@moneyonmymindsam - good luck with the driving test.
Finding it hard to do much while working, tempting fate by saying our rats had gone after not hearing anything for 6 weeks and blocking up a disused drain and then watching film with DD2 and heard them!
But good news CS rang to say they can pick up sofa on Monday (Had been planned before lock down)- fingers crossed.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Thursday was overcast but not quite so cold 🙂 Wrote a 4 day menu plan, then the shopping list & sent DH to MrS 😉 Did absolutely sweet f.a. AGAIN 😔 DH had soup for lunch, I had a salad (need to use salad stuff ☹️) Dinner was a luxurious treat - HB Somerset Chicken with boiled potatoes 😋 DH paid me the highest compliment - “the best one you have ever made” 🥳 He enjoyed it so much that he did the washing up 👏 I dried up & put away.750 - 757 Kitchen recycling, office recycling, glass bottle, 4 newspapers, drinks cans - recycled758 Kitchen detritus - binnedGers, I am sure Camelot is enjoying the photos 😉 Perhaps you can post the start & end photos? Think of the relief when you finish 👏 Just twigged that 1990 was 31 years ago 😱
I do occasionally have a good idea vulpix 😉😉 I just imagined the poor souls going back to work in the cs & being confronted by stacks of bags/boxes & having no idea what was in them ☹️ You must be very pleased about demolishing the ironing pile 👏 Well done on maintaining your weight 👏 Gold luck with your next round of clothes decluttering 🤞Great work tryingtoavoiddebt 👏 At least with the ottoman any clutter is hidden 😉😉Sorry you are under the weather balabooberlies 🤒 but a great use of time 👏 Clearing electronic files is nowhere near as therapeutic (you did spell it correctly 👏) as getting rid of paper, especially as you now have a new method of safe disposal 🙂 I gave up watching Dragons Den a few years ago - either the ‘beggars’ were too arrogant, too timid or had no grasp of finances 😖 🙄 Great work balabooberlies 👏 I hope it was a pleasant surprise being phoned by your cousin 😉
Good work oceanspirit 👏 A bonus declutter is always welcome 😉👏Great work bit_by_bit 👏 You have been busy in your room of doom 👏 - now you can see the wood for the trees 🙂 Sounds like you have cleared enough space to tackle each bag in the room of doom rather than having to relocate elsewhere 👏Sounds delicious Gem-gem 😋 - I will bet it doesn’t take long to finish it off 😉
You are welcome D123456789 🙂 Will you have to book your swimming sessions?I have absolutely nothing planned - I am being a bit of a grouch as I don’t want to make a booking to go into or is that outside a pub 😖 I would usually just pop into a pub for a drink or two, read a newspaper or book - never planned 😉 I think I will wait until I can just go in on the off chance & order a drink at the bar 🙂
Love it -taff 👏🙂 Another reason not to watch Dragons Den - people trying to reinvent the wheel & charge more 😉😡
Great work ruby_eskimo 👏 and must be so nice that DH is on board 🙂 BTW just noticed your huge weight loss 👏 one Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way for the decluttering of so many lbs 👏
Excellent work moneyonmymindsam 👏 What a lovely sentiment “the contents of someone’s life where everything is still very good condition and useful” so well done to you for your very sensitive handling of such a huge task 👏 Good luck with the driving test 🤞do you have a car? or is that an expenditure to look forward to?🙂
Thanks for that timely reminder that I need to phone cs as well, Wednesday2000 👏 You have been both busy & productive Wednesday2000 👏 sadly it is not always the case ☹️ sometimes I can be busy but not necessarily productive 😉
Hope the heating engineer turns up soon Emm-in-a-pickle 🤞Sounds like you have been busy & productive 👏
Absolutely mehefin 🙂 I like the idea of forward booking a declutter 👏🙂 especially one as useful as decluttering a cataract 🙂
You are welcome mothernerd 🙂 Hope you aren’t too tired 🤞
Great decluttering TC77 👏 Good news about the sofa pick-up - oodles of space 🙂 Shame that the rats are back 😠 persistent b*gg*rs 😡

