2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

Lost track of what I have done today but it was mainly outside. Moved 5 buckets of soil, planted 2 packs of broad bean seeds, moved mum's clematis back against the fence, taken down 2 artificial panels, 3 lots of artificial flowers, handfuls of loose leaves, some chunks of the tree stump +latest collection of bits of tree roots dug out. Reloaded the stapler twice, stapled the bottom edge of the lengths of mesh on the fence panels. Rounded up 6 small pieces of mesh from various parts of the garden and have done another fence panel using them. Had to wait until it stopped raining then had to keep coming back in. Indoors I am part way through sorting out my bedside trolley.
Today's total is 18 items - some gone, some reused and the running total is 1023/ 2021My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -
Finally almost finished my home office, was going to get new carpet as the ancient but barely used one has got lots of dust in it round the edges but used a stiff brush and some carpet cleaning powder on it and it's as good as new.
215-217 memory pens that don't work well and one has a lost lid
218-236 patterns for embroidery free with/in magazines I will never do donated to OH's teenage niece who has been trying out embroidery
237-240 empty cardboard boxes recycled - for some reason I thought I would keep them in case I needed to post something I'd sold but I only have a couple of bits left to sell now
241 broken lamp from my first house 20+yrs ago
242 wonky Ikea Ribba frame that wasn't sturdy enough to hold embroidery I made for OH
243 spare stapler - took into work
244-247 tiny pointy post its packs for marking where to sign etc that I will never use - took into work for boss
248 pinboard - I now only have one and it's plenty - donated to CS
249 last year's calendar that had fallen down back of desk - recycled
250 clipboard from pound shop made from cardboard covered in pic - bin because it was bending
251 pack of ancient envelopes with sticky bits that had gone brown and lost their stick - recycling
252-257 even more notebooks some used and recycled, some new and given to neighbour for her daughter to draw in
258-260 three empty business card plastic boxes I was keeping to store small things just in case - bin
261 3 fabric covered circular cork boards (designed for kitchen use) I'd been using as pinboards but didn't need - bin
262-270 assorted ribbon I bought to use in craft classes I used to teach but I hate the texture of - niece
271 empty photo album - charity shop
272 broken printer - kept this for ages as the scanner still worked but don't need it - bin
273 colouring pencils - I have two sets and the other ones are nicer - neighbour for her kid
Now everything fits on a tiny Ikea shelving unit in the alcove or in the desk drawers, so there is only two desk tidies with my stationery bits I use regularly on the desk. I moved my printer to on top of the shelves because the old printer has gone - so I have lots of space for creativity and work now. It all looks very neat and tidy and I don't have to spend ages moving things just to be able to work. I just need to buy an extension lead to be able to plug my laptop and phone in, so will get that this weekend while I'm getting groceries. Was considering a chair or small sofa for the office, but quite like having the empty space!"I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." Paul Theroux10 -
Still here and reading along. It does help to see what you folks are doing and I'm hoping at some point it might spur me on again.
Very little (ie nothing *shame faced emoji* ) going out of the house at present and a few things have slunk in courtesy of the charity shops and freegle. Work is still difficult and I'm not up for much evenings or weekends at the moment other than de-stressing.
I have done some jobs that have been lurking on my to-do list for a while but otherwise my get-up-and-go needs a search party with medicinal brandy sending out for it.
Does accidentally recycling something I've only just bought count as decluttering, even though I am miffed with myself for being an idiot??
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

250. Plastic drinks bottle of DDs from theme park days, god knows how long we have had it- recycling

The good thing about this site is you can count anything you like, Elsien. Things that are decluttered from my head are as important as physical decluttering.

636: a jar of dreadful decaf coffee
637: another 50 emails.
638: More mixed materials recycling to be escorted to the bin, I'm working through the food stash and using all the early dated stuff - time for a batch cook session tomorrow.
Mrs SD: yes, I hope the printer's repairable as I bought some fresh cartridges that are now beyond their return date...‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Thank you for my gold star @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, the cheerleading is more than welcome at the moment, I’m returning to work next week having been signed off since February and I’m a bit anxious about it all.
Two bags to the charity shop today, the first time I’ve been back since they re-opened. I did buy a couple of bits but all things that were needed, well maybe the books for DS1 aren’t actually needed but as long as he’s interested in reading, I’ll happily make the exception!
One bag in total of items gone over the long weekend via our local freebies site and I have another couple of things waiting collection.
I hope everyone is doing well xx2025 Decluttering Campaign Mrs SD –The joy of decluttering 45.5/104⭐️

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉Another Tuesday done & dusted 😱 The rain held off - mostly - just a few drops at a time 🙂 J has 2 courses of bricks to lay tomorrow (if the rain holds off 🤞) Then the last section of old wall will be taken down. Both R & W were on singing assignments today.Dinner was chicken fried in butter, boiled potatoes & the last of the frozen peas. DH & I had reheated apple & rhubarb crumble (from freezer) with cream 😋
I have also taken a few bits out of freezer for our next soup 🙂 As you can see I am trying very hard to get into the position of defrosting at least one of my freezers 🤞
916 - 917 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
918 Kitchen detritus - binned
Well done Barny1979 👏 Clutter out, cash in 🙂
Excellent work mothernerd 👏 You are over 50% of the way to your 2021 target, so I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️Brilliant decluttering and organising skint_chick 👏 You have been very busy & very successful in disposing of Justin/s 🙂👏 One medal 🏅 on its way.
Nice to see you elsien 👋 Forget being shame faced 😔 - crossing items off your To Do List is DEFINITELY decluttering as is de-stressing 👏 because that counts as self-care 🙂I have done some jobs that have been lurking on my to-do list for a while but otherwise my get-up-and-go needs a search party with medicinal brandy sending out for it. Sorry, but I had to grin 😁
Excellent work HappyKitties 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ on it’s way for reaching 50% of your target 👏Spot on GrannyKate 👏 as per BarbCh’s thread ‘Declutter Mind & Declutter home’ If your mind is decluttered it is surprising how much easier it is to declutter things 😉Your post made me smile balabooberlies 😁 We have a new lady fox who has 4 newborn Cubs 😱 so we are back to feeding a Fox 🙂Good work EnergyShifter 👏
Great work short_bird 👏 Fingers still crossed for the return of the printer 🤞You are welcome StickyTheStickInsect 🙂 Well done on the decluttering 👏 Now, as to the returning to work - I suggest a pamper session the night before - Long soak in the bath, wash hair, wrap up in a snuggly bathrobe with a glass of wine & either read a good book or watch a film. Make sure you have laid out your clothes & remember to have at least a bit of breakfast. Remember you are a capable, strong & resilient person 🙂 and you will have a good, if tiring day at work.MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 918/20212021 Savings Pot: £41.00 to end of MarchBe Kind.
