Lost a post.grrr
Thank you for my gold star Mrs SD.
My thoughts exactly Mrs SD about getting help to empty the loft. Putting my thoughts down here really does help clear my mind.
Whilst looking for documents for the solicitor another wedge of paperwork out for a house we don't own anymore. The office is so much lighter these days. (cardboard box from Lidl)
I have made some purchases with money earned. A wedding handbag and a pine chair for the cottage kitchen.
The cottage will possibly be a temporary home. The intention is to do some work on it and then sell. That was the intention where we are now but 6 years later...
I have given the cottage a good dose of thinking about and have decided what furniture we will take or get rid of. I am undecided about my kitchen dresser and table and 8 chairs. Do I store them in a shed or get rid ? There is a loft at the cottage but it isn't boarded. Ergo (like that Bala?) so much will have to go or go back to it's owner. Stuff I want to keep but will have no room for.eg a high chair that my Grandad made for my Mum, so that makes it 87 years old. The Moses basket that my Mum made for my children. If DS has children I would like to be able to pass these things on. (or any other offspring that produce, but none of them show any signs of wanting to.) Sorry for waffling on.

Vulpix, could the highchair be a feature somewhere, rather than got rid off? And could the Moses basket liners be kept & the basket repurposed?
I managed to get a collection for all my chazzer bags, just bric-a-brac to get rid of now. I have a heap of stuff on Ebay that isn't shifting so am debating whether to cut my losses & donate that too.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

When looking for the caravan mover control, which we still haven't found but it's in the house somewhere, we came across 2 old mobile phones. DH wanted to keep them but I was quick and binned them as neither worked !Hugs to anyone in need and happy decluttering.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

Its amazing what you find when you aren't looking for things, nanny window. Chatted to my sister across the pond - we are trying to encourage each other in decluttering. I had a very productive morning as I decided that there was no way the last of my boxes from loft were going to be properly culled in the short term so I have done a quick check and labelled them. Some bits went on the way but I now have 9 labelled boxes in cabin (off the floor as I have one of the those box holding units out there) - a box at a time to sort when I feel up to it. Lots of letters both mine and my parents. Some stuff did go along the way though.
858-863 Plants repotted and moved from porch to greenhouse (Fingers crossed)
864 - half full bottle of wine thrown away - been open too long
865-874 - picture frames emptied and put in CS bag
875-884 - picture frames emptied and thrown away - too manky or damaged for CS
885- 891 - photo albums emptied, few pictures kept and the rest recycled
892 - MIL old suitcase emptied (DD wants the 2 cases we have as they are antiques now - went to Middle East with late DH and family about 1949)
Can't be bothered with much cooking so think I will have bacon sandwiches in a bit.

We had reasonable weather but threatening rain. Pen ran out of ink and a 'lipstick' I'm not fond of (drying). Woke early and had bags of cans, paper and rubbish collected before 9 am (currently gathering my third bag of paper. Old notebook has gone to recycling and rubbish (outer in rubbish. have a small pile of blank pages - will keep if they work as shopping lists, recycle if they make a nuisance of themselves. A few pages still to be written up - thinking about whether I really need them. Have pages for mine and mum's health (+ details of a couple of minor ops the boys had). I have a house log page (when the new bathroom was put in, dates of repairs, details on laminate flooring upstairs and down and paint colours used (and how much paint I needed) and little notes on things like mum's partner going into hospital then nursing home. Still awaiting a decision are my weight loss journey (and the putting it back on), a lot of contract information for various suppliers (mostly around switching/ installation so not sure I need it).
Went with mum to her appointment. She had decided we could drop off her hearing aid for a repair but would not phone first so they had the blinds down and a notice saying they were back at 1 pm. I suggested waiting there for a while as when we got back to the main corridor we would have had to follow the one way system all the way out to the carpark and then go in a circle to the entrance to go round again. Sat in the mini waiting room (I took a book to read) and then when we reached the main corridor we went straight to her blood tests (next door down on the main corridor). I phoned in advance to have the forms printed, went upstairs in the new building to collect them from our doctor's reception and hopefully have sorted two minor prescription adjustments (one reduction and one ensuring the pills that ran out last month go back in the cycle with the others - otherwise we are going to have monthly episodes of them not turning up with everything else/ me having to phone through and sort an emergency prescription/ email etc and then having to go and collect ).
After the blood tests we decided to come straight back rather than try the audiologists again. It was nearly one and we were both hungry. Easy food all the way today - I mixed more yoghurt and mint dressing and added cucumber sticks to the carrot and celery ones in the fridge and cut myself a small piece of cheese. Mum wanted dips for tea (with an apple, grapes, crackers, celery sticks and some cheese) and I just made a pile of toast for me. Decided to add 3 more jigsaws to the pile (one I haven't done so will do that over the next few days) and I've been collecting handfuls of rubbish and odd items from the nearly clear floor space - some can be condensed into an entry in my little book or my diary, some will have to be temporarily filed but older versions can be thrown.
Went outside this evening - cut off a tree root that was being stubborn, then filled a number of mushroom boxes with compost (new sack is too heavy for me to move so propped it up against the bin, cut it open and filled boxes. Added seeds and labelled but not watered. Have found the instructions for my new polytunnel (all the framework pieces were in the shed) so may be able to put that up in the next few days and can then hide lots of the 'larger clutter' by using it as staging/ storage in there. Trolley is improving in stages, much easier to see what is there and don't want to take everything off as there are lots of little bits (2 pen jars only take up a few inches of surface but there are much smaller bits in the corners of small containers.
Giving myself 5 for today - lots done but a lot of items repurposed. Sorting the shed and polytunnel (and additional raised bed) will give me a lot of space including more growing space (a lot of growers on other threads are still keeping things inside because of the cold nights - not to mention hail and thunder). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -
