2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

I've awarded myself 20 points for all the work I did during my week at my house and 5 for everything I've done since, making my current total 1635/2021.
Progress here is slow but I have been doing a lot of resting and reading to give my ankle a chance to go stronger. It's a little disheartening as everywhere still 'looks a mess' (the garden mainly). Mum thinks I should do 'one little bit at a time" and then clear up after myself. But these curb stones need to be moved, then stones and soil which I've dug out have to stored. The curb stones cannot be moved to where they are going to be used as it's in mum's part and would block the gate (I did ask permission and I have moved 3 and can put another 3 there) and I have to move them one at a time using the dolly truck.
I have moved several bags and boxes into the shed (diy bits and tools - which now need hours of sorting back into separate categories) and turned the frame for the old polytunnel through 90 degrees (going to be my 'bower'. That alone took half a day because so many things need to be moved (mostly stuff that was stored there over winter - 'out of the way'). The cover for the polytunnel was covering the diy stuff in the trolley but the other end was entangled in the frame so I got soaked moving things in a hurry when it rained unexpectedly. Ditto for using bits of the frame from the mini greenhouse to make plant supports - had several bits linked together and stayed outside when it rained because I had one length hanging in mid air. Not very long but long enough to have to peel my sodden tunic from my back when I got inside.
I will just keep shuffling stuff about in between showers and downpours and it should make sense by the end of the week. I'm going to plant some pepper and tomato plants in the newest raised beds. This wasn't the plan for those beds but the pile of small containers it frees up will make some of the other work much easier and I can plant up a few at a time and stack them in and around my 'bower'.A bit of a shuffle inside as twin two came to set up mum's new tv and helped me move DS2's large one and the roku box into 'my' room. Just need to find permanent homes for the drawerful of stuff that was on there (small boxes inside one of the old broken drawers).
Went on a short trip to town on Friday - two shops only until mum asked me to get a 21st birthday card which also had grand-daughter on it from a shop in the other direction and doubled the amount of time I was on my feet, even sitting down on every vacant bench (and a few children's rides - Peppa pig, who asked me what my name was and a plane called Jayjay - which I leant against when there were no vacant benches. I went to bed at 6.30 pm that night. I did have my eyebrows neatened whilst out, somewhere else I could sit down, not been done since before DS1's wedding in 2018 and not something I can do myself any more.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Had a bad day yesterday when my washing got soaked and then we got soaked taking down a squeaky fence panel. In the middle of it the heavens opened and the rain came down in sheets. However we now know why it's squeaking, so over to DH to do what he does best, to fix it. There is a silver lining as the rain came down so quickly and was so heavy we sheltered in DH's shed and did some decluttering. Our haul incudes:-1 large bag of wood shavings and sawdust..... at least 2ftsq of the floor is visible now.1 HM caravan light, we haven't had that van for 7 years.1 broken caravan towing mirrorUmpteen bits of electrical wireLots of discarded electrical tapeBits of wood and metal, too small to be of any useMany rusty screws and nailsSeveral oily rags1 empty plastic oil container1 plastic pot and paintbrush, both stuck to each otherUsed up just OOD instant mash and some lo corned beef in corned beef hashDeleted 15 emalisSent in my meter readings for gas and leccy. Not much will get done today as we are waiting for news of DD who is in A&E in North Wales awaiting x-rays on both feet/ankles 😱 They only went on hols yesterday and she's already tripped and fallen over a step in the holiday cottage. Great time they're having ! Will spend my day waiting for news and watching the Olympic closing ceremony.Take care allnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently7

I’ve had a second attempt in my bedroom, including the chest I’ve been ignoring for far too long,
Another 3 jumpers for the charity shop, and some summer skirts and shorts that with the best will in the world I won’t get into again.4 pairs of curtains - offered to a neighbour who has recently moved in and doesn’t have any; otherwise will go to the charity shop. One embroidered table cloth, probably to the recycling as it has brown marks. One carpet runner that is so old it’s gone brittle. Two cushions.
One bedspread.4 sheets and 4 pillowcasesI’m feeling quite virtuous at the moment, Now to get them out of the house before I change my mind. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.7 -
@nannywindow hoping your DD is ok, and injuries are minor and not affecting both feet , and also not too long await as many a/e are really stretched.

Afternoon MrsSD and fellow declutterers, just been catching up again on posts over the past couple of weeks. Time goes by quick. Thank you MrsSD for the medals from a couple of weeks back.
Bathroom was decluttered(ish) and cleaned thoroughly this morning. The floor had splodges of red paint from my daughter's forays into painting, she is doing well on this front, making clay figurines which make up a little family. Managing to remove the red splodges off the bathroom lino floor, so a relief all round. A few things went into recycling so it was a productive hour and a half all round.
Daughter's old air boot went to the recycling centre last week, her broken leg is now a thing of the past, took her indoor climbing yesterday. Not done this for a couple of years, and we both like it a lot. Climbed two climbing walls each (right up to the top).
Filthy weather here, my container gardening has been challenging of late with the rain and wind I had caterpillars decluttering my Brussel sprout plant, sunflowers falling over and I lost a tomato plant because it couldn't support its own weight. Have now covered the Brussel sprout plant with fleecing and the sunflowers are now in a corner protected by empty pots to stop them from falling over.
Am off work this week, so is my wife, it should be a nice week, let's see. My wife's MH isn't great at the moment, so not sure on how we will get on. First time off together really since I had to self isolate earlier on this year when my wife had covid and prior to that it would have been last Christmas. Nothing planned at the moment. Cheers 🙂9 -
Ps: have managed to half declutter the admin drawer which was groaning with the weight of paperwork. Recycled and tore up the paperwork which we did not need and I need now to file away the paperwork which is remaining. The drawer now shuts with no problem at all 🙂8

Having not had a lodger for ages I've suddenly got one again, which is great news cash wise. I'd slightly got used to having the spare room for "organising space" though so I had to move boxes and stuff out to make it nice and tidy. That'll give me a kick up the b*m to get it sorted. Not a long term lodge but I'm very grateful! Have sold a small item on eBay too so that's another £10 and a tiny space gain. I'm still aiming to raise my grocery money each month through selling, growing things and side hustles, it's been a bit thin recently but looking up with the spare room cash this month!Magnolia Stellata11
