1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉Saturday was a dark, miserable day ☹️ DH watched the qualifying for the MotoGP races then zizzed some worm food & starting cutting the planks for the replacement raised bed.
DSis spent most of the day in her room. I did sweet ……… Dinner was unhealthy but yummy 🤤 & used up quite a few los & items from freezer - sausages, burgers, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, sautéed lo potatoes & lo sweet potatoes, fried lo mash & peas + a fried egg for me & DH. Wudupa.

I beg to differ bit_by_bit 😉 You have decluttered the preparations for a selling spree 👏

Hi good people of Declutterville
Today we will get the desk out of the loft, take it and the electrical gubbins that is the studio to the shed at the new house. No time to set it all up again atm and I want to move or sell the shed anyway! Garden takes priority over studio any day! Mr V may not agree.
Also take 2 bags for life of stuff for car boot to my Mum's. We will also empty the big floor to ceiling cupboard in the kitchen. It isn't stuffed as I have never really known what to put in it. It contains DIY stuff and the printer and office (pepper box from Lidl) I think there are some lampshades in there too. If I don't use them at the new house I think they will be released.
Good news, our tennant phoned yesterday to say she has moved out. She was due to go next week. This means we can ferry car loads of boxes all this week.
We can have leftovers for meals. After 40 odd years of cooking, I am so over it.
We still not had any rain, I may live to regret saying that.

Not much cluttering again this week and weight still only 1lb lost this time round. Going to see DB3 next weekend. We nearly lost him last year to recurrence of Big C and then Covid but he's hanging in there. It was awful not being able to visit at all. He loves to cook so that does not look good for diet. My oldest DB would have been 80 tomorrow - the years have flown by. The best thing about the decluttering is I have so much empty space and things are quickly and easily put straight away. For me that is the biggest psychological boost and knowing there are not boxes and cupboards of unknown stuff lurking. There are some physical things left but a lot of the remainder will be on the computer - I try to do a few everyday.
GCs decided to stay with me last night as they haven't been much this week and mummy is working. Taking them home for Sunday lunch with daddy for Father's Day in a bit - their half brother and sister will be there and mummy gets a break for lunchtime as well. They were a bit crabby with each other yesterday but seem better after a good night's sleep. Gave DS2 a break as his asthma and hay fever have been bad this week.
1076-1085 - Folders of old DH photos saved or deleted
1086 - Daily random weeding
1087 - Fridge stuff to go to DS2 with me for children's pudding
I am on the last page of the large notebook on my desk - I use it to scribble things and record items going out. I won't count it till it goes but another off the pile. 2 half used A5 books staring at me from the shelf - they will be used up next. I love stationery and still wander aimlessly down that aisle in shops but 'just looking' I promise.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Lost my arduously long, yet cathartic post also. I can hear the sighs of relief. You guys don’t realise how much I have to script things before I can commit to actually posting it 😂😂. You are very lucky that I don’t write as I think! It would be so random and fast, you’d be left thinking that you need therapy 😂😂😂
Quick recap then.
I’m stuck at Washing-ton Grand Central - can’t get anything dry! Can’t walk around much either but that’s another story.I’ve got 7 bags of clothes - so far. I’m going to go back through my wardrobe with a different set of eyes. I got some good fashion tips from my daughter - she complimented me on my figure which helps. My youngest just said me that I had good veins 😂😂 (he’s a nurse not a vampire btw😂)
My new focus is a cruise next April. I’m treating it as the holiday of a lifetime because, none of us know what’s going to happen in the future. Even if it’s cancelled due to Covid, I’ve already had 2 really enjoyable Days just planning it.One thing that was stopping me was having to take someone with me and share a cabin. I found a way to get around that 😃 Smaller boat, 24 hr private butler, business class flights 😃 It costs the same as taking a ride-along on a Floating Flavela 😂😂
One of my bugbears is people assuming that I don’t mind who I take on holiday as long as they wheel me round a bit in a wheelchair. That’s not how it works! The plan for today was to make a trip (maybe 2) down to the shopping village on the bus with some of this stuff. I can’t keep track of how much I have de cluttered but I do know that I’ve only put three items in the bin that I feel guilty about. Everything else has been conscientiously recycled, repurposed, donated. It takes a bit longer to find everything a good home but it’s worth it.My July goal is to start selling stuff - I need to have a clear space in a clear head to be able to start that so it’s onwards and upwards.Have a good day one and all 😃
did you know Alexander Dumas who wrote the The Counte of Monte Christo was black? That has blown my mind and I want to go back and read it again. Holiday booklist 😂11 -
850-861: 1200 photos deleted
862-863: 2 GB data deleted
864-880: 17 fling boogie including 2 bags of rubbish out of the house.
Hope all are doing well... There may be more out today as I could really do with a quick win.
The printer is coming back on Thurs or Fri - woohoo! - so I'll take the opportunity to deep clean the corner it's going back into.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

39 items paperwork to be shredded
This brings my total to 511 which is over the halfway mark. I will keep the momentum up as much as I can as I want to be at goal by the end of November.
OH cleaned the living room for me today and in order for him to be able to do this I had to move lots of stuff out of there. It is now in the little bedroom and my room. I don’t want it in either room. I am soooo fed up with moving things from one room to another and can’t wait to have all the excess gone and everything which is staying properly organised so it doesn’t fall out of cupboards or have to be moved in order for daily life to take place,

Thanks Mrs SD for your kind words.@3secondmemory. The Counte of Monet Christo is one of my favourite book of all time. I didn't know he was black either.
I have been to Stockport today and helped clear out a cupboard to sideboards and a pile of paperwork for my BiL and SiL.
I have come home wioth a car full of stuff, some ofr the cs and some for the tip. Some to go back after repair or sorting ( 2 huge tool boxes). None of it will have a permanent residence in my house.
One small set of shelves has been donated to BiL to put his tools on in his cupboard so one large item out.
This set of shelves used to be a wall unit and then has had various roles in my house and in DD student halls as she moved around. They are at least 50 years old and will probably stay where they are now for another few years. The windowed doors were made into fancy sindow for my shed, they are still there despite the shed being worst for wear.

Even after getting rid of so much I am over whelmed.
DD1 phoned and asked if we would like some help. She is a star. We took 3 car loads of boxes to the new house and she took 2 car loads. That was just the boxes from down stairs and it fills the kitchen! We also put stuff in the shed. Already I am thinking that if we never acquire another thing we will still have far too much. I shall have to be ruthless when I unpack. There is a bedroom full of boxes to go yet. Plus the few bits of furniture that I haven't sold! We will make a few more trips tomorrow and DD1 and BF are coming on Tuesday after work to help with some furniture. I also have some very heavy stone troughs to go and lots and lots of plants in pots.
Whilst Mr V was watching the footie I spent a couple of hours in the garden. Did a bit of weeding and potted some nasturtiums up which had self seeded. There are other plants which I want to take but I am leaving as late as I can so I don't need to water them. Had about a pound of strawberries from the garden too. I usually make jam but I have packed the scales. Ate loads and froze the rest.
Loft now empty, built in cupboard now empty. Almost everything is packed. I think I will clean each room as it is emptied and then shut the door.
We will move after the wedding next Saturday, not sure of the date.
Even though we still have too much stuff, I am pleased with how much we have rehomed. Our new house is near a canal and I was daydreaming about living on a boat. That may be just a step too far!
