Hi all, today I mostly slept, the past few weeks finally caught up with me. I did manage to do 2 loads of washing, pity a few hours of spectacular thunderstorms means 1 load has has several extra rinses on the line and the other load is in the laundry basket waiting to go outside tomorrow. Uu perfume sample and mini bottle and packaging recycled, uu hand cream and tube binned. Meds sorted and consolidated so extra packaging recycled. 1 admin frog started.
Watched some of the Olympics live and did a catch up on some others, I just love those dancing horses. I have a friend who attempted a dressage competition with her horse Henry. It was raining and the judges decided to sit in their cars to watch. They honked a car horn to start and Henry got properly spooked and proceeded to totally destroy the makeshift arena, stomping on all the white plastic edging. My friend only just managed to stay on him. She said the worst bit was when she finished and was bowing her head to the judges with her top hat barely staying on and thinking "I know we won't score anything but I'm just letting you know we have finished destroying the arena". Henry is a proper character and the tales she tells of his exploits keep us all laughing. There is a music festival that takes place very near his field and when it is on he refuses to come into the stables, spending the night entertaining the local constabulary lined up at the edge of his field and munching his way through the treats they bring him.

Decluttered 3 boxes of orange juice which had somehow managed to go a bit peculiar, I think it must have been the weather. Wasn't going to risk them anyway. Also a fridge full of food this week to my lovely guests, it's so good to have people in the house again. Box of too big (!) clothes ready for the chaz whenever that's taking stuff again (well it is now but only in short slots which I always miss). Potted up a tray of house plant cuttings which UU compost and reused pots.Magnolia Stellata9

Morning all.The last few days have been a bit of a blur. I’m not sleeping regular hours but I am eating roughly 3 times every 24 hour period, my house is looking lovely and I’m about halfway through the Binbags of Shame in my wardrobe.Everything is simplified, paperless and up to date - I hate to be morbid but I’ve set this up so that if, in the future, I do something mad like an expedition to the Himalayas, and never come home, it’ll be easy and quick for my children to sort things out 🤷♀️😂😂😂I’ve been asked by a friend of a friend if I would like to go on a cruise with her next year. It’s already been booked and a deposit has been paid but her travelling companion has backed out. It’s one of the very big ships which doesn’t appeal to me because of all the traipsing around but she is happy to wheel me around if needed. The selling point is the fact that she has already booked the deluxe balcony suite and, it’s right at the front of the ship. And the food! 😂
Something to think about. I don’t have to decide until after I come back from my first cruise in April11 -
Morning all, just watching the men's trap shooting while I wait to declutter all the washing. There's a clothes wash in at present, which will be followed by a towel wash and then a tablecloth and the sofa cushion covers.I seem to have decluttered all the sparrows, they were very noisy in the trowing above my bedroom window and next door's tree every day till now. They have just disappeared 🤔 I wonder what happened, they usually stay put all year round ?I too love watching the "dancing horses " and also the gymnastics, we seem to be doing quite well with our hoard of medals.Hope everyone has a good daynanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10

Hiya, we seem to be unanimous in liking dancing horses.
3 second memory, if you pass on the cruise, I am up for it! I have only ever done one cruise and I thought I wouldn't like it but I did and would do another. We went on the Queen Mary 2. It is vast, bigger than the village I used to live in. You are doing so well with all your jobs. I am also conscious of what I will leave behind for my family.
One of my new rules in this house is nothing in the loft. Everything is in the house and eventually I will whittle it down to things in use or very precious. I had a good root in the pantry on Tuesday and got some decorative stuff out and sorted plenty for a car boot. Work yesterday and I have been asked to do more days and change to working Sundays. That has ended my car boot Empire for the time being. If the weather forecast is good I will swap with someone and do one.
I am coming round to thinking that I don't need many possessions at all. I am ok about releasing things but will do it slowly, The house is so small I will just make a massive mess and then have nowhere to store the items waiting for dispatch. I have a Laura Ashley lamp and an Edwardian chair in the sitting room waiting for a sale on FB. When they go I will list a few more things and have them in the sitting room until their departure. The car boot stuff is in the shed with the dismantled studio.
I don't know what has happened to make me able to release things that previously I thought was precious. Maybe moving to a small house and not wanting it to feel like I live in a seaside gift shop window.

Just popping back to report cupboard of doom has been opened, dun, dun, dun 😱Ready for the cs :-10 of my books from the 60's, mostly Bunty's and Judy's. ( Kept some for DGD along with a few Topper's and Beano's.)Trivial pursuit (mainly questions from the 90's)Electronic sea battle game ( like Battleship)221 Baker Street board game."Quiz game" still boxed, can't ever remember using it.Ready for the scrappy man:- the motor from a patio cleaner.Vulpix I too am coming to the conclusion that I don't need to keep so much stuff. I am fighting a bit of a battle with DH though as he likes to keep things for Justin.nan
