So I have taken back half the rod to use as a drain poker lol. At least now its useful.
Today's outs:
1.some hoover tools which are excess/spares ancient parts to go.
2. magazines possibly to neighbour (if wanted) after I've had a quick flick through later.
3. Razor blade handle (still have 3)
I am now not working and unemployed as of yesterday 😭 which is a bit of a blow so used that energy and cleaned the place for 3 hours (didn't do windows outside)
Grated all left over cheese into a bag so it can be used or frozen.
Might do something more later if chance but have a parcel to pack ready to post tomorrow.

Kitchen and hallway hoovered and mopped ( my least favourite task done) also bed changed, washing and folding done and half put away ( must finish off)
I have also tackled the 3 drawer chest which I hate - it’s DH that he’s had for ever. I tell him I don’t like it but then it is “useful” to store all the odds and ends in. Craft items for LO, packaging for posting items, spare coat hangers to hang washing straight out of machine to dry..... and all manner of other junk we collect. The orchids sit on top of it as it’s a beautiful sunny spot for them. So until I find a different piece of furniture just as useful to replace it, I have to put up with it.... at least it’s tidy and organised now!
I’ve prepped the veg for dinner, an extra portion of soup was made at lunchtime, I’ve just got to package up a couple of items I sold.
unfortunately my massive overflowing charity box wasn’t collected earlier this week as planned, so they rescheduled for 22nd! That leaves a whole week for DH to take things back out and spoil my plans 🥴11 -
DD1 complaining about light come under her door at uni and keeping her awake. Took out all the odd socks out of the rags bag and made her a light excluder. They are still leaving the house just in a different form, so calling it a win still.

@D123456789 why not find another box to put the excess in and seal both boxes so your DH can't repatriate anything?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

In to report the ottoman I sold online has left the house and a big space is free so 6/100 bags and 2 large items.basketcase said:I think I'll call it Not 'Decluttering' Decluttering. A few examples:Ironing/decluttering - I despise ironing (hawk, spit, ptooey, ptooey) - always have. It'll always be clutter, because I put off doing it. In fact, this should probably be 'No Ironing Decluttering!' 2 birds with 1 stone? I can do that. In fact, 3 birds because I can declutter my recorded programmes backlog too!Bank Statement reconciliation/decluttering - I use a basic financial system to which I can download transactions. Regular bank recs mean I don't need to keep the statements and I'm sure I'm on top of money, so less possible financial stress.Knitting/decluttering - I tend to feel guilty because it's low energy and "I should be doing something else". I am. I'm decluttering a project (and my yarn stock)Readind/decluttering - see knitting! Stern note to self: BUT MUST NOT GET WAYLAID.Admin/decluttering - Somebody waaaaay back on the thread (probably yesterday!
) posted about decluttering tasks. Another brilliant idea. Filling out that form/banking that cheque/making that phone call etc get put off because they take a disproportionate amount of time. But if I'm achieving several things at once - the admin side, plus shortening the To Do list, plus knocking off my Declutter Action and removing a stressor? That provides motivation to do it.
I remember Shirley Conran's remark in Superwoman (yes, I'm that old!) along the lines of "Your house should be as clean as you can get away with". I think it'll work for me. Reverse psychology? We'll see.Sorry. I've wittered...
I find that doing the rotten jobs (usually some financial thing) first lifts my day. I use this tactic at work when I have an especially difficult patient. See them first, the rest of the day is a dream (usually).
Decluttered a notebook to someone who really needed to sort their head out today.
Mr SD I am 'sticking like a stamp' (thankyou) to clearing the lounge/diner. I am on the last leg.Yay.
