2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

I would like to join in too please. I need to declutter paperwork, clothes and craft materials.
My plan for 2020 included losing weight, and as I dropped a size, to get rid of clothes in the larger size. Unfortunately I am finishing the year heavier than I started. 2021 is the year I will make this happen, without fail.
I will complete all craft projects I have started. If I can't motivate myself to finish a project, I will donate it to someone who will. I will then take a hard look at what I can realistically achieve. I tend to start something, them put it away when something more interesting pops up.
I will stop keeping papers that I don't need. I will sort through old family photos and if I don't recognise the people in them, they'll have to go.
I need to finish the work I started at home. I still have some plumbing, joinery, and tiling to be done. I need some new carpets and the place needs decorating.
I think I'll go with 2021 items in 2021. (and 52lb in 52 weeks).January 2021 Frugal Living limit £339.50, target £300

Welcome to our merry band, pamsdish 👋 I believe there are a few posters who have used the Lockdowns to their advantage 🙂 unfortunately I am not one of them 😔 As you say, there was great enthusiasm at the start but to my mind the ravings & flip-flopping of our politicians meant that my spirit was eroded on a daily basis 😡 Thank heavens for all you lovely people using the MSE OS FORUM 👏 You are all keeping me relatively sane & I must admit that I do enjoy cheering on the Declutter Gang 😉
🤞that breaking your habit is a quick & painless exercise 🤞 Apart from seeing family & friends the one thing I really do miss is being able to pop into a pub for a couple of beers ☹️ Once a month I would pop in, grab a table, have a beer or three & read a newspaper.Martin would definitely approve of your MSE inspired decision to start 2021 with a clean slate 👏
Looking forward to reading about your decluttering successes & maybe a few doggy tales 😉
Thanks for joining in 👏

I will join in, please. I did a fair bit of tidying and decluttering in 2020, but stopped counting when we went into lockdown, so no idea whether I met targets or not.
Aiming for decluttering 2021 out in 2021. Also a fair bit of decorating to do!2021 - mission declutter and clean - 0/202115 -
I have a friend who is obsessed with quilt covers, she buys new ones every month and passes on her "old" ones, she gave me 2 yesterday, with the comment or charity shop, which adds to my pile, will have a sort out and photo for facebook, then we can decide what to do with the cash, probably donate to charity.Do I need it or just want it.17

Thanks for the very warm welcome Mrs SD. I've just convinced DH to make a trip to the tip this weekend so we can start getting rid of some of the things lurking in the pile of doom like old keyboards and a very tired and broken coffee machine along with some old curtains and associated curtain rod that came down last weekend. Also going to try and list a couple of things on ebay for collection and see what happens.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201717

Please please may I come aboard? Over the last few years I've reduced the rubble from 28 years of large-family life quite significantly, but there are 4 areas of our home that still look like Hoarding Central. 1) the sewing room, also emergency "spare" bedroom, which is piled high with stuff waiting to go for sale on my market stall as well as the stashes of 3 manic stitchers, myself & our 2 DDs, both still at home. We make stuff for our own use, to give away and also to sell, and I do regularly give away scraps and over-stocks. 2) the porch, where things that are still needed, but not often, live. I need to work out what's no longer needed at all. 3) the garage, half full of stall equipment (needed) and "remaindered" stock waiting to be flogged off at car boot sales for pennies - hmm... And 4) the workshop, which is ridiculously cluttered & unusable as is. It contains a lot of camping equipment, much of it still in use by various offspring & myself, garden & DIY tools, and all OH's uncle's old tools, no longer usable but apparently sacrosanct. Plus an awful lot of random rubbish; old school books, rusty clip files, holey tarpaulins etc. I'm taking some to the Tip imminently, but it's about one-tenth of what has yet to go!
We have a lot of rooms, but they're all fairly tiny, so we really don't have space to hang on to anything that is neither useful nor beautiful. Time to tackle it!Angie - GC Jun 25: £309.06/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)20 -

I'm joining in again!
Thanks to Mrs Salad Dodger for starting a new thread.
I got my husband to drop off a donation bag to the chazzer yesterday. I assumed the charity shops might close after today.18
