Morning all. Thank you so much for the gold stars Mrs_SD, DH is pleased with his and hopefully it will motivate him to keep things tidy from now on!
2 sold items have left the building but I'm a little behind on listing the other things. Need to try and get back to it this evening so I can free up more space!
Did make an order with the big blue and yellow Swedish store for a couple of organising bits which should arrive today and will help with some of the clutter - mainly a couple of large storage boxes for things in the garage and a couple of smaller boxes for the pantry. I figured it was cheaper to pay for delivery compared to petrol and the additional cost of the extra unplanned things which would probably find their way into the trolley if I was in store.
On the list today I want to:
- List 5 items to sell
- Wash towels and clean toilet and sink
- Clean living room (it's actually relatively clean and tidy after last week's Team TOMM clean so maybe it actually works!)
- Post anniversary card for my friends
- Sort one basket from the top of the wardrobe
Hugs to those that need them and well doen to all who are eating those frogs!

1262-1266: another 5 DVD's to the charity shop pile
Listening to the Minimalist podcast and will dive back in when I've finished this coffee. A bit stuck at the moment as a) waiting to hear about a job interview and b) annoyed at estate agents who don't get back to me. So, change the things you can, right?‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILYMonday has started bright & sunny but with rain 🙄 DH is currently tidying the garage. One frog started - I have phoned my plumber & I am waiting for a call back to book annual full boiler service & check the cold water tank as it has been overflowing on & off for a week 😖
So back to cheerleading whilst I wait.
GrannyKate, pleased that paracetamol are keeping you functioning if not necessarily completely pain free. Like you I dislike taking tablets & am usually lucky enough to avoid everything other than antibiotics for gum infections. Sorry that the constant ache is getting you down & making everything seem a struggle. 50 years with your DH, no wonder you miss him ☹️Now you have the water pump hopefully your plumber is available & everything is crossed that it will completely solve your problems 🤞 Excellent decluttering especially the one in one out 👏 & keeping photos up to date 👏mothernerd, you have been busy 👏 and I am pleased that you are trying to rest your ankle even if your mum is making it difficult & trying to teach you “to suck eggs” 😞 However it sounds like you are slowly getting there despite the weather & your mum 👏 When you finally get done your bower will be lovely & you can sit outside with your cuppa or your favourite tipple & release the stresses & strains of your day. Very pleased to see that you have allowed yourself a little treat 🙂I love it nannywindow 😁 turning a negative into a positive 👏 “Pouring with rain so let’s sort out the shed” 😉 & a very succesful sort out it was 👏 So successful that I am awarding you & your DH a Gold Star ⭐️ ⭐️ each 🙂 Your poor, poor DD 🤕 sending good wishes that the X-Rays come back clear for breaks 🤞Very virtuous elsien 😇👏 Great decluttering & I hope the neighbour accepts your curtains 🤞
Excellent decluttering TC77 especially the “ugly frog” 👏 and I see you got your second wind 👏Nice to see you leelad 👋 Well done on getting the paint off the linoleum 👏 Oh to be young - broken bones heal so much quicker 🥳 Another hobby you share with your daughter 🙂 Indoor climbing has been one of the successes of the Olympics 🙂 Perhaps we will see your daughter in Paris or maybe Los Angeles 😉 Temperamental weather is wreaking havoc with many gardens 😱 Touch wood that all my tomato plants are still standing but I have to keep reinforcing the cage as they are planted in a table top bed & prone to the wind ☹️ We have not had enough sunshine to turn any of them red so I can see a lot of pots of green tomato chutney.Hopefully you & your wife & daughter can do a few things together during your week off. A couple of trips out & putting the decluttering on the back burner 😉 Good work on the admin drawer 👏
Good work oceanspirit 👏vulpix, 😖 to ignorant & rude Joe Public.Yippee to having a lodger stellata 🥳 it should definitely help with the grocery money 🤞 & probably nice to hav a bit of company 🙂Great work short_bird 👏 Were you ruthless with the DVDs?🙂
You are welcome ruby_eskimo 🙂 and I am rather chuffed that your DH is pleased with his Gold Star. As you say, it might encourage him to keep things tidy & even help with another decluttering project to earn another gold star 😉😉 You know yourself so well - always far cheaper to get things delivered especially from the Swedish store 😉 They always have so many things you never knew you needed 🤣 Now you have confirmed that TOMM works I am definitely going to investigate further (may even get DH to buy the book for me)
P.S. DH has helped out another neighbour by pumping up her car tyres (she has been with family in South Africa for a few months)MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 🥇 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 1507/20212021 Savings Pot: £300.90 to end of AugustBe Kind. Hi,
Love the ugly frog analogy 3second memory. I have eaten an ugly frog this morning, sorted out the cat micro chip thing. Next one is to chase the plumber about connecting the outside toilet.
A few odd jobs done today. Blind taken down from our bedroom. Picture hung, old handles removed from a set of drawers and a mirror hung. I have also had most of the boxes out from in the pantry and found my sewing banana box and the decorating stuff. Few things out and lots identified to go but they can stay there just now as I don't want the mess today. Repacked a few things and emptied 2 banana boxes. Listed damp course stuff on a free site.
Rude people at work were 3 different "karens". Took me all last night to process but am over it now. I wish I was one of those people who could just shrug things off.

