well done all done for chipping away plus recognising no longer helpful behaviours - maybe we all struggle with that idea of "for best" and I know I don't like using something I love as "it will wear out". I'd rather wear something I don't like and keep all my lovely (to me) stuff and my favourite garments in the wardrobe. Daft. I'm better nowadays at using my favourites but I still find myself naturally wanting to bypass the item I'd rather wear in favour of an old t-shirt etc. And using old trainers rather than the boots I love again in case I wear them out. since I have about 50 pairs of botos I dont think ill be wearing them all out any time soon lol.

The secret is 'do it'9 -
Counting 47 for yesterday, including
- bits of tree stump in the green bin (more done yesterday),
- going through a pile of the 'sweepings' from round the bed - useful items (secateurs, 2 seed packets, 2 pencils, a pen, a ribbon, lip balm, suncream and many more) extracted, rubbish in the bin. Reserved judgement on the silver sequins but later 'planted' them amongst the cabbages with the Scotch marigold seeds I collected last year - too difficult to separate the two,
- 2 use ups, cut the tubes in half 3 days ago and have scraped the contents out each day
- mum had burnt a large hole in one of my teatowels so I cut it up and added it to the rag bag
- dirty clothes into a bag for life and the area between the bed and the door cleared
- worked my way along the side of the bed, between the bed and the wardrobes. Can put clean clothes in the wardrobe and since I restocked the kitchen from the wardrobe store last week (only room for 3 cans of beans/ tomatoes/ soup etc in kitchen) I may have half a shelf more storage - okay mum had used up the washing tablets and the spares were in there as well
- used the garden fork over 2.5 metres of garden bed (in stages, some standing and then sitting), dug it over later, used a stiff broom to remove all the loose soil and then released all the stones being held in the tall composter and spread a roughly 2" layer (will do more stomping and smoothing today)
- 14 items that had been 'kept' in the shed binned, including a pull cord switch that I think came from one of those heater/ light things from the seventies? I have plans to paint the 'long past use' tools and use them as plant supports.
- started bags/ containers for paper, recycling, large bottles (to be reused outside), rags, bags for life + odd carriers, rubbish (full again but will be added to the kitchen bin before it goes out today), garden stuff and crafts. All of these were added to throughout the day
- new clothes line put up and clothes hung
- went round the garden collecting bottle tops (one task not counting individual bottle tops). It's easier to cut the bottles with the tops on but if being used for watering the tops are no longer needed
- folded up a builders' bulk bag, a tarpaulin and the cover fro the mini greenhouse and made a neat pile away from where I needed to work.
Please can someone send me some rain. We had a tiny amount overnight on Saturday - some of the soil was damp but other areas and the paving remained bone dry. We had thunder Sunday and yesterday and it actually started to rain yesterday (I was going to stay out and dance in it) but then it decided not to.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -

You know they say that having visitors spurs you to tidy up? Well we seem to have uninvited small furry visitors. Sigh.On the plus side, in between working I have washed, cleaned and tidied away everything in the kitchen! All veg is now in the fridge (hopefully that will be safe). Usually leave clean washing up on the draining board overnight so now plan to:
put all clean crockery etc away each night
take out food rubbish every day to communal bins
make sure everything is away preferably in tins, jars or plastic tubs.
it’s been a long time since the kitchen has been this clean and declutteredworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?8 -
Floss I don't know if I am coming or going. This time last week my solicitor was concerned that he had had no contact with their solicitor. The Estate Agent had to chase that up. When I met the buyers I asked them if they wanted to complete before the end of June and they said no,that they were not in a rush. The needing a central heating check and date of next Monday to complete was sprung on us yesterday afternoon. They say that they are not able to complete on any other day but Monday. There is no time for us to get a removal firm as it is too short notice. We have bent over backwards for them but it has stressed me so much. I had a panic attack earlier. Most unlike me,I don't usually get stressed. I will not have time to clean properly for them but at this stage I don't care. I am sorry that I cleaned the range cooker so well this morning now!
Anyway enough of that nonsense. Several trips tonight with the help of DD1 and BF. They live an hour away so we really appreciate their help. Managed to take some very heavy oak drawers and the washing machine. They couldn't lift a stone sink into the car so may have to try and sell it.
We have had no rain to speak of for weeks now. I think I will dig some plants up to take with me. I am beyond caring now.
