I have completely cleared a wardrobe this month as my son is coming to stay and I dont want his stuff laying around.
I've cleared and sorted all my craft stuff, clothes and bedding. Even the under stairs cupboard is virtually empty except for the vacuum and the carpet cleaner. Oh and some torches hanging up.
I've sold over £140 so far and the rest is boxed and bagged into the shed. I know its not gone but its not in the house so the cupboards are virtually empty instead of take out and put back. Im not in a rush to sell things quickly and what I make I donate to animal charities as I see it that the money was spent some time ago so its already gone.
If it doesn't sell online I will do a car boot eventually. If I do want something I know where it is.
But the clear cupboards are so liberating. It makes me happy to just look in them and see empty space.

Mrs SD, I have just realised that wudupa means washing up, drying up, putting away. I had thought it was just your rallying cry to yourself for a meal and day well done 😂
I have finally been able to book a bulky waste collection after trying for months, so although they have not yet gone they will be soon hurray!
I can't find my last post, so not sure if I mentioned it, but I am also decluttering my job for a new one, and have my official leaving date as the 29th October 😄 the new job wants me in immediately though, so no days off in between. With the new job, I'll also be decluttering (ish) 25 minutes of commute every day, cutting my commute in half which is excellent.
@Blackberrycurved, my decluttering started when we were looking to move and has continued, I don't track things specifically but just have a general desire to have a more streamlined life, where I don't always have to spent half an hour looking for something! But as others have mentioned, it is really up to you and what works best around any other commitments you have7 -
Ooops -- not sure what happened - my post this morning obviously didn't work and it was quite a long one.Not as much done with my sister as I'd hoped as we both had to do work things that cropped up when we had both intended to be off all week but still ahead of where I thought i'd be due to panic clearup due to friend coming previously - Back bedroom is now fully decluttered and looks pretty good. Next task will be a full sort out of the kitchen. Need to declutter and rearrange.I have 2 sets of deep drawers - well sort of. i is used currently for pans and the other for things like baking trays, cake tins and so on. The sides and backs are really low so although the pans work in there fine all the things like baking tins just fall out. I need to either move things around to put thing in there that don't fall out or work out how to alter the drawers to make the sides higher. There are also a few cupboards that could do with an extra shelf or something to use the available space better.Away with my sister this week so this will be the next job when I get back.Vulpix - sounds like you are doing great with your reorganisation / declutter. It is exhausting just reading about it - you are really flying.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons6

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Saturday is a blue sky, sunny day - warm in the sun but very chilly in the shade. DH has helped a neighbour jump start his car, cleared enough space in the garage to put a motorbike in & filled the bird feeders. Meanwhile I have done nothing apart from clear a few programmes from the TV planner. Currently watching Russell Howard.
So back to cheerleading 😉
EnergyShifter, don’t worry about decluttering/cleaning etc. You have had a stressful & worrying time so need to recharge your Life Batteries & the walk with DS sounds like a good start 🙂 Btw, thanks for the reminder to return meds to the pharmacy 👏
Good work Finstickle 👏 Your weekend sounds great - it is always lovely to be looked after by someone else 😉🙂
You have been busy HappyKitties 👏 & how great to find somewhere that takes used cat food sachets 🙂 I hope poorly cat is now better 🤞
Great idea 2Scratters 👏 Surprising how many little things can be done during advert breaks 🙂 Wishing you every success with the ‘Toad’ Meanwhile you have been extremely busy & productive 👏 Please celebrate your successes 👏 I particularly admire that you have managed to leave your grocery money in the bank for TWO weeks 🙂 so one medal 🏅 on its way. Decluttering can definitely be fun 😉 especially trying to remember why on earth you bought something 😉
Great advice -taff 👏 & TC77 👏
You have hit the nail on the head vulpix “We all just do our own thing at our own pace here and are kept motivated by the magnificent Mrs SD. What we all have in common is the desire to live with less stuff. Plus we enjoy hearing about everyone's adventures.” Thanks for the compliment 👏🙂 Almost time for a celebration having practically completed both the kitchen & the sitting room declutter 👏 Here’s hoping that the weather holds for both the car boot sales & that buyers are out in force to relieve you of your items & fill your purse 🤞 Definitely approve of the ‘looking into the successfully Decluttered & tidy spare room’ It reminds you that you are a successful & determined declutterer 👏🙂 At the rate you are going you will soon be hitting the 1,000 mark 🙂 You are an inspiration to us all 👏
Brilliant decluttering of Frogs, florianatwobob 👏 one medal 🏅on its way 🙂 Excellent carpentry skills building a tool store + sorting out the shed 👏 - that merits a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way.
Wednesday2000 pleased to hear that you are feeling rested & rejuvenated 🙂 & I hope your dog is OK & that the kennel stay is just so you can get some cleaning & decluttering out of the way 🤞😉 So far I have heard nothing but good reports about the Bond film. As to the wardrobe declutter it sounds like it will be very therapeutic taking into account your comment about hating the contents 😉 You then have the very pleasant task & plenty of time to research what new to you clothing to obtain 🙂
3secondmemory you sound so much brighter & happier 😁👏 I have never understood why people claim that babies aren’t smiling but have wind 🤔 surely having wind would look more like a grimace than a smile 🙄 Sorry to hear about the cold but agree with being proactive about treating it 🙂 (2019 sounded a bit scary). The makeover sounds so relaxing 😌 and being pampered is one of the joys of life 🙂 Hope the weather stays good so you can get the garden put to bed 🤞 The personal shopper sounds excellent - spending lots of time discussing your requirements & now a 2nd session to provide you with inspiration 🙂 and a lovely gesture by your nieces 🙂
Excellent work stellata 👏 and using your success as inspiration will help you on your next decluttering project 🙂
Wow p00 🤩 what successful decluttering 👏 and a wonderful comment “But the clear cupboards are so liberating. It makes me happy to just look in them and see empty space” A timely reminder of one of the many benefits of decluttering 👏🙂
Foofoopuppy, I think the expression/abbreviation comes from the FlyLady thread 😉 Yippee to arranging the bulk waste collection 🥳 Congratulations on the new job 👏 a shame that no time off but the benefit of time gained outweighs that 🙂👏 An extra 25 minutes a day to continue your decluttering journey ‘joking’ 🙃 Also thank you for telling us how & why you started decluttering 👏
Phew, I think I have caught up 🙂

Seem to have fallen into taking on work because it's there and, from Monday evening, am working 6 days out of 7 for 2 different organisations. Have instituted a rule where I will only work for one organisation per day... (rolls eyes)

Hi, a lot of posts to read today and a lot of stuff going on, great stuff.
Blackberrycurved or BBC if I can be familiar? I did want to loose 14lb in the 14 weeks before Christmas but I have lost the plot atm. I must try harder!
Car boot was steady, made £88 and random 13p. I gave a lot of things away and sold everything very cheap. Another one tomorrow, arggh 6am start. Oh I took a suitcase of clothes to The Salvation Army on the way home. I may have bought a top whilst I was there.
Called for drinks at the pub with friends on the way home, a nice change.
Couldn't resist looking in the spare room on my way to bed!

@EnergyShifter so glad to hear your DS is making good recovery, and sending hugs. @Blackberrycurved i meant to declutter lbs as only fit 10% of my clothes but hasn't happened. Did buy some ted baker trousers for a few quid for cs but they fit me now! One item sold and packaging, tidied and hoovered landing and cleared space of some sort for dd1 who is away for a couple of days , and emails so counting as 5 1682-1686.
