I have spent a very boring morning going through my computer discs to see what was on them. I did find some photos I thought were long gone, which was lovely. The rest were mainly for computers I no longer possess and jobs I no longer have and have now been binned. Some were so old the files were no longer supported. Also got a denim jacket for the charity shop pile and binned two knackered laptop bags. It’s definitely a crawl rather than a sprint. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.9 -

Also, neighbour popped round to do a small maintenance job for me which means I can arrange for the next thing in the process to be done.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅9 -
Part two of the garage clearance has been completed today. All the camping and van stuff has gone in the van for now,. Most of it will be given away.
I also found some protector attachments for child stairgates. I was given two gates a few weeksa go and was going to buy these items so now I don't. I have two great babies on the way, and as acting grandma I want the house safe.
We cleared shelves, got everything off the ground, assigned shelves and cleared off my DHs loaded workbench. We also made some standing room for some of the old tools. We have one more shelf to sort and all the camping stuff. Then we are done.
We have also got rid of two bin liners of rubbish and have a bag of metal and paint for the tip. We are limited on tip visits round here so I am waiting until my car is full.
@TC77 I think of wombling generally as picking up stuff people have left out. Neighbours or not. Sometimes I also find it isn't quite what I want but usually there is someone else out there who is interested.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. I've started on an admin thing which is really sad and uncomfortable so I've been avoiding it for weeks. Has to be done though so I took the plunge and the first letter is stamped and ready to go albeit in a recycled envelope adorned with tippex and sellotape as I couldn't find any new ones. It won't matter. Still lots to do on this and I'm not looking forward to it but a little step each day is manageable I hope.I tidied up my "utility box" which is what I have instead of a room to keep washing powder and cloths and things in. Much decanting and combining and I've binned 3 containers and half a dozen worn out cloths. Cleaned my ancient washing machine too, it must be nearly 20 years old but it still works well. This winter I'm getting a dryer (£ allowing) as I'm a bit tired of losing my spare room to the clothes horse half the year. The dryer will have to go in there unfo but I'm sure if I put a cloth over it when I'm not using it it won't look too odd. Or maybe it will but better than a rack festooned with knickers.Magnolia Stellata10

@bit_by_bit ...I do like the wombling, and realise I've done much of this, picking things up from others and then taking to the CS or being able to pass on to others.
I've started reading the mottoes/saying at the bottom of posts - very inspiring!
Visit to hospital as DD1 worried about her surgery healing - told all ok and sensations are part of healing process but managed to help her to report accident so a big frog eaten! 1377
ood food 1378
paper declutter 1379
Email sorted/written 1380
Decided I like my new planner/Diary and a pocket at the back for putting some lists without them getting lost, fingers crossed it turns out as promising as I hope!
My frogs appear to be multiplying far faster than they are getting eaten
@stellata, well done for starting the admin thing...sounds really tough but hope starting it will make the next step easier.11 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
I stayed all night on the sofa in the vain hope that I could wake DH up at 7.00 a.m. so he could leave the house by 8.00 a.m. to go Round Britain Rallying around Wales. Fortunately he got himself up, got ready then woke me up to say goodbye 😂 I had a cup of tea, watched some Olympics then went to bed. Got up again about 11.30 a.m. Had a nice chat with a neighbour who moved 11 years ago but kept the house as a rental property. He, his wife & his 2 daughters 13 & 10 were just popping in to check on the property.
Have done nothing apart from a bit of reading, a bit of knitting & catching up on the Olympics. Dinner was chicken fried in butter with boiled potatoes & peas which DSis & I thoroughly enjoyed. Wudupa. Currently watching The Book Club, another lovely film.DD phoned about 6.30 p.m. safely ensconced in his hotel room. Had one bout of heavy rain & got slightly damp but was dry again within 30 minutes as the sun came out & stayed out. He sent a photo of his soup & sandwiches dinner - plenty to fill him up 😉 All in all he has had a good day 🙂
1462 - 1463 Kitchen recycling, large plastic bottle - recycled1464 - 1465 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - binnedThanks for the unexpected hugs balabooberlies 👏 gratefully received& right back at you 🙂Love the post 3secondmemory 🙂 FantasyMe is slim, fit, has servants & “lunches” 🤣
Sorry about the squirrels mothernerd ☹️ but the advantage is usually they are not very noisy 😉😉Ah yes elsien but you can get more done if you crawl rather than sprint - quicker recovery time 😉😉Good work oceanspirit 👏
Excellent work on the garage clearance bit_by_bit 👏 Surprising what you can find - Justin can be useful occasionally & save you money 🙂👏Excellent work greent 👏 Is DS3 finally on board with the decluttering or is it a case of him liking it or lumping it 😉😉
Well done stellata 👏 Starting a sad & uncomfortable admin frog has earned you a Gold Star ⭐️ and also lots of positive vibes & my admiration for starting. As you say a little step each day will hopefully be manageable 🙂 Great work on the “utility box” & well done for taking care of your washing machine 🏅- almost 20 years old 🙂
TC77, wombling is such a lovely word & as long as you are not keeping everything 😉 it is a rather useful & eco friendly hobby 👏 Very pleased to hear that DD1 had her mind put at rest - worrying tends to slow down the healing process ☹️ Well done on dealing with theaccident reporting frog 👏 Good luck with your new planner/Diary 🤞Sounds like your frogs are breeding like rabbits ☹️ but I have every faith that they will all be eaten in a timely fashion 🤞🙂MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 🥇 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 1465/20212021 Savings Pot: £300.90 to end of AugustBe Kind. Thanks, Mrs SD. Ds3 will grump about the tidying and sorting but not in too bad a way and will do it a bit each day (using a timer) so it will all be ok in the endI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £209
