1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Tuesday continued in the same vein - sunshine & heavy showers ☹️ DH finished the sugar soaping & rinsing & then put a first coat of white emulsion on all the walls. DH has ordered a radiator cover for the bedroom radiator - not very MSE but thought we would treat ourselves 😉 Dinner was oven baked salmon fillets, boiled potatoes & peas. Wudupa.

GrannyKate, a well deserved restful day & you obviously recharged your batteries enough to do quite a bit of decluttering 👏 & have earned a Gold Star ⭐️ Btw great ideas for 3secondmemory 👏🏅
nannywindow, everything counts when it comes to decluttering 😉 👏 Is the house tidier when the DGD is at school?😉😉 DHs can be such a worry but hopefully it is just a case of the doctor being cautious 🤞 My DH is still waiting for his chat with a consultant - the last telephone appointment was cancelled without telling DH 😠 As to the decorating, please do not be ashamed of your lack of progress naughty, naughty 😉 It has taken us at least 10 years to get around to starting our bedroom 😔😔 So I will challenge you to picking an already started decorating project & making some progress on it by the end of the month 🙂 Are you up for it?🙂
Wanna_Bee_Free, what excellent advice for nannywindow 👏 Very impressed that you are tackling your paperwork in bite sized sessions - it will be done in no time 👏
How exciting EnergyShifter 🙂 a Spanish holiday 👏
Excellent work florianatwobob 👏

Have been back at the decluttering in a small way. Box of jars to recycling, I have enough good ones for storage and don't need the random dolmio ones any more. Some old art stuff and greetings cards back to my daughter. Also put summer clothes in one of those vacuum bags and in top of wardrobe for next year. Not used those before but look good so far. XP has been struggling with his family and MH and taking it out on me, I feel a bit drained and decluttering even in a small way helps me feel a bit more positive. Happily the newish lodger seems to have settled in now and it's quite nice to have the company as well as the money.Magnolia Stellata7

@wort I really like your signature statement - Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.
such a true statement
a few bits of decluttering helped along by family this time.
216-217 baby carrier & baby sling sold and posted. Unfortunately with DD now being 2.5 and me being only 5'2" (with a bad back) I've had to accept that my days of carrying her on longer walks is now over
218 - 220 3 * DD's tops, not sold so in the charity bag
221 - 222 2 * DD's pajamas into the charity bag. An action prompted by my nan (who my mum has just returned from visiting) buying and sending down 2 x pairs of lovely new PJs for her - so 2 of her older pairs out
223 - 225 Tidying and reorganising. My mum has DD on a Wed and with the weather turning had asked for some toys to keep at hers. I'm not counting these, but having given her a selection of the lesser used toys, or those she will soon grow out of, when they do come back they'll get decluttered immediately (will get counted then).
However, it did allow me to have a quick rearrange of some games and puzzles and clear a crate from in front of the fire (which will shortly need to be used) and start to get her used to her toys living in drawers etc rather than on show all the time, she'll still be able to get to everything just hopefully I'll trip over it less!!
Claiming 3 for the crate & 2 drawers reorganised
My mum also brought more clothes for DD from her travels and some dungarees she'd been sewing so further decluttering required there, however most items to move on now are summer clothes so these will be put away to try and sell next year.

Hi,
Good work going on even with RL getting in the way.
Siebre , a cautionary tale there for the positives of decluttering. I want to reduce all my stuff whilst I can and also ensure that it is disposed of in the way I would like. My kids know my foibles of not being wasteful but if they had to clear my house it would be very problematic for them as they all live miles away and have busy lives. I am not a hoarder, ,It's just stuff from a much bigger house.
I am having a rest. The spare bedroom is almost a spare bedroom. I have ousted everything that was stored in there that isn't needed as part of a spare room. Christmas decorations, pictures, etc. It is all on the landing atm and will be taken down stairs and sorted/ousted or stored in the pantry with elastic walls.
The upstairs of my house is looking good with everything in it's place. The downstairs looks like a very messy junk shop. The biggest job is yet to come. Empty the remainder of the pantry and reduce everything so it all fits back in. DD1 and I are doing a carboot sale on Saturday so I would like to have sorted out anything I could take by then. If the weather holds I will do a couple of carboot sales and then distribute the remains to charity shops. Simple eh?
I expect my numbers to grow in the next few days.

