Right !
Off the starting blocks. Not being able to sleep has some advantages. Quiet house, quiet mind. Took me hours but 1 black bin bag of rubbish (not recyclable) and one black bin bag of recyclables. Am chuffed.
My thanks to all. Feel as if I have guidance and support on hand.

Haven’t read back the whole thread yet (but I will tonight) but can I join?
As part of the 21 things challenge I had thought of decluttering 21 things a month but I’m not sure if that’s too easy. But 21 a week seems hard 😂 will think on the target for a bit.
I did a decent declutter in the house in November so it’s not bad EXCEPT my kids both have December birthdays so we are now a bit overrun with toys etc. I am a mean mummy who regularly declutters these but my son is now 5 and I do it with him now so it’s a slow process prising things away - the 2yo is unaware and so I do declutter her things on my own. Also I didn’t touch the storage spaces in December - the loft, the shed, the “man cave” are all full of stuff.
One thing I’m struggling with is I want another child but DH (sensibly) doesn’t so I’m very reluctant to declutter big baby stuff. I’ve been fine getting rid of clothes cos they are easily come by second hand but the bedside crib etc tug at the heartstrings and are in the loft for now. Luckily I’ve always been of a reasonably minimalist mindset with kids stuff so we aren’t talking lots of things but it is still taking up space in my loft.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Thought of a target actually! Could do 21 things x 21 times = 441. We don’t have huge amounts of clutter to aim for the likes of 2021 because I did a lot last year in spring and then again in November.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Well done everyone on your decluttering! @Nicnak, the room looks fab. After working today I haven’t done any clearing out but I have cleaned down the kitchen and mopped the floors. Planning on a bit of ironing to keep it up to date. These are things I am going to stay on top of this year! Clean worktops for going to bed and no ironing basket lying heaped up for days.Plan for the weekend is to finish my clothes and tidy the kitchen cupboards. I might try and declutter some more gin since it’s new year!
All the best to all for 2021!xx15 -
Thanks. I've got tons which is why I'm able to get so many bags 😱.
After that, I finished off the bottle of Bailey's. Had one glass left.
My kitchen is being done in January so they'll be a lot from there as well.
It'll reduce dramatically after that.September 2017 Debt = £25330

I'm in again ! Looking forward to another year of decluttering with you all - Thank you for setting up the thread MrsSD
I didn't quite hit my target last year but I'm setting myself a slightly bigger target for 2021 - of 21 items / tasks a week = 1092. Once again this will be a mixture of physical things and life admin that are outside my ordinary.
I noticed that there's a new "Minimalist" film released on New Year's Day on Netflix - that should be inspirational and get me off to a good start !!!
