I had grand plans for the weekend but unfortunately DD was sick which meant lots of cuddles and attention were required. I did manage to read a book in 3 days and finish a pair of trousers I was sewing for myself alongside the cuddles so not a wasted weekend, just not as productive as I had hoped.
I can look around and see what needs my attention next which is positive in that it should make for some quick actions, negative in that I can see the unnessecary all around me!
34 - email unsubscribed
35-37 - 3 x reuseable water bottles, all had been upgraded due to size or leakage
38 - a top of mine which has a stain I can't seem to get out, I've shrunk out of it a bit as well so reluctant to spend further energy
39 - another pair of knickers
40-41 - 2 x kids puzzles
42-44 - storage boxes from rearranging the downstairs toy section
I did make a successful sale on EBay as well, however that person had also bid on another item so didn't pay for mine and requested a cancellation. Item has been re-listed and i've had a fresh bid already, just annoying and frustrating when people act like that - if you don;t want both, don't bid on both!!!
Anyway, here's to a positive and successful week x

We sadly had to have my dog put to sleep this weekend.
I've been doing some decluttering today to take my mind off it. We are making another trip to the dump this Friday and that will definitely be the last time we do that before we move! Two shelves, a garden box, a garden chair and various miscellaneous stuff to be taken.

Vulpix- we love it here- it is like 50 years ago here in the countryside. We found our bungalow in the same region in which we had a small holiday cottage for over 20 years. I was also a teacher of French so we don't have problems with officialdom. One reason I think is that officialdom here is well-staffed, especially the health service, so officials arn't overworked. With Covid we are truly happy to be here- Macron has lots of measures still in place and the schools were kept open all this last school year.If only the UK govt. would accept our double Pf*z*r vaccines we could visit our family in the UK. Like anywhere there are plusses and minusses , but , for us, it's a super plus.
Only two books from my stash which I really want to reduce- to CS
total now 293/365
Hugs for you all and keep safe everyone7 -

@Wednesday2000 so sorry to hear about your loss
@ruby_eskimo what a massive declutter... would take me months to do so much
@oceanspirit a master list with categories sounds excellent, I have lots of bits of paper, I saw a 21/22 academic calendar with week and monthly planner and debating whether it would be helpful, but some sort of single, master list would be good. I think its vulpix who has three notebooks tied together with an elastic band, which sound v practical and low tech which I like!
1340 - 1345 6 tumblers collected, really lovely but have too many and 1346 packaging
1347 - 1349 admin frogs moved along, found electrician not done what they should - not sure I can stand an argument, emails sent.
DD1's surgery rearranged for tomorrow and been told will be first, so fingers crossed,
1351 decided to use a hardly used one of DD2's exercise books for notes rather than buying a new one.
Having stayed with friends at the weekend, suggested our next get together is at mine ! would make me clear more - last time everyone stayed was about 10 years ago before I started gathering so many belongings and realise quite embarrassed about stated of my house (not hoarding but cluttered, messy and neglected). So will stick with it here and keep chipping away.
Take care everyone x

