@vulpix - I try to avoid anything too local. The ones having the spat are at the other end of country so only met them on line for zoom meetings.

Tuesday was a dry, bright day but a bit chilly. DH painted one wall & the colour was coming out a bit dark & nothing like our test patch ☹️ It transpired that he bought the wrong colour ‘Santa Fe’ rather than ‘San Jose’ 😬 I found the tester pot & we decided to do 3 walls in the wrong colour & DH would buy a pot of the correct colour for the 4th wall 🙂 I tackled an urgent financial frog - went into town to bank my Premium Bond winning cheques before I had to get them reissued 👏🙂 & took the opportunity to visit the butcher’s 🙂 Spent rather a lot of money - veal escalopes, 3.5kg brisket, dozen sausages, loin lamb chops, 2 large pots of goose fat. When I got home I managed to rearrange the garage freezer & created 1.5 empty drawers 👏 Everything portioned, bagged, labelled & frozen. DH had gone out for the paint but sad phone call - bike had broken down - wouldn’t start + no lights so meant it was a problem with the battery 🤞 ☹️ Three hours 40 minutes later DH got home. Long delay waiting for the breakdown service, they were very busy & then rush hour 😖 Anyway it was loose leads on the battery 👏🙂🥳 I made cottage pie from scratch - stretched the mince with cooked red lentils + added lots of vegetables. Delicious 🤤 Had enough meat mixture left for another meal for 3 - bagged, labelled & frozen. One portion of cottage pie for DSis’s dinner Wednesday night with DH & I having cheesy pasta from the freezer (doesn’t agree with DSis ☹️ ) Wudupa.

My husband is taking another bag of clothes to the charity shop today. We have to dispose of our vacuum cleaner too as it broke.
I wasn't feeling that well so I ordered a Covid test as I had a cough and a fever but I feel much better today. The test is arriving later anyway. I got up early this morning as it was harder to lie down with a cough. I've taken two lots of cold and flu tablets this morning.
I have loads of veggies so I think I am going to make a big pot of soup today. I'm going to use a can of coconut milk and blend it up with my stick blender.
I did slice up some browning bananas to freeze for smoothies.
I need to vacuum too (with my nice new vacuum cleaner!) as I haven't done much housework for quite a few days! I will wait until my neighbours get up. I've just cleaned the kitchen sink at least.2025 GOALS

Hello Chums,
I feel rested today so I will continue with my tidying. I am quite happy with the house now except the sitting room. I just don't seem to get it right with ornaments and pictures. I think it may be the fireplace. It is immaculate but too ostentatious for a little mill workers cottage. It is also miss matched. A massive Victorian pine surround and modern fake coal gas fire with black high gloss marble hearth. Everywhere needs decorating but I think the sitting room will be the next for a revamp. Not yet though. I want to enjoy the tidiness for a while. The house has been a bit of a tip since we moved here 4 months ago.
Mr V has 3 sheds, which may sound a lot but he did condense from a double garage. He heard yesterday that a lock up he rents to store equipment that he rents out is to be used for a community project renovating furniture. So our pressing problem is to be ruthless with the equipment in his 3 sheds ,make space and fetch all the rental equipment here. I have put my foot down and said he cannot just buy another shed! As well as 3 sheds bursting at the seams I also have a sentry box shed for gardening stuff.4 sheds is enough for anybody! I completely squashed his idea of buying a shipping container !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have 6 weeks to do this. Tbh I will be pleased if he condenses his stuff and it is all in one place. He will be the age The Beatles sing about in December, time that he stopped carrying big heavy equipment about.
Enjoy your new surprise colour bedroom Mrs SD.

