1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉Apologies to one and all 😔 Thursday it rained on & off for most of the day. Builder J turned up then left again - rain is not very conducive to building a wall 😉 DH went to MrS, missed the rain but got a fault message on the motorbike ☹️ Managed to book a garage visit tomorrow for identification of the fault. My charity raffle winning cheque arrived 🥳 + my cc bill for £0 👏 Means I probably haven’t left the house for a month 😱 I made a start on weeding the front path during a dry spell, did a bit more paperwork. Hm soup for lunch & hm fish pie for dinner 😋 Wudupa.
Milkman has been paid.
One bit of worrying news - DH bought a new smart watch which informed him of a fluttery pulse. He phoned doctor & has an appointment for Wednesday - blood test & ECG. Unfortunately although I cannot do anything about it, I am worrying for England. DH “seems” to be OK but he never really lets on if he is concerned 😧 trying to protect my feelings which somehow makes me worry more ☹️979 - 981 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, small cardboard box - recycled982 Kitchen detritus - binnedGreat work mothernerd 👏 Making use of sleeplessness to declutter 👏 but I am sending Mr Sandman your way 😉
Good work HappyKitties 👏How depressing GrannyKate ☹️ but means you are saving money 🤞 Well done on the decluttering 👏Excellent work bit_by_bit 👏 Good luck with the moonwalk 🙂 More decluttering 👏 Don’t forget to count the bag of stationary items 👏😉🙂Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 + one medal 🏅 on its way for getting DIY help 👏🙂
958 is a great number - rapidly approaching another gold star 😉😉 Now 964 - you are making steady & satisfying progress TC77 👏That is one way to declutter vulpix 😉☹️ not recommended though 😉 I have every faith that you will ‘practise what you preach’ when you are in your next home 👏🙂Yippee to claiming tax back, moneyonmymindsam 👏 Ah yes watching other people declutter - hopefully you are inspired 😉🤞 Have you seen that program ‘How to Save a Grand in 24 Hours’? The 6 hours of decluttering sometimes throws up some useful tips but they do fall into the trap of more storage 😉😉Good work boultdj 👏 Had to smile 😊 at the idea of ghost cat shedding fur to keep you occupied 😊MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 982/20212021 Savings Pot: £41.00 to end of MarchBe Kind. Boiler and toilet sorted and did get BG to refund excess paid due to rubbish service.
918 Some weeding of drive
919 Back lawn cut
920 Nice but awkward size picture frame in Charity bag. I have had it at least 10 years and not used so think it can leave.
Off to Mr S for a change - not been there for a while. I've been slacking with the cleaning recently - seriously thinking of getting someone to come and clean my cooker.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Did nowt in the kitchen yesterday other than 2 loads of washing, wash up and make steak and ale in the slow cooker.
I did however give a given to me chest of wicker drawers several coats of paint, gave one of the baskets a little repair and
hand washed the calico liners. I will wax it later then list it for sale. Slowly using up paint stash.
I also completed knitting a baby jumper and half sewed it up ,got bored with that and knitted one and a half baby hats.
Photographed and listed about 5 things on FB. 3 sold last night and being collected later today. A soiree into the loft has invigorated my flinging mojo. I was upset that the bowl smashed because it had been balanced on something unsuitable. I would rather have given it away than put it in the bin.
Off to Step sons now to garden for the day. Mr V is pacing. He thinks if I am on time it is actually late !

Vulpix, I gave some glasses to nephew who was moving into his own house, got rid of all the odd ones and pint glasses!
I brought the good crystal tumblers etc into everyday use, and got rid of cheap ones. Apart from the chunky stem Ikea wine glasses which I love, and use for everything!! If a glass can do double duty then it meant I could get rid of the others. If that makes sense.
I believe in the adage of using the best stuff rather than saving it, I mean saving it for what!!!Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.12 -
I just dropped off another bag to a charity shop. It was a cardigan, three tops, a jumper and two handbags. I have also been going through my stash of creams and using them up as body lotion daily.
It feels nice to keep steadily decluttering. That is the only way to keep on top of it for me.13 -

