@Blackberrycurved welcome, there aren't rules. Some people count what they get rid of- I do to motovate myself. Think target some have is 2021 this year and I wanted to do 2500 as.lots to get rid of but stalled due to life. Can count recycling or paper and electronic declutter - really what works for you and Mrs SD is our wonderful cheerleader. I get such support and motivation from the lovely decluttering family here.
@Liverpool_Anne, like the idea of the bag in the wardrobe. I tend to put in a box which takes up space but have some.lovely embroidered old shoe/slipper bags that I can put to use . I did stuff some draught excluders with odd socks i couldn't pair after a couple of months last year. Now I seem to have their partners! I hope tomorrow ( or another time) there is a celebration of your friends life . X

I think the thread is as much about decluttering your brain as removing physical things. It has been nagging me all week that my kitchen sinks needed a good clean so I counted that job done yesterday as a 'declutter'. A few jobs to do today and a little bit of shopping as DGCs tipped most of my salad on a not very clean kitchen floor yesterday.

I did a small thing that pleased me tremendously: I moved the 2 large boxes of dishwasher tablets to the back of the shelf, and put the smaller box containing hotel soaps to the front. Much more pleasing to the eye.

Up late this morning. Just having breakfast then will get dressed and get started on today's Friday Frog - clearing the papers which are sitting on top of the filing cabinet. They are there because I can't decide which file to put them in or whether I do actually need to keep them. I may be some time ....Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅7

Thanks Floss and TC77 I’m late to the party but I’ll give it a go. I work full time and have some mobility issues so I tend to put off everything and then it’s Monday and no time. If I can spend a bit of time each weekend the house could be better and my mental health also.
I need to get rid of stuff but I really need to organise as well so that things have a home and I feel calmer. No rules that’s difficult for me it leads to wreckage. I’m aiming for 1 room deep cleaned a week and for one thing to be organised and decluttered each weekend. Yes , deep clean of a room a week sounds alot, once I've cleared clutter I'll be aiming for a room a month with gold stars if I do more. I work full time and it is hard to declutter on top so be kind to yourself and even one thing out is progress!
