My 11 year old grand-daughter had a sewing machine for Christmas so I feel a lot of surplus sewing stuff being posted ,though as they live abroad it could be a costly exercise....worth it though.
Hi MrsSThanksAs someone who's just sent a parcel the other way, France to UK, I found that courier was about half the price to the post! Once you go over about 100g and 3cm maximum thickness, the postal prices rise astronomically. Not sure about customs documentation - I was sending to beat the dreaded B word deadline. If I remember, it was about the equivalent of £8 to send at least a kilo and a half.dND

Afternoon all - shiny new thread, yay.
I’m not going to set numeric targets because I just get cross and give up when I don’t meet them.So I think my targets for this year are going to be around
1)maintaining the clear surfaces
2) having a good sort out in the kitchen ready for when (if) I ever get organised enough to get a builder for a new kitchen. There are lots of other things I need to do first to get to that point, which I won’t bore you with, but I do need to get my arris in gear.
3) venturing into the loft and not beating a hasty retreat
4) Having a second go at the spaces decluttered already - I wasn’t ready to get rid of all of it the first time round but I’m sure if I go back there will be more
5) electronic declutter - all the computer discs, memory sticks etc that I have no idea what is on them
6) garden storage needs a thorough revamp.
That should do nicely - anything else will be a bonus. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.18 -
Afternoon everyone
I finally got things done this past 2 days, a bag of cardboard for recycling is waiting to go next week, as this weeks box is already full, and our collection people aren't taking overflow bags yet.
I have a black bag full already, when it will go or where it will go is another thing as we are still in week 1 of a 6 week lockdown. I'm hoping some charity puts a leaflet through the door soon like usual at this time of the year so I can get rid of that stuff.
I went through 4 storage boxes from a cube unit and have made them down to 2 full boxes, drawers, wardrobe and bedside table have also been went through,
I've just hoovered the whole house in readiness for the new year, our Christmas things are still up, they don't come down until the 12th night, then the crib stays up till the weekend after.
I'm now off to make a start under the bed. I'm now in the way of thinking of, if it hasn't been used in 2020 or looked at, then it's going.
I've also listed more items on ebay, if they don't sell by Sunday then they are for the black bag also.
I would love to get rid of a load of DVD's and books, and have been looking at the apps that take them for you, however you get literally nothing for them, and most of my items are still brand new with seals etc so I'm not going to give them to those places to sell on for triple the price.
This is where my problem lies, They are brand new, I spent a lot of money on my collections, but the likes of those companies give pittance for them. And people these days on the likes of Ebay want things for nothing, they don't want to pay postage etc.

Black Saturn - hugs, I can't imagine what you've gone through. Maybe put the toys together in one place to sort through at a later date?
Irish Rose, processes like Marie Kondo help you deal with the cost side as well as the sorting, that may help you?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
