I so agree about poor sleep. I often have a night of 3 or 4 hours and the next day is a write off. We have to be kind to ourselves, we didn't amass all our stuff in a short time so neither will it be gone quickly. It seems many of us are happy to let stuff go if it is going to the right place/ people, and just don't enjoy being wasteful.3second memory plan something nice for yourself amongst all your efforts. You work so hard and deserve to be recognised even if it is by yourself.xxx My nice thing for myself is a long bath and buying plants, not at the same time!
Bloomin eck bit by bit ,your poor sister,I can imagine being paralysed by stuff. It sounds like your gentle approach is kindest. I watched an extreme cleaning programme the other day and it is brutal. I always doubt the recipients of the help keep tidy afterwards.
It was nice to be back at craft club sat on our own tables with masks in a huge village hall! Exam conditions!
A colleague's wife has sent a bag of wedding hats and fascinators. I have never even met her. Very kind but they will have to go to the charity shop. I don't suit a hat.
Mrs SD I always imagine you as a beautiful Italian lady with stunning hair.
Very little decluttering done other than using up wool for baby knitting. Today is a new day. A walk around the grounds,a little light potting up of plants I want to take with me then when it rains later some more packing.

@vulpix just have to ask how many pairs of salad servers have you kept? I have 3 , one set too nice to use, a least nice pair to use up and another set for company assuming least nice will go to DD1 when she moves ( she is destructive) so will have one pair and a spare. I'm destructive too as ruined 2 saucepans in the last month being distracted elsewhere in the house:(8

Well a very surly BG plumber turned up yesterday afternoon for an appointment they were supposed to have cancelled because I had school run to do. I had only been in the house 5 minutes - he mumbled that something had come loose, corrected it and departed - I have little faith that it is repaired. Waiting for the complaints department to get in touch again.
Pleased with myself because I did a successful screen share on zoom this morning with some photos - seem to have cracked it with a lot of help.

I am trying to stick to the adage about only having things you know to be useful or believe to be beautiful in your home (misquoted from somewhere) but I do still have a lot of the 'just incase and ought to keep' stuff. Some days it is easier to part with stuff than others. I am getting better at using the 'best' stuff and risking the odd breakage. Last year I bought a nice second hand dinner and tea service which I intend to use when I am allowed visitors. I've added to it from eBay and charity shops. I will use the other chunky set for everyday and throw away the kitchen everyday stuff as it gets chipped. I threw away or Charity shopped lots of cheap glasses from kitchen (I had enough for a banquet) and I use my nicer ones for the odd glass and visitors.

I have a nice dinner service that I use for visitors, my mum's German porcelain tea service (if I will ever need to entertain a dozen for tea!) and a plain white 4-serve set in the kitchen for my everyday use. I sold an excess set of cutlery that ex-husband had chosen but swapped into my stuff when we split, I didn't like it anyway! I have too many glasses, but hopefully can go back to family occasions for up to 6 so will need them then.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

With all the bad weather , I attacked my clothes mountain in the "dressing" . Into the spare room went pile after pile and then using a sheet on the floor I got more squeezed in. So, out went
8 scarves
3 cardigans
10 teeshiRt
2 trousers
7 jumpers
7 bits of fabric
2 blouses blouses
2 tights
3 cushion covers
1 pair wellies
1 tote bag

All for the CS and more to go through and we have been working in the garage.
Hugs for all of you and Mrs SD , hope all went well with Mr. SD.

Wow lots of brilliant decluttering going on.
Decluttered a long shift of work 😂 so good start👏
Outs today are a shampoo, conditioner and a really old manual toothbrush.
Painstakingly washed cashmere jumpers today (as thinking of selling) and was worth it as both came out as they went in 😊. So keep pulling things out of the charity sack (why I do not know??) so the faster I can get this out the better.

TC 77, out went bear paw salad servers, teak spoon and fork type to match the salad bowl and a fancy cut glass set. I have saved some silver ones that belong to a cut glass salad bowl that my Grandma had as a 21st present. As my Mum is 87 the salad servers must be well over 100 years old. I have no idea when my Grandma was born but in photos she is dressed like a flapper girl.
Excellent effort bit by bit with the blankets. I hope they will be useful.