Hi all, I have been a bit busy since my last post what with end of term etc. My last day was lovely but I was chasing my tail to get everything done. On Saturday I spent a huge amount of time trying to sort out a thing on my phone, even took a trip to the phone shop, they couldn't sort it.
It was OH birthday yesterday and we went to visit relatives about 1.5 hours drive away for a scrummy lunch in the garden and a very pleasant afternoon. 1 of the relatives is a whiz on technology and managed to sort my phone problem so a very good day.
As a consequence of my leaving and OH birthday we now have loads of presents everywhere that need sorting and a lots of gift bags to be sorted and stored. We also have lo roasted veg and birthday cake in the fridge
Today I have sawn 4 pallets for winter but they still need to be properly stored and some of the larger pieces need further chopping and 1 pallet still to be tackled. They keep saying it is going to be cooler and we are supposed to be getting rain but it was still very hot here today and no sign of rain.
I have lost count of everything I have put in the bin both at work and here at home but the recycling wheelie bin has gone out tonight full so I must have been sorting something.
I have decluttered a load of emails and unsubscribed a few but still have loads to sort.
Decluttered money on car insurance today but managed to get the quote reduced when I told them I was now retired and would not be using the car for work.
@retiredinfrance I am not sure how easy it would be to emigrate now post brexit but French was always my worst language so even for a bungalow I don't think it would be for me. I don't think it is the pf###r vaccine that is the problem, OH had that one, I think it is just the totally illogical rules being put in place by the gubberment. Honestly they seem to change depending on which office you speak to, and almost daily. Sil and bil travelled to Germany today to visit their son and grandchildren, last week they were told they would need a negative test, expensive but they booked and paid for it on Saturday but were told on Saturday they didn't need it. Too late to unbook.
A bit achey as I seem to have caught a summer cold, been lateral flow testing every day for a week, all -ve so it must be something else but I am heading to bed with a drink and a paracetamol.
Hugs to all who want them
Take care everyone9 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉😔 so busy watching wall to wall Olympics that I forgot to post yesterday 😔
Sunday was a wet, miserable dark day with thunder & lightning ☹️ but at least the garden got a good watering 🙂 & we managed to avoid the flooding that was a feature of several places in London 🙂
Dinner was pasta with hm bolognese sauce with plenty of sauce for a cottage pie & a bag for the freezer. The lo pasta will be used for Tuesday’s dinner - baked with added mozzarella & sliced tomatoes.Monday the expected rain never arrived. DH repaired the vent in the Goldwing windscreen, filled the bird feeders & did a bit digging out of tree stump/roots. DSis did her washing but wasn’t brave enough to hang out on the whirligig & opted for using the td. Thoroughly enjoyed watching more Olympics & great results in the swimming, diving, mountain biking, Taekwondo etc. A bit more knitting, sorted my post & made dinner. Cottage pie made with bolognese meat sauce with added frozen vegetables & topped with cheesy mash 😋 + a side of frozen vegetables. Wudupa.1422 - 1427 Kitchen recycling x 2, drinks cans x 2, cardboard packaging, Uu washing liquid container - recycled1428 - 1430 Kitchen detritus x 2, lr detritus - binnedThanks for that whiteguineapig 👏What a lovely post leelad 🙂 A simple pleasure in watching your daughter be creative & nice to see that electronic devices were not involved 😉 You have earned a medal 🏅 for sorting out the bath screen 🙂 that is a huge frog dealt with & has given me the encouragement to sort out one of my frogs tomorrow 🤞Your gardening is going well & you have reminded me to feed my tomato plants - like you I have green tomatoes ☹️“Purposeful decluttering” & “Be ruthless, be bold” are really good mantras 👏Keep up the good work & hopefully your wife will gradually notice the benefits of your approach to decluttering & will feel able to join in.
I remember that sketch mothernerd & have just watched it again 🙂 Just as funny as the first time I ever heard it with the added bonus of no smut or cursing 🤣Very impressed greent 👏 One medal 🏅 for successfully persuading DS2 aboard the Decluttering Charabanc 👏 Fingers crossed that DS3 will climb aboard in the not too distant future 🤞
vulpix 😱 how much 😱 that is a huge amount - a decent deposit on a house 😉 Very pleased that you enjoyed yourself though & one for the memory banks 🙂 Will you be selling the dress? I thoroughly agree with your comment about leelad - well said 👏Excellent work on starting the process of tackling a ‘frog’ Very impressive work in the garden - so much so that one Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way. Your builder sounds like a real gem 🙂 Sending positive vibes that a bungalow becomes available sooner rather than later 😉 Exciting times indeed vulpix 🙂 Hope you managed both the cs & Tip trips 🤞Well done bit_by_bit 👏 A camper van - how exciting 🙂
Brilliant work Gem-gem 👏 you & DH have been very busy 👏
At least you are making progress GrannyKate 👏 I keep finding excuses not to deal with my admin frogs 😔 Well done on the sale even if the cash raised is already earmarked to go out 🙂
What a huge decision that was retiredinfrance, but it is working for you 🙂 The problem with HMRC is that once they have your name they don’t want to let you go 😖 It would be amusing IF it wasn’t so stressful 😔 Well done on the decluttering 👏 & your new number means a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 🙂 Sounds idyllic retiredinfrance 🙂 Definitely a good career choice being a French teacher 😉
Good work EnergyShifter 👏
🤩 3secondmemory that IS a large number of balls to be juggling 😱 but you are persevering and making huge inroads on everything 👏 I take it your son ignored all the messages? Good luck with getting rid of the plague of frogs 🤞(went off at a tangent & looked up which number it was - number 2 of 10 😂😉) Yippee to fantasy life 🥳
Great work Happy_Kitties 👏
Sounds like you had a lovely time with your friends TC77 🙂 Another person putting me to shame by dealing with admin frogs 😉 What a shame for your daughter but as you say at least she can be glad that she isn’t the emergency. Good news about the rescheduled surgery 🤞 Now that is what I call an incentive to declutter - having friends to stay 🙂👏What a great result ruby_eskimo 👏 Finding & disposing of so much clutter immediately - one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way. Keep up the good work 👏
A great start oceanspirit 👏 I too am guilty of having lots of little lists but you have inspired me to follow your excellent example 👏
Finstickle, I hope your DD is feeling better after all the cuddles & attention. Great decluttering 👏 Fingers crossed that your new buyer does not let you down 🤞
So sorry to hear the news about your dog Wednesday2000 ☹️ Hugs are offered.
You have been busy Liverpool_Anne👏 What a result - a lovely visit with family AND getting your phone sorted 🥳 Very pleased that I am not the only one who thinks our gubberment have lost the plot 😖 unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be anyone to hold them to account & B…s is a complete & utter insert appropriately rude & descriptive word 😉 - I have many words but don’t want to get banned 😉😉 Hope you feel better soon. Is the historyof art course free ?
If it is............can you share details ?
TC77 ...........thank you
bala
xYou get access to current and archived educational courses. The majority are totally free and some you can pay for an optional certificate at the end.You don’t have to buy any resources and all the course material is online. In fact a lot of the lectures are already on YouTube. There are also introductory courses on open University. I think my original Google was – how can I study art for free
I decided that as I’m going to Europe to visit some art galleries, it wouldn’t do any harm to brush up on European art and the course I’m following is 9 weeks of 2-3hr long video presentations and quizzes. It’s run by Madrid University. Although it’s archived, once you register to borrow the materials, you will get notifications and recommendations for the live webinars which are part of modern COVID Uni-life anyway.
My first webinar is at 9 o’clock this morning. It’s called art history is fun and it’s an introduction and overview.I also had a link for four half hour videos called how to read a painting. I’m rather pleased I’ve got something I can look forward to watching 😃12
