elsien said:basketcase said:elsien said:How many bottles of windscreen wash does a one car household need?Asking for a friend.Well. Let's see... My friend says there's:
- the one in the boot
- the one in the rear footwell in case the boot gets frozen shut
- the one in the house in case ALL the car locks get frozen shut
- the one a friend or relative might need because they're not as well-prepared as you
- the one kept in stock in case you run out
Ooh yes! PLUS (if concentrated) the diluted one in case the washer bottle runs out on a journey and you have to refill it. (Although, if you're foolhardy, that could double up with the one in the boot.)And, of course, that doesn't apply if you get pre-mixed.Unless you keep a concentrated one because it's easy to use up the pre-mixed stuff without noticing - and you don't want to risk running out.How many's that?
And yes, they were a “bargain.”Of course they were! And they don't eat anything (As Me Old Mum used to say)And you soon get through them - especially in Winter with the dirty roads, cars & lorries kicking up muck etcIn fact, you'd probably have used it all by now, if it hadn't been for lockdown.I blame Covid...PS: If you go over to the Prepping threads, it's stocking up - which always makes me I mean my friend feel much better.
A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Bad pet parent that I am.

Quieter here.
20 books of stamps sold on faceache. A stack of unused envelopes forced upon/ donated to the purchaser.Old chest of drawers has been repaired and is in the process of being upcycled. That’s about it so far, but doing the chest of drawers should finish off the office so I’m pleased with that. And it’s used up an old tin of paint. Win win.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.11 -
Thanks for the medal Mrs SD. Much appreciated. Glad they are virtual or I would have to find somewhere for them
A good day today. I put all the blue and white ornaments on my new dresser that I want to be there and the rest of them boxed up for selling. The dresser looks great and the lounge diner is CLEAR. Wow. It has only taken me YEARS.Just got to keep it like that now.
So that was this morning. This afternoon my bedroom, a room of doom, has been hit. In it were piles of clothes on the spare bed, packaging galore and piles of books. I have sorted throuugh the books and the shelves are tidy. The spare bed still has the packaging on it but organised. I have a pile of books to sell but that is it. All clothes away or bagged for rags or CS. A whole bin liner of rubbish removed and other things put in their proper place about the house.
Tomorrow it gets finished and then a clean. My bedding is in the washer so will be replace but I am going to buy myself some new brg linen to enjoy.
The final room is the LAST room of doom now. It is full of badly stored fabric, wool and sewing stuff, there are bags and bags for the CS. plus stuff to sell. There is a lot if that but I have a plan to get some organisation. This means having two accessible boxes. One with items already on sale - easy to find. The second of stuff that has been photographed and just needs listing. The rest of the stuff that isn't needed immediately is going under the table in there and I shall pull one box out at a time to sell until it is gone. Eventually the packaging will also go in there too but the CS stuff will have to go first. I don't want it put in the loft and forgotten about so I will have to be patient.
I actually enjoy selling stuff and so may continue after I retire and the morgage is paid off but I will never let it get like this again. It is too much to deal with.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Medical emergency in house today resulting in DH being sent to A&E .
Nothing decluttered but a reminder of one of the reasons im doing this.

Last time it happened i was sleeping in spare room as DH felt ill..in the night he called out needing help , i fell.over CS bags that were at end of bed !! I actually fell flat on my face at 0500😫 and cursed my cluttery ways.
This time we got out of the house without falling over junk
