Huge hugs @EnergyShifter and @balabooberlies I do hope you are taking care of yourselves
@EnergyShifter I hope your son has turned a corner as you say and I know being in hospital is not where you want them to be , but being safe is vital and hopefully getting the help he needs. I hope you are getting support too Mind's advice and legal line are helpful as well as Saneline for anyone supporting someone with their mental health.
@balabooberlies.. are you still with your dad?I have raised re-enablement with the hospital a few times and rang social services. Today i told hospital that he said he would be home Monday and told them he needs reenablement and not safe without. Apparently re-enablement team overwhelmed so people either staying in hospital or going home for relatives to cope. I hope your dad is having local assessments and support put in.
Found 2 chipped pyrex dishes and for safety straight out, along with old kettle 1450 - 1452
Will be back later when dropped things off to places.

Hello TC77
still with Dad. He is on 4th hospital admission. He should never have been sent home the first time. One time we had to wait 9 days before we saw anyone at home. He was meant to have injections. Hospital had not made any referrals. Once they have left hospital/facility their legal requirements have been discharged. Don't worry I have heard it all.
I know all services are under incredible strain but your father is 98. He deserves any/all care they can give him.
Best of luck. Everything I have said is well meant. Just frustrations leaking through.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILYSaturday has been a gloriously sunny & very warm day. DH was up about 8:15 & I was up & dressed just before 9.00 a.m. Our plumber (N) arrived about 10:00 & set to work immediately - a full service with new parts. We chatted away catching up & I discovered that he had been within a whisker of going out of business 😱 (self employed so no gubberment assistance 😖) Fortunately when the first lockdown was eased the calls started coming in the day after & he has not stopped since 👏 I got to see photos of his daughter’s (a doctor) wedding (5 weeks ago) which had been postponed from last year. It looked like a beautiful wedding - sun was shining, a dr friend was the photographer & another dr friend was the celebrant. Also discovered that N is a ‘visitor’ - has been doing it for years & his current chap (P) is 101 years young & still lives independently - cooks, cleans & shops etc 👏 N takes him out for day trips & once a year accompanies him to NI to see his family. From a few things N said P is a wonderful old chap, sharing stories & still going strong 🤞 Boiler service finished & N went into loft & discovered we need a new ballcock valve. Fortunately as DSis will be home whilst we are away she can keep an eye on the overflow & run a bath or whatever 😉 N will source spare part & we can phone him when we get back & he will fit us in (probably another Saturday) 🙂 ££££ spent but DH & I look at it as a few £ per week for peace of mind, hot water & heating 😉
DH watched the MotoGP qualifying whilst I cleared more programmes from TV planner &spent a few minutes moving items from garage to suitable places in the shed. DH & I then spent time in the garden. New Sturdy support for the tomato plants - 4 wooden pillars in corners with cross braces across the long sides. I also thinned out the leaves as I still only have green tomatoes ☹️ We emptied last 2 potato bags - bag 1 = 872g with bag 2 = 1kg
Deadheaded Dahlias, DH filled bird feeders then we retired to the garage. Sorted & put away a large crate full of tools, cloths etc - work bench still clear, tool box lid still closes. More items returned to shed 😉 Floor swept - one small bag of garage detritus & one small bag of floor sweepings binned.
We now have space to park a motorbike 🥳 still leaving easy access to the fridge/freezer👏 Only needed about 90 minutes to finish up. DH & I then sat out in the sunshine & wrote a long To Do list for when we get back from Scotland. I watered the garden. Dinner was the 2nd half of last night’s Chinese. Wudupa.1596 - 1600 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, newspaper, 2 cardboard boxes - recycled
1601 - 1605 Kitchen detritus, 2 small bags garage detritus, plastic packaging, empty compost bag - binnedSorry to hear about your dad TC77 & I wish you every success in getting support in place for when he is allowed home - just sorry that you have the stress of organising it ☹️ Well done on the decluttering 👏 & good luck with finding suitable homes for necessary items 🤞Terribly frustrating for you TC77 but your persistence will pay off 🙂Lovely post vulpix 🙂 All we can do is offer up our experiences which might help others in their decision making. As you say advice however well intentioned can be unsuitable or not accepted as no-one knows the full situation. The garage is sorted enough for our immediate needs but we will have to sort out all the shelves & be really brutal next time. I can see lots of Justins leaving the premises 😉 As to the Premium Bonds DH & I are luckyenough to have quite a few but our childhood £1 Bonds have never won 🤔Please do not beat yourself up about the decorating - you are tackling it sensibly 🙂👏 - IT WILL GET DONE. Well done on the decluttering 👏Balabooberlies, so sorry to hear that your dear dad has been hospitalised for the 4th time ☹️ but at least he is now in a better equipped hospital that can meet his needs 🙂 Again, thank you for sharing your experience & hopefully it will help TC77 to stand her ground. That is still a great amount of decluttering 👏 given the situation with your dad.
Hugs from me EnergyShifter 🤗 Sending all good vibes that your darling son is receiving the assistance that he needs. Please take care of yourself. Well done on the decluttering especially the 3kg 👏

Bala.... I feel so much for you and your dad. I do hope he is getting good treatment now and they will provide ongoing appropriate care. I don't know if you've contacted PALS (patient liaison) but they can be very helpful.

@TC77 thinking of ur dad I cannot echo enough what @balabooberlies has said. Make sure the central hub meets with the family aswell. My local hospital stitched us right up, different agencies had different care plans that had obviously been tweaked to suit the agency needs to get her out. I’m severely disabled, was assured that things would be in place but I was left to look after her, there was nothing. It ended in me having a full meltdown and a formal investigation is now ongoing. If they can dodge they will, it’s about getting people out of hospital at all costs. They just washed their hands. Despite her having a social worker, social services refused to help. A GP hit the roof, was the only one to support me and change things. Speaking from the heart and recent experience, I hope everything goes okay. Sending hugs
