I am sorry to hear of everyones difficulties. xx
I have tried hard today but not achieved as much as I would have liked. The yellow wall and one blue alcove have had 2 coats of white emulsion. They need at least one more. The exposed brick chimney breast looks much less dominant without blue beside it. I think with calmer walls it may look quite nice eventually. Sadly now the walls are whiter it shows that the skirting and other woodwork are grey satin. No time for glossing atm. I am looking for curtains online which will not fight with the red brick! I will gloss after my visitors have been. More of the same for me tomorrow.

I hadn’t realised I’ve been away again for 7+ weeks, so have been catching up on all the posts I’ve missed. I was especially pleased to hear the Freda the tortoise is on the mend ! I hope everyone is managing okay, it sounds like a tough time is being had and I hope that things get better all round. Mrs SD, thank you very much for my 2 gold stars ⭐️ ⭐️.
We’ve had to declutter a significant amount of money as we had a washing machine and Hoover needing to be replaced 3 weeks apart. The upside is I now have lovely new ones but it wasn’t part of the plan, especially during the school holidays ! We also decluttered money there, having been away on holiday in the New Forest, which included 3 days at Paulton’s Park but the littles who love Peppa Pig and Dinosaurs had a fabulous time, I was just pleased to come home for the rest 🤪
I have managed to mainly keep on the ball with decluttering, in July and the first bit of August, I’ve got rid of 1.5 bags of school uniform to the lovely lady locally who runs a second hand school uniform service. At this time of the year, she frankly deserves a medal or a very large bottle of gin, whichever is more appropriate!
8 bags of DH’s clothes went to someone else locally who is involved with a refugee charity that is supporting a large number of refugees who are housed/held at a hotel, fairly locally, at Heathrow.
Via our local freebies site, various things including coat hangers, Men’s shirts, books and baby and toddler bits which totalled 4 bags.
2 bags of books to our local charity shop and 1 bag of bottles to a local charity that supports people needing food parcels as a donation to their bottle stall for a fundraising event. It did include two bottles of gin but it is a good cause !
That’s brings my total number of bags to 56.5. I’ve met my target for the year but I think I’m going to up it to 85 and see how we go. I’ve rented a storage unit from this Saturday so that we can clear out our loft (it hasn’t been sorted or cleaned since we had building work over three years ago when they removed a chimney breast in the loft without covering anything 🤦♀️ I was heavily pregnant and then had a newborn and just couldn’t deal with it then). Everything is filthy, so it’s all coming down over the next twelve weeks whilst we have the storage unit, all being cleaned and the stuff being kept off to the storage unit and everything else got rid off. Fingers crossed, it won’t send my M.E. over the edge but it’s got to be done.
Stay safe xxx

Hi all, lunch lasted until 4.45 so I didn't get to the car valet place, top of the list for tomorrow. I have sorted my clothes for the long weekend, some will need to be ironed tomorrow as they are linen and creased to bootle.
@Siebrie, I think you have the patience of a saint, if it were me I would have changed the locks while he was away and claimed he left you. I know, a bit extreme but I think you need to be clear with yourself about what YOU want. If you want to move back to your home town then that's what you should do on the proviso that the house you are living in now is sold and the money used to buy a new home for yourself and your girls. If your husband doesn't want to make the move he still has to provide for the children and that includes somewhere to live. If he is still in touch with his mistress I would challenge him about this and find out wth is going on. Much as we all want it nobody can have their cake and eat it and he needs to realise that. Arguing about traits in children is normal but I think this is just masking the other problems in the relationship as they are unique to themselves not copies of their parents, though some traits are learned behaviour. I would ask you to think about if you want them to grow up thinking it is normal for men to have extra marital relationships and women to calmly accept that. Maybe I am too militant in this regard but the unfairness of this makes me quite angry. What would he do if you were having an affair? I hope you can sort out something that is right for you and your girls in the near future.
@mothernerd , I think you do an amazing amount of work, if you did more when you were younger you must have been a veritable whirl wind
Take care everyone10 -

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILYThursday has been less sunny & occasionally a bit overcast but no rain. Also cooler & getting quite chilly in the evening ☹️ Wrote a menu plan then the shopping list. DH went to MrS & is a bit bemused that everyone seems to think Covid19 is over 🤔 🙄 judging by the lack of masks ☹️ Everything put away & meat portioned & frozen. Cleared down more programmes from planner & knitted a bit more of the 3rd baby blanket - am hoping to finish tonight before I go to bed. DH cooked cheesy pasta 😋 Wudupa & los bagged & frozen.