Been fairly quiet but some Declutter has been done
598-600 magazines and catalogues recycled
601-602 card and wrapping paper from stash used and given to DS1 for his birthday
603 photos binned. Many of them were blurry or just bad photos.
604 a lid from something but no idea what has been recycled.
605 a box to be recycled - it had in small bottles of stain remover which take up less space nearly stacked.
606 off bits of ribbon thrown away
607 broken pair of scissors thrown away.
608-609 a few OOD packets of flower seeds sown and hope they grow.
I think that is about all for now -12 -
The horrible weather finally stopped (every time I go to step outside it chucks it down on me and it's dragging me down too) so considering all the things I 'should do' (really have tried to eliminate the 'shoulds, musts and ought tos' as advised by a counsellor many years ago). Left leg but mainly foot and ankle hurting a lot (sprayed the shower screen but had already showered myself and washed my hair and didn't have any energy for wiping - sprayed some of the worst bits 2 days ago and they're much improved so another spray won't hurt.
Back onto my bed to do my pills, drying off, breakfast (lump of cheese and some baby sweetcorn and manget out with the remains of some yoghurt and mint dip I made earlier in the week) antiseptic cream, moisturiser etc etc (so many bits I'm trying to put them in 3 small groups of tasks). Sat and wrote lists -
outdoor jobs (painting, moving soil, shelves, bars and hooks in the shed - most of which are whole day tasks and even many days).
things I want/ need to do in town (charity shop donations, buy puzzle book, put money in the bank and buy bits needed for various jobs - clips to put decorative panels up in mum's grotty) Also an escape - if only for an hour or two.
Shopping - varied assortment and also have £26.50 of Tossco vouchers which I was going to spend on treats for me (mum still has an enormous pile of licorice the Easter bunny brought)
Other things - stuff to do at my house (aka the Forth Bridge), admin, filing (some still on the bed - an empty file box fell off during the night) etc, etc , etc.
Felt calmer after writing it down and decided on going into town, do what I could and then get back. Put my washing out on the line, got the walker out which meant I could carry the large crate of jigsaws and 2 bags of books, called for a taxi which dropped me off at the market flower stall (edge of the pedestrianised bit and a short street to the main shopping area) and across the street to Oxfam (last lot went to YMCA - spreading it out a bit). Bulk of the donations have now gone so that's a great relief. The other plus about the town centre (serious shoppers go to the retail parks) is that there are lots of benches to have a sit down on.
Went to Wilco's and bought cable clips for mum's decorative panels and smaller ones for training climbers, washing up gloves (because I could only find one when I needed them), sticky labels (found one A4 file this morning and will put stuff I need to access in plastic pockets but want them labelled), one bar of chocolate (in case I didn't make it to Tessimos) and some coke with caffeine in (mostly have decaff but may need that bit of umph to get cracking with all the outdoor stuff) and two bags of reduced seed potatoes (ready sprouted so can throw them in container bags behind the shed - next stage as it will leave more visible space in the main yard). Many people are having problems with seedlings because of the weather so want to get on with whatever's doable.
Treated myself to a meal deal from Boots (well when it's nearly 3 pm and you're just getting round to getting lunch) and a small pack of medical masks for mum as she finds them easier than reusable ones. Then went to buy my puzzle book, sat in a quiet part of the bus station to eat and then walked across to the taxi firm on the far side. Bank was still open but I had to choose between going one way to the bank or for the puzzle book (which was mid point between where I was and the taxis). Puzzle book is another form of mini escape.
So lots left to do but a lot of things ticked off and I'm happier and calmer. My back is hurting (waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in) but feel I've achieved something and can do more filing (best of all is when I can condense the info I need into a small entry in my little notebook) if I don't manage anything more strenuous. Will work out numbers later. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
Not a lot for me, just a bra that escaped the last clear out in the bin, it was going religious in places.
The shopping done and put away.

I tried to gift glasses today to both step son and step daughter. No takers.
You are so right about saving stuff. My Mum has best clothes. Why? she is 87 and never worn them. I have beautiful note books which are too nice to use!!!! I do like to have a best set of crockery though so that if we do have visitors we are not eating off odds and sods that are used everyday.
Hope the weather is kind for your walk bit by bit.
Mothernerd I love a list. When it all gets a bit scrambled a list helps me see the things clearer.
245. picnic basket
Pounds gained £660
Tomorrow we are off to see DS and GF in Oxforshire. On the way back we will collect an antique Pembroke table for the new house. Spending some of the money made by selling stuff. I have seen a very expensive rug that I like too. Using money made from selling stuff means in effect everything is free.
Off for a bath now before gardeners World. How rock and roll.