Thanks for thoughts on toothache. I am keeping it at bay - liveable with unless I bite down on bad side. Hoping for a cancellation this week. New pump is here and plumber coming tomorrow. I haven't even asked how much as guess I have no choice. I found the old bill for 8 years ago and I was charged £166 to fit it then.
Just taken small people swimming and now cooking small gammon joint which they spotted in fridge and wanted for tea. I am sure other people's grandchildren eat fish fingers and burgers. My sister is making definite plans for a trip over from US in October so that will be great. I am looking at going over there next year with DS2 and his family. I had to cancel last years planned solo trip. DS2 came to car place with me and sorted out Saturday's problem - they didn't argue (he is 6ft 4) and just agreed to repair damage done when they changed light bulb.

1383 Newspaper to RC
1384 Electric knife sharpener which I hate to RC. I know that we had it in our second house which we moved out of in 1979 so it has done its turn.
1385 Kenwood Chef grinder attachment and jars - bought by DH in 2011 and I think he used it 3-4 times. DIL will try and sell.
1386 Couple of kitchen items to CS bag - made space for the lolly moulds I got last week

Afternoon all,
A fairly productive weekend here in the house of Finstickle, definitely helped along by a wet and windy wet play Saturday.
Two previous re-organisation jobs, moving paperwork and repurposing filing cabinet to be for sewing and taking part of the kitchen out to install a stand alone pantry had left us with a crate and a junk drawer just being kept in the sitting room for want of anywhere to keep them.
Claiming 6 - Both decluttered, drawer now gone and crate has a new home under a coffee table.
Under the sink had previously had a leak which led to DH just putting everything back without cleaning once he fixed the leak and me not being able to find anything.
Claiming 5 - full contents removed, cupboard cleaned, items decluttered as required and everything put back in order with me knowing what everything is
I also fully caught up with housework, doing the boring jobs like the stairs etc and had a good helper in my DD (2 yo) beiing determined to take on the dusting and polishing.
It's a bitty week this week, I have to go into the office tomorrow, no chance for sneaky decluttering on my 10 minute screen breaks!, and off work again Thursday. Also have stepkids coming/going throughout the week so additional general work, so we will see where we get, but happy with the weekend's progress :-)June Grocery Challenge £0/£250

Thanks for our gold stars MrsSD we shall wear them with pride.Today I binned the contents of the bedroom waste bin and a water jug filter ( replaced ) Fought my way up the side and through to the back of DH's shed, it was like hacking through a jungle as my way was full of brambles coming over from next door ( empty house ) I cut down lots of ivy and branches which were overhanging the shed, cut down a large hazel sapling that was growing up between our fence and next door, drilled holes and applied weedkiller to it's stump ( I'm hoping that will kill it off ) I filled the green waste bin with the cut down bits and some more weeds. Fixed the squeaky fence panel, it was a loose post in a metal spike and then we replaced the panel. It's not 100% fixed, but it will do for now until DH has a bit more energy instead of 10 mins work and 20 mins rest.TC77, Vulpix and MrsSD thank you for your concern about DD 🧡. After 6hrs in A&E she came out with broken toes and a chipped bone on the right foot and sprained ligaments and tendons in the left leg /ankle. She now has a short NHS boot on the right foot and a toe to knee one on the left leg/foot, plus she has a pair of crutches 😱 They could have given her a matching pair of boots though, just to be fashionable 😁 The silly thing is that she'd only been in the holiday cottage for about 2hrs ! She has now hired a wheelchair for the rest of the week so that she can do a bit of sightseeing 🦽 Unfortunately the horse riding with DGD and the trampolining with both DGC is now out, but their Daddy will do it instead, wish I could see that ! 🤣 Hopefully there will be a video 🤞🏽GrannyKate I hope you have some luck getting that cancellation. My DGC prefer a roast dinner and there's disappointment if I don't do yorkies. Oh and there always has to be a pudding of some sort.ShortBird fingers crossed about the job interview.Take care all, happy declutteringnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8