You have been busy vulpix 👏 I have to agree the colour scheme sounds depressing so good luck with the temporary decorating 🤞You have made an excellent start on the decorating 👏GrannyKate, hope the plumbers bill isn’t too horrific 🤞 If you can keep the pressure on BG hopefully the compensation will be a decent amount 🤞
Congratulations to DGS1 👏 Glad you are being careful with the paracetamol 🙂 Good work on the gardening 👏 & well done on having a nap 🙂Mothernerd, you are doing yourself a disservice - you consistently do a lot more than me & in two houses, regardless of how many rests you take 👏 An uneasy relationship with yourmum but you are tackling it with grace & determination. Thanks for that useful information short_bird 👏Nice to see you Siebrie 👋 Being nosy 🧐 is DH home now or still visiting family? Reading on, he is home & everything appears rather awkward. I hope, however it pans out, that you & your daughters are happy. As to the ‘character traits’ I imagine that however much parents try to keep things normal children do pick up on tension & will act accordingly. I remember you mentioned that you were trying to organise life as a family of three & I hope that those plans are coming along should the worse happen. Can you afford to get legal advice as that could be a way to set your mind at rest & also have an impartial record of the situation? I apologise if you think I am interfering 😞Lovely sentiment oceanspirit.Nice post TC77. Pleased for DD1 & hopefully she will discover that the items you are offering are far nicer than free cycle 🤞🤞Thank you for the very amusing observation about the word ‘rehab’ 😂 Well done on dealing with so many frogs 👏
Thanks for the decorating tip mehefin 👏 I think I might use that 😉
Lovely to see you StickyTheStickInsect 👋 Sounds like a lovely holiday even though quite stressful for you 😉 You have decluttered a huge amount of ‘stuff’ and been very generous with how it has been allocated. As you have surpassed your target I am awarding you another Gold Star ⭐️ I have noted your new target 😉 Good luck with the loft clearance 🤞
Nice to see you back Marpau 👋 You have been very busy - lots of decluttering, cleaning, gardening & dealing with frogs 👏 I also note that I have been remiss - one Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way for over 500 😉 + a medal 🏅 for dealing with so many frogs 👏
Liverpool_Anne, what a beautiful post. Far more ordered than my observations & hopefully Siebrie won’t think you are too militant 😉 Your comment “Siebrie….. I hope you can sort out something that is right for you and your girls in the near future” is succinctly put 👏 Like you I imagine a younger mothernerd as a whirl wind or maybe even a whirling dervish 😉MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 1539/20212021 Savings Pot: £300.90 to end of AugustBe Kind. @Siebrie Rights of Women give free legal advice and if it concerns children's welfare the coram children's legal helpline is good ( doesn't help about money but the rights of children) - i got enough help to go to.court without a solicitor/ barrister on safeguarding and money matters ( after one time a solicitor did a poor job,) but good legal help invaluable. Hope you don't mind the recommendations but can he helpful to understand your options and rights.
Mrs SD love your cheerleader and think there are money on here that are whirling dervishes! DD2 2 was originally going to paint her bedroom and the run she uses as a study neither which happened and my gardening and painting haven't happened either so having to readjust my expectations of both of us. I think if dd11 can get settled in her new place at the end of the month and and I can sort out her old room and things in September that will be sufficient. Take care everyone.7 -
mehefin,Thank you. When the time comes I will buy eggshell paint.
