Sorry to hear about feet and toes injuries, and hope you take time to recover and rest agree can be very painful. Have been focusing on frogs so did about 5 over last couple of days, down at my dad's as he's moved to a community hospital for rehab and allowed to visit so taking in clothes etc and details of the set up at home. His rubbish is collected tomorrow so went through a few things in a box - food from around 2004 through to 2019 so all out, and also a collection of tupper ware lids (counting as 2)

@Mrs SD, they were where I had left them but OH had put a load of other stuff on top of them and told me they had been moved, rolls eyes. In desperation I moved everything and found them exactly where I left them. I have asked OH to sort this stuff please
Yes I struggle a bit with the toe thing, years ago I used to have a pair of flip flops that I wore to death which were made of rubber and very comfortable but when I replaced them I could only get plastic and they tore my toes to shreds, I understand that this brand don't do that, though I haven't tried them myself but my niece wears them all the time and wears them out regularly. I suppose if you live on a sunny island and spend your time on the beach or by your pool you would wear shoes like that. I wear much more sensible sandals these days

Morning all - sorry to hear about everyone's injuries but good to hear the successes as well. I was determined I would not post until I had dealt with the croaking frog. Toothache got me up early and frog was dealt with in 30 minutes all ready for today's Z*** meeting. I am giving myself 5 points for dealing with that frog!
I have a lovely new pump fitted in 45 minutes yesterday morning. Plumber returned at teatime to replace hot water thermostat on tank. BG were aware that it was not working properly but had done nothing about it. Excessively hot water can damage the pump so he wanted to correct that asap. Blissful silence when it is not in use and much quieter when running as well. Silence from BG so far this week. No childcare to do until Friday but still hoping for dentist's appointment before next week. No luck so far but on top of pain most of time although ga-ga on paracetamol.
Nice trip out with children to local cafe and park on estuary yesterday - first time for nearly 2 years - late DH and I used to take smallest GC regularly especially in winter as very reasonable cafe with pensioner's meals (2 courses and a pot of tea) and small indoor play area as well as walks on river bank. I took them swimming again on Monday so plenty of use of membership. Next week we are going a bit further North for three nights at budget hotel. Nice setting (I've been there before) and only few miles to a beach. Not much available at any actual beach area within reasonable drive and that left is hideously expensive this year.
A couple more bits of furniture ordered from the Swedish place but it won't come until September. the new units contain quite a lot of empty space in cupboards but my plan is to continue with my paper and photo sorting and retain those momentoes which I want to keep in labelled boxes in said cupboards. Garden needs some attention so may get to that this afternoon and tomorrow.

Morning all! Sorry to hear about the aches, pains and injuries for some of you. Hope you're all on the mend soon!
Delivery from the big swedish shop arrived and I've managed to make a start on the kitchen declutter / rearranging. Counting 10 outs from all the packaging I managed to get rid of thanks to condensing some baking things down things down (who needs 3 packets of brown sugar and 2 lots of icing sugar?). Have convinced DH that we need to swap some cupboards around in there because I don't know why we have all the tea, coffee and mugs on one side of the kitchen and the kettle is opposite 🤷♀️ It's not a massive kitchen by any stretch of the imagination (you can just about get 2 people in there comfortably) but I want to make it make sense for us and how we use it. But it's going to have to wait, I need to get the last bits in the wardrobe sorted first! That's Friday afternoon's job.
Off to put a load of laundry on as it's looking like we won't get rain today, and as it's Wednesday then it's a hallway clean and tidy today according to my Team TOMM list. I'll also rope DH in so we can vacuum and wash the floors throughout too.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20177 -
Update on Freda - the tortoise. For those new to the thread, Freda was attacked by a rat after coming out of hibernation.
After several sessions at the vets with laser treatment her front leg was not getting better.
The only option was to have her leg amputated.
She recovered well from the operation and manages to get around fine now.
Freda is still living indoors at her home in my granddaughter's house. She only goes outside now if the family are out there too.
As I agreed to take care of all expenses, I've managed to declutter about £3000 so far. But she's been a family pet for over 45 years and according to the vets she has many more years left.

I have realised that I can ease up a bit on my household cleaning routine without it having too much of an impact. However, the house is more cluttered than I'd like so I need to spend a bit of time today to get it back into shape.
I've had my great-grandson over more and he's now crawling so I can't leave him for a moment. Mostly he is in nursery but a few days I've had him instead, sometimes with my granddaughter, but sometimes just me.
Now to decluttering news.

I'm sure there were many others I've forgotten to write down but this brings me to 734.
I've been on holiday with my eldest daughter for 3 days, walking in the Malvern hills for 2 days with a spa day in the middle.
I've also booked to go to Greece for two weeks as I'm unable to go to my beloved Turkey while it's still red. But I'm going with a friend I usually meet up with in Turkey so I'm sure to have a good time with her.

Oh that's good news about Freda, I do love tortoise
Today I decluttered some blood for a test and for the first time it really hurt. I generally have 4 tests a year no bother but not today and it took ages to stop bleeding, had to go for a coffee to recoverI also managed to track down a print place that does photocopies, needed a copy of something for a little private pension. Never had to worry before as I always used the photocopier at work. I tried the library first only to find they are only open Monday and Tuesday atm, then the local shops, I remember seeing a sign for photocopies but no luck there, then the post office but it's only a small one so no, and finally found a print shop. Also picked up some bread and milk on my travels. I got rid of an admin frog that has been nagging at me and I honestly don't know why I left it so long, it only took about 10 minutes
I have uu a bottle of perfume and recycled the bottle. I was lucky enough to get several smallish boxes of chocs when I left school and have decanted them into a tin and recycled the cardboard boxes. Tin now lives on top of the fridgefreezer where it is reachable but out of the line of sight so less tempting.
Tomorrow I am taking my car for a valet as it is full of sawdust from moving wombled wood and I want it clean for when I visit my niece on Friday. I really don't mind my car being a bit scruffy but I know she won't like it. I am also meeting a couple of friends for lunch so I will be decluttering some money. We are meeting in a garden centre and I will have to resist buying anything other than lunch
Take care everyone8
