Welcome aboard the 2021 Decluttering Charabanc 👋
retiredinfrance had a very good thought “decluttering as a new hobby” I was rather taken with that 😉 if we can think of decluttering as a hobby & NOT a chore perhaps decluttering will be easier 🤞 Just a thought that might help us all along in our quest to have a clutter free home.
Nice to see you ScarletRibbons 👋 A maintaining declutter sounds perfect - gives us all hope & a target to aim for 👏
Welcome back villagelife 👋 Target noted - 2021 in 2021. Isn’t it great when the DH is on board 😉 you & I are very lucky 😊
You are very welcome KatyLovesCats 👋 Nice to see a new face 🙂 I think you will find we are a friendly, helpful & occasionally amusing group 😉 Good luck with the job hunt & the weight loss. If you need a boost re the weight loss there is a lovely thread “Old Style Weight Loss” - I have been reading along but have yet to commit even though I need to lose at least 2 stone initially ☹️ Good luck with the clothes decluttering 🤞
Yippee 🥳 another new face. Welcome ruby_eskimo 👋 No targets are required - after all decluttering is a hobby 😉 Hopefully your quiet Christmas will give you a boost on your decluttering journey 🤞
🥳 another new face. Welcome Viking_mfw 👋 Target noted. Exciting times - knocking down a wall - are you doing it yourselves or getting someone in? You will find that I am rather nosey 😉
vulpix, Lovely to welcome a seasoned declutterer 👏 & someone who has brought a smile to my face 🙃 - your DH having a clutter problem 😆 but obviously not you 😉 I do love your Mission Statement vulpix 👏 REHOME, REPAIR & REPURPOSE reminiscent of Make Do, Mend & Minimise.Yippee 🥳 nannywindow is back with us 👏👏 Once you have decluttered all your decorating, I will see you at my place 😆 only joking 🙃 - I am hoping that you will inspire me to get on with our decorating 😉
Welcome aboard Betharooni 👋 Sorry to hear about your health problems but hopefully 2021 will be a better year. An excellent list of plans for 2021 👏 & if you have plenty of help I can see success in your future. Half the battle of decluttering is getting the other members of the household on board as well 🤞
Welcome aboard boultdj 👏 Hopefully we can persuade the black dog to leave you alone in 2021 - send him off on a long walk off a short pier. Perhaps thinking of decluttering as a hobby might help? It is lovely to see you boultdj & here’s to 2021 being a more normal year.
Yippee short_bird 🥳 back with us for 2021 👏 Looking forward to reading about your plans 🙃
2021 here we come 😀

I think the pouch is part homing pigeon, not even the cat can scare it off.
I know I need to declutter some weight, I also need to sort out my crafting stuff, use it up or see if I can sell some of it.
Cleaning as a hobby, hum, nothing to lose by trying that.
What I have done is block in my diary 15 mins cleaning time for next year, on a to do list.£71.93/ £180.0013 -
Thanks, Mrs. SD. Without your inspiration, support and hard work keeping track of us all , we would be cranky ,stressed and tired trying to find some object lost in the clutter. I will be joining the 2021 challenge bringing with me the total so far for this year. I'm off now to this year where I recount the very short tale of two strange objects found in a drawer today.
Stay safe everyone.14 -
Thanks MrsSD for the welcome. I will be glad to start a new year as DH has had some bad news re his cancer recently. However I'll gladly do some decorating for you if it involves painting as I find it very therapeutic. I'm not so good at wallpapering though as I'm too vertically challenged to reach...... and even using a ladder these days is a no-no as I have a habit of falling offPerhaps when all the decorating is done I can declutter my decorating "to do" list too !nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14

The decluttering bit is going well, but I have a charity shop logjam in the hall. In Tier 3 so none of them open and local ones were refusing to take ornaments, in any case, they just wanted clothes. I am contemplating selling things on eBay in the spring.12

I’m back in for 2021 in 2021, hopefully. Our last successful decluttering year was 2018 as we didn’t manage to keep up with challenges in 2019 or 2020 - things have slid a wee bit. With a little luck and a following wind I’m determined to see a difference this year.
Good luck everyone12 -
Hi, thanks for setting this up Mrs SD. I am really pleased with how much I have done in decluttering over this year, so although I will be joining and reading along here it will hopefully be more of a maintenance than an active decluttering. Like many others here we will also be looking to decorate after moving into our new home, so will be seeking motivation and inspiration from all the lovely people here14

I am very encouraged by the numbers already aboard the Decluttering Charabanc 👏
boultdj, perhaps we can borrow a tiger to scare away the pooch 😉 I am impressed that you are taking up cleaning as a hobby & blocking off the time in your diary proves that you are taking control 👏
Aw shucks, retiredinfrance - I’m blushing ☺️ Your target has been noted 👏
Sorry to hear about DH’s bad news, nannywindow ☹️ Do you do the prep work as well or should I do it or should that be get my DH to do it 😆😉
Welcome aboard MrsStepford 👋 We went into Tier 3 four & a half hours ago ☹️ Great idea to sell ornaments etc on bay of e, hopefully lots of pennies towards a treat for you 🙂Lovely to see you Uncluttered_unicorn 👋 I have every faith that you will hit your target for 2021 - 2019 & 2020 were just practice runs 😉
Nice to see you Foofoopuppy (I still love the name) Congratulations on your successful decluttering 👏🥳 Maintenance decluttering sounds great 👍 I might be in that position in another couple of years 😉 I just need to declutter my lazy bones - it would make a huge difference 🤣

Started off with great intentions when we went into the first lockdown, great opportunity to get done all the pending jobs, I had in New Year changed my lounge furniture, gone from a huge wall unit to a sideboard, several boxes of knick knacks resulted from that to begin with, then after sorting drawers/wardrobes a clothes pile, but now as this has gone on and on and on and on, enthusiasm has waned and the pile has grown, I find @MrsStepford local facebook pages yield better results, no posting and a fixed price, waiting for the charity shops to open too.
I have already been giving thought to 2021, I have a credit card bill for dogs dental work, due to go out about 3rd January, I will pay that before New Year as I want to start with a clean sheet, so to speak, I also need to address my alcohol consumption, I have a glass of something every night, sometimes 2, not pub measures either, I don`t have an addiction but it has become a habit I need to change, that`s it for now looking forward to getting to know you all, although I do recognise some names from other threads.Do I need it or just want it.11 -
I'm climbing onboard and hope to do better in 202112