Hello all, hope everyone is well, hugs if not. Sorry I haven't retained anyone's news from the past few days.I decluttered £'s on Monday rampaging around town buying lots of much needed clothes for the 2 of us and some winter stuff to take on hols. We haven't bought anything for 2 years so that was my excuse 😁Yesterday I had an emergency dentist appointment and she decided that I needed to declutter a back tooth then and there 😱 . Hopefully that's done the trick and sorted the ongoing infections 🤞🏽 Today has been spent cwtched up on the sofa feeling like I'd been hit by T. Fury on a good day ! 💪🏽Vulpix you have my sympathies and I hope you get a referral and sorted very soon. Gentle hugs xnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently6

trying to do an extra email/frog at the end of the day, little physical clutter out except 1 x make up 1727, 3 big admin frogs - some things not finished but moving along. 1728 - 1730.
Been watching hoarders and big house clearout, and realise ideally I'd reduce stuff by 50% but at the rate I'm going I'd be well beyond getting a telegram from the Queen. Setting great expectations for November after DD1 moves out. Ventured in her room as she's at b/g for a few days - horrifying but going to try and bite my tongue and just focus on things under my control for the next 2 weeks , plenty of my own things to sort!

Wednesday has been another mainly dry day with some sunshine but a noticeable drop in temperature. DH was out early on the now working motorbike 😉 - 1st stop an upholsterer to drop off the Goldwing seat & backrest & the new covers for fitting; 2nd stop a clothing repairer to drop off DH’s motorbike trousers (lower inside leg - the material has been catching on footrest & brake pedal ☹️) to add a patch. DH had a day off from the decorating & spent time sorting his office. DSis spent the whole afternoon waiting for a call from the doctor only to discover that she missed the call at 5:58 p.m. because she had the ringer on mute 😞 DSis called back at 6:00 p.m. & was informed that the doctor had already left 🤔 a likely story 🙄 My day was spent watching junk TV but did take time out to make a small batch (3 jars) of beetroot chutney. First attempt but was brave enough to tweak the recipe to take account of what I actually had in my store cupboard - red onions instead of white + reduced the sugar by a third. Taste tested with some cheese & bread - very tasty 🤤 If I make again I might reduce the sugar even more as still quite sweet. Dinner was as stated in last post - cottage pie for DSis & cheesy pasta for DH & me. Vegetable box just delivered - 2 round squashes, white onions 😂, the smallest red peppers I have ever seen (the size of medium sized tomatoes 😉), 2 heads of broccoli, a lettuce, 6 smallish potatoes, 3 aubergines & a decent amount of mushrooms. Wudupa.

Great work Wednesday2000 👏 Sorry to hear you are unwell & fingers (& everything else) crossed that it is just a heavy cold 🤞 A new vacuum cleaner 🥳 Can I ask about the coconut milk in your veggie soup - does it thicken the soup?
Great work TheMsTeale 👏
vulpix, pleased to hear you are feeling better 🙂 Just 4 months to tidy your house - you have worked really hard 👏 & you should enjoy the fruits of your labour 🙂 As to the sheds - only four 🙃 very cruel of you to deny MrV a shipping container 😉🙃😉 Joking aside, sounds like there is a lot of hard work ahead to condense/declutter enough items from 3 sheds & a lock up to fit in just the 3 sheds 😱 bearing in mind one of them is becoming MrV’s studio 🤞 Fortunately I do like the surprise colour 🙂
nannywindow, how descriptive ‘rampaging around town spending money’ but at least you had 2 years of savings & everything you bought was almost certainly a need not a want 👏🙂 Having a decisive dentist is a great asset to your pocket & your health 😉 Fingers crossed that you have no more infections so no more pain 🤞
Good work Happy_Kitties 👏
What a great idea TC77 👏 doing an extra email/frog at the end of the day 🙂 As to ideally reducing your ‘stuff’ by 50%, I am probably in that same club 😉 However without a huge warehouse to lay everything out I cannot see me managing it in 2 lifetimes let alone one 😔 😔 I do think it is easier to declutter other people’s stuff probably because there is no emotional attachment 😉 Horrifying as DD1’s room is, my DSis’s room is probably worse - I have no idea how she manages to get anything else in there but she seems to receive a package every other day 😱
