Oooo bit by bit congratulations on your silver Wedding anniversary.xx
I slept badly last night so haven't achieved much today. I did empty the herbs and spices drawer and threw some, consolidated some, all now in a box. I have spent a long time crocheting and finished a blanket.
Great sense of satisfaction, I used up a perfume. It has taken me 6 months.
I have given away several bottles of booze to DD1 and Step Daughter. We very rarely drink.
I am also making good use of the lovely weather by washing duvets and anything else which stands still.
Granny kate I hope to make strawberry jam before I move. It looks like there will be a bumper crop in the garden this year.
My Mum is also decluttering. She has given me a bag with every Birthday, Mothers day and Christmas card I have ever sent her plus all cards that the kids have ever sent her. I have saved a few that the kids made but the rest have gone in the recycling. She also gave me a Victorian photo of my step Grandma's family. I kept it.I don't even know which child is her but she had no children so I will keep it for her. She was a lovely Grandma, she relished the role. Sadly her first husband died in the war, the second after years of marriage and she married my Grandad when I was 3.

It took me all day yesterday to unpack my new corner sofa and put it into place, and to start putting my new coffee table with a hydraulic top together. Now the sofa is out, I can start looking for curtains and a rug. .I absolutely hated the sofa at first and spent most of the day thinking I’d made a huge mistake but when I woke up this morning, I felt a lot better about it.The lift top desk is going to be a game changer - I can put things away but know where they are if you see what I mean!
I’m going out to lunch with the Platinum Girls later. My aunt, and another WRAC she served with are taking me to their Old Veteran’s Club. It’s always very jolly but bound to be even more so as we haven’t met up since Oct 2019!My garden looks fantastic withoutthat god-awful tree in front of my back door and I only have to keep looking at the photo of the devastation when it was brought down, to realise that I have overdone it this week. Obviously that was a huge expenditure of energy that I didn’t really have a choice about. The contractor said he ‘might’ be back next week to clear it up - ‘depends’ Apparently my landlord would like all the wood for his wood burner as it’s ‘his’!

Thursday dawned grey & very dull but dry. Both of us woke up feeling a bit (make that a lot 😉) battered & bruised. A combination of the bike falling over & neither of us being motorbike fit 😔 After sorting most of the packing we went down to breakfast - DH had a full Cornish breakfast but I only had a couple of rashers of bacon & a poached egg + toast & marmalade and lots of coffee. Back to our room, finished packing & then loaded up the bike. Last visit back to room to check nothing left behind & to pick up jackets & helmets. DH paid the bill & we were on the road by 10:15 a.m. Definitely cooler but stayed dry all day apart from 45 seconds of rain 👏👏 Three landmarks - a set of stocks in a churchyard, a cross and well & the ruins of a 12th century castle. Stopped for lunch at a roadside cafe & a second stop for coffee about 80 miles from home. Came through the centre of London - loads of traffic so didn’t get home until 7:45 p.m. DSis cooked dinner - chicken fried in butter, with the weirdest tasting boiled potatoes & lettuce. Left the bags for Friday. Aches & pains notwithstanding DH & I had a great time - I love the English countryside - each county has its charms - Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey, Wiltshire.DSis had been quite busy whilst we were away - hoovered downstairs, washed bathroom mats, watered the vegetables Tuesday & Wednesday & scrubbed the kitchen floor as well as airing the house fully & going shopping 👏🙂
Friday we woke up to heavy rain which occasionally changed to light drizzle and lasted from 8:00 a.m. to at least 6:00 p.m. ☹️ Sorted out the bags, but have left the washing for Saturday when hopefully the weather will be better 🤞Dinner was a delivery of gourmet burgers & chips.

You have been busy vulpix 👏 The packing is going really well & I am very pleased that MrV is aboard & not leaving everything to you - even if you do have to ‘encourage’ him 😉
The more you can get rid of before you move, the better 🙂 I hope you enjoyed your Friday - a bit of ‘me time’ will set you up for your next round of decluttering & packing 😉 A medal 🏅 is on its way for getting your mum aboard the Decluttering Charabanc/s 👏 What a lovely thing to do vulpix- keeping the photo of your step-grandma’s family 🙂
Great post elsien 👏 I agree with you that most of us have stops & starts but as long as we keep ploughing on we all eventually see the benefits of decluttering like finding useful things more easily, being able to move around our homes without tripping over our clutter & just a general sense of well-being 🙂
Great work ilovetea 👏
Wow Siebrie 🤩 you have been extremely busy - it made me tired just reading about all the work you have done 👏 I am also mightily impressed at your measured response to your husband’s philandering 😉 hopefully the more of his stuff you release the easier it will be for you to ‘release’ him making sure that you & your children are set up & he is left floundering 🙂
Good work newlywed 👏
Five days of family GrannyKate - sounds like bliss 🙂🙂 and you have August to look forward to 😉 🙂 Very pleased that the hot water held up 🤞 I am also crossing everything that your car is not too expensive to sort out 🤞🤞

Good morning, a 4am start for me today curtesy of Mr V's Michael Flatley impression.
Thank you for the medal Mrs SD. As well as the Victorian photo, I took a photo off Mum as she couldn't throw it away. It is of her ex neighbours son who she never knew. He is about 18 and proudly dressed in RAF uniform. He was killed in the war. I was going to bin it but all yesterday I was thinking about the life he could have had. Have I got the acumen to write that story? I know how I want it to feel but don't know if I have the skill to do it. All these people with no one to remember them.
Yesterday I packed the utensil drawer and found another set of salad servers! For goodness sake, what was I thinking? Who collects salad servers? well me, obviously. I don't even eat that much salad!
I also packed the shoe cupboard in the porch and did loads of washing, a little gardening and had my gardening shed out on the drive. Some things earmarked for my lovely friend who has an allotment when I see her next.
Today is work. Very ,very, very busy. We have enjoyed glorious weather here in The Peak District for about 10 days now. Because of all the rain beforehand everywhere is so green and lush.

Hi All
Welcome to @mumof3.12kindebt.
Apologies I've skim read to get up to date. Wow everyone has been so busy.
Can't remember my last post as we have had a lot of trauma going on here.
Works been a bit rubbish but am hanging on in there.
Have finished work, just doing laundry to go on airer and resting this evening. Tomorrow will be roast so I plan to stick it in the oven and do 3 hrs decluttering as that's how long I estimate the meat will take :-)
Finances OK but that's about the only thing that is, so counting my blessings for today and resting up. Have been incredibly lonely without you all and news of your decluttering so its good to catch up.
Lot of good vibes to all, hope the sun is shining where ever you are