MrsSD I'll take up your challenge, I'm not sure if I will accomplish it but I'll try. Maybe just the radiator to start with as we're away the last week of Oct. After dropping DGD at school the house is still tidy as she's only here for an hour and is happy to take charge of the remote control but my breakfast croissants have certainly disappeared, you'd think she was starving 🤣 ..... and she's as thin as a rake ! She's asked me to clean her shoes twice this week though as they were muddy, but they only needed a damp cloth wipe over and I'm such a soft touch 🧡We needed to buy some car parts this morning, ready for a service this weekend, cost an arm and a leg but needs to be done before we go to Norfolk. We had to wait for one part to be ordered and delivered to the shop so went for a coffee in Co*ta then into TK Maximus, where I spent more money on some more bits and bobs for xmas. I missed out buying any surprise items last xmas but I refuse to do that this year, so the bank account has been decluttered again 😢I'm going to look for a large garden bag today, I'm sure there's one in the sheds somewhere as I will want to collect up the decorative gravel before the drive man starts. I'll then use the gravel somewhere else in the garden at a later date, waste not want not as they say.Wanna_Bee_Free thank you for your wise words, you're absolutely right. I'm my own worst enemy sometimes and beat myself up at my slow progress (or non progress ) when no one else minds.Energy shifter I'm sure you'll enjoy your holiday, feels a bit weird after no hols for 2 years doesn't it ?Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones and those having difficult times.nan
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
The sun was shinning today so 3 loads of washing done including the bedding and mostly line dried. The stuff that is still a bit damp is now on the airer, pleased with that as I was building a mountain waiting for a dry day
I have also decluttered some veg in a corgette and tomato soup, a friend gave me a whopping round courgette, I have seen round ones but non as big as this, and a veg stew using bits and bobs lurking in the veg rack, fridge and freezer. There should be pleanty for the freezer which will come in handy now the weather is getting colder. I still have some sweet potatoes and peppers to deal with, I can feel another soup lurking
Take care everyone7 -
@Siebrie , my position is my dad went into hospital and decided he doesn't want to go home so moved to a care home today and have his house to sort out. 35+ years he and my.mum lived there but nearly a century of belongings!

Wednesday has been a lovely sunny & warm day. DH went to B*Q for white paint both undercoat & emulsion. DSis spent most of the day in her room as usual. A box was delivered for DH & he opened it immediately & gave me an additional anniversary present - a pack of tea towels 🤣 I actually managed to deal with half a frog 🥳 I finally delivered two full bags to CS (2 more to go 😔) & wonder of wonders I actually spent some money in the CS 😉 B*den jumper £4 (95% cotton & 5% cashmere) & 4 balls of baby wool + a cash donation. Then into M*S & treated myself to a men’s long sleeved thermal vest & a pack of 3 pairs of thermal socks. DH spent the afternoon putting a first coat of paint on the artex ceiling using a paint brush - so no spatter 👏 He is now suffering from shoulder pain 😣 as the painting was all done overhead 😱 Dinner was eggs, oven chips & baked beans for DH & me but DSis had burgers instead of eggs. Wudupa.

Liverpool_Anne not sure I would class it as just a marathon more like the Dakar Rally 😉 It sounds like a well planned & funded labour of love 👏🙂 and you are well on the way to being completed 👏🙂 Great work on tackling your washing mountain 👏 & making so much soup 🙂 I particularly like the sound of sweet potato & peppers soup 🤤
Great work stellata 👏 Decluttering & packing away clothing 🙂👏 The joys of vacuum bags - you can keep more clothing & bedding in a smaller space 😉🙂 Very pleased to hear that the new lodger is settling in 🙂
Excellent work Finstickle 👏 & never too early to get DD used to putting her toys away 😉 Lovely Nan & great nan 🙂
You have been busy vulpix 👏 Very impressive only having a ‘messy junk shop downstairs’ our house is messy both upstairs & downstairs 😔 Fingers crossed that you find lots of bits & pieces for the car boot sale & that everything is snapped up for loads of £££ 🤞
Glad you have accepted the challenge nannywindow 🙂👏 and dealing with the radiator will be classed as completing the challenge 😉👏 Your bank account may have been decluttered but for good causes - car parts & Christmas 🙂 Hope you found the large garden bag & that it doesn’t take you too long to bag up the decorative gravel 🤞
Great work TC77 👏 Your dad sounds like a decisive gentleman 🙂 Is there a time limit on sorting out the contents of his house, as it sounds like a massive job?

Not too much done but every little helps
1051- 1061 fruit tea bags and a bag to work to the site where I don't like the coffee. I don't use many as tend to make 2 or 3 cups with one bag.
1062 a compostable fruit and veg bag from a supermarket used up in my food caddy. I am not good at remembering to use these up.
1063 more shredding
1064 sorted through some course notes and recycled some.
1064-1066 more magazines and seed catalogues recycled.

Good Morning,
Bloomin good effort Mr SD. The ceiling is the worst part of decorating for me.
I am not looking forward to today. In fact I am over whelmed at the thought of it. I am determined that the only things in this house will be in use or very, very precious. No justins. I could do with a church hall like that TV programme and spread everything out. Wish me luck.
