller 3 bed house with 4 kids. I'm unable to stay where I currently live as this house is military housing so I won't be entitled to it soon. On the plus side I've decluttered most of his stuff back to him so we have more room to pack.
Things decluttered today: 2 rusty frying pans that were last used for camping, lots of old paperwork, some broken gardening clips and a rusty camping mug
I'm aiming for at least 5 things per day: DD1 23/11/09
DD2 16/12/10
DS1 19/01/13

Decluttering can be really cathartic so might help you heal a little. 🤗
I sold an amp that belonged to my husband to a colleague today - it’s no good to me, the nuances of music are kind of lost on you when you’re belting it out at the top of your lungs! It’s still in the house but he’s paid for it so I’m counting it today! Nothing else gone apart from the usual daily bits. 56/730.Vicky xGrocery challenge:December 2022 £151.96/£400 . 1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Lost the post I started 😖 I will try again 😉
Another Thursday done & dusted. Not quite so dreary or wet today. Our veg box was delivered at 2:30 a.m. Nicer & more contents than the last box - 12 potatoes, celeriac,
2 swede, 8 carrots, 5 beetroot, 8 small red onions, 11 stems of kale & a bag of rocket. DSis spent the day in her room. DH did our usual Thursday sm shop. Earnest paid me a mini visit - emptied out the under-stairs cupboard in search of the elusive foaming soap 😉No joy - however I did tidy the contents & managed to put away a couple of items that were originally homeless 👏 🙂 Unfortunately this means that I need to empty the under sink cupboards 😔 as I think that is my last hope 😔
DH cooked cheesy pasta for dinner - delicious 🤤
206 - 208 Kitchen recycling, plastic bottle, drinks cans - recycled
209 Kitchen detritus - binned
Thank you for the compliment gettingthrifty 🙂 Good work on the decluttering 👏 The sentimental stuff is hard ☹️ My ongoing solution is to work backwards - so 95% of last year’s Christmas & birthday cards have been disposed of appropriately. Whenever I find another stash/box of cards/postcards etc I try to dispose of at least 75% BUT if it gets too hard I stop. It has been getting easier 🤞 now I just have to tackle the thousands of photos 😱 I do vaguely recall that feng shui principle but I think you should accept it as coincidence 🙂 Cats are so ‘entertaining’ 😉
Oh dear pamsdish ☹️ Well done on the cash for clutter 👏 You are bucking for sainthood 😇 re parrot care. I bet the parrot cannot believe it’s luck 🙂How cruel Floss 😉😉 & how funny ‘sulking cats’ 😉
Fingers crossed balabooberlies 🤞
Thank you for the tale of the cats vulpix - I am grinning like a Cheshire Cat 😁 I think we must be related - I hate cleaning 😔 but also agree that when I do clean it makes me feel better 🙂 I am very impressed with your up cycling skills 👏👏
That has set me thinking 🤔 what would I take 🤔 Practicality dictates personal & financial documents & cash & credit card but not sure what my sentimental item/s would be 🤔
I will have to give that some thought. Well done on the cash for clutter 👏Good idea moneyonmymindsam putting everything together 👏 Hope you enjoy your chicken 🙂 What a marvellous memory of your mum 🙂 She sounds like she was a real character 🙂 Great work on the paperwork 👏You have my fullest admiration Frogletina 👏👏 I hope you don’t mind but I have copied your cleaning regime 😉 & I will study it & try to emulate 😉 - one Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 👏 Wow to the weight loss 🤩 you must be so proud of yourself 👏👏 Two Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ You have really used lockdown to full advantage 👏👏🙂🙂The office looks great EnergyShifter 👏 it must be a pleasure to work in there now 🙂Definitely time to change the colour Viking_mfw 😉😉Nannywindow, a great job of making the spirit of Christmas last 👏 Let me know when you make the coffee & walnut cake - I will come round for a slice 🍰 🤤
Great work HappyKitties 👏
Lucky neighbour mehefin 😉
Welcome aboard kat360 👋 so sorry about the circumstances ☹️ What a ‘cad’ (the politest word I could think of 😉) I hope you are being given a reasonable amount of time to move 🤞You have made a great start 👏
Great work VickyV 👏 cash for clutter 🙂 I think 50 would be an acceptable number rather than 20 😉

Have been trying to list things (books) and have spent hours trying to work out why my keyboard goes skew-whiff. It works for a little while and then goes bonkers. Have tried all recommended stuff. Last option is to hoover it. Can't afford new laptop. Feel like crying.
However, am determined to see this through. I know I have stalled which normally makes me give up. But not this time. I will see this through until the end of the year and if clearing the house is the only thing I achieve then I will be grateful. It has to all start from this one thing as all the 'stuff' holds a lot of misery/depression accumulated over 8 years. It steals my energy and joy. It's a thief !
Sorry to sound so down. I am trying to chivvy myself up. I am probably just tired. Am definitely cold. Off to make hot cup of tea.
Well done to all those that have kept going. I know how hard it can be sometimes.

Okay, I'm back.
In an effort to 'just do something' I have retrieved an old email account and deleted over a thousand emails. Feel much better.
Have a great day..........

The only decluttering done in the last week has been just normal household waste so not counting that, but I am looking forward to decluttering this tonsillitis which I have had for almost a week. I am exhausted from lack of sleep. The GP would not give me anti-biotics at first, my temperature was 39.8 which I brought down with paracetamol but finally got some antibiotics on Wednesday and can feel a slight improvement. It does feel really weird being off sick when you are working from home13