Thank you Mrs S.D.
Yes, my cousin lives in Cyprus and I haven't been there for years. You might think I am mad but I won't/wouldn't put my dogs in kennels. Especially Tiggy who was probably rescued from puppy farm. Almost 11 years later she cannot stand an enclosed space. I couldn't do that to her so haven't been away for donkeys years. Luckily my family come over here when they can.
So the phone call was a catch up but always good to hear from her. She amazes me with her strength and energy. She regularly looks after her 5 grandchildren and has 2 jobs. I love her heaps......
Bad night again, up at 3, waiting for pre-arranged doctors call......then will carry on chucking and sorting until I drop !
Have a good, gentle day.......

Not much active decluttering done although 2 boxes of old stuff have come in from the cabin to be sorted. Many of these papers have not been looked at for years and hopefully a lot can just go out. I have set aside a small area in my wardrobe in which I am keeping a very few things from my mum's stuff for my siblings' families when and if I get to see them. Will have folder or small box for each of them. I feel some of it is theirs to either keep or throw out not mine but I am being very selective.
Hopefully 2 parcels of books will be collected today as well. Staying in all day for collection of those but 2nd covid jab this evening.
I went out and bought some photo frames earlier in the week and picked up a couple of tomato plants which are in the porch. My seedlings are not coming on very well so will probably end up buying small plants for my new greenhouse. I have some plans so hoping for weather to improve.
705 Another notepad used up off pile ( searching for something yesterday I discovered yet more half used notebooks and pads waiting their turn)
706 Scanned in lots of things to upload to a different local history Facebook page which I joined. Hopefully I will get some feedback.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

A busy few days. Not kept a strict record of numbers but have ordered mum's travel vouchers for this year (21 - 22), sorted a pills crisis (mum putting things away in the cupboard without checking them and only telling me she has run out of one of her pills when she has 2 mg left (dose is 5 mg per day). What does she expect me to do at 5 pm on a Wednesday. Sorting that and a couple of other things she wanted involved 2 + hours of my life yesterday, 3 taxis and a bus ride, and left me frazzled and injured (my foot 'went' as I stepped down off the bus) and from then on I hobbled between benches and used a SM trolley to keep upright.
I have started filling in the hole I have made with small stones (I have buckets of them) to bring them level with the paved area. Will need to use some soil for the final bit and still may need more digging at the far end - yesterday I dug/ pulled out enough roots to make a small tree. Throwing stones back into the hole is much easier than digging soil out (have done about half an hour this morning just sitting in a chair and pushing them around with a stiff broom and the shovel - another new technique, rather like using a paddle in a kayak). Collected sandpaper from the shed and a large sack of 2 l plastic bottles to bring back with me. Sandpaper is for scissors that are not cutting properly. Bottles are to be halved to make space for tomato triffids - will have to sit outside by the bag of compost to fill and pot them but cutting can be done whilst resting on the bed (wiggling my toes and moving my foot as much as I can).
Have some leisure activities planned and have brought ys rolls, egg mayo and a small red onion chopped up to liven it up a little, back to my bed to eat (think this is breakfast, have had morning pills). Bought several 'new to me' books from the SM charity shelf (some books are entertaining but wouldn't pay more than 50p for them) and a few things I've been doing without for the past week (have put the chocolate on top of the wardrobe so I have to think about and make an effort to go and get it).
Before the run around to solve mum's pill crisis, I made bacon soup using kitchen scraps in the morning (+ admin tasks) and spent the afternoon out in the yard. Shifting stones, some digging (not sure how much is left as I need to work round some large lumps of concrete), stapling lengths of plastic mesh to the fence panels (they were already cut to size but I ran out of staples, by the time mum let me buy things again, the stapler had been put 'somewhere safe' - I found it whilst hunting down my screwdrivers for the raised beds).
I had to go and get mum's walking stick in the night to make it easier to get around. I've already collected a bag each of paper, rubbish and plastic recycling, just by gathering a handful every time I go to the loo. If I get bored, I will start on peeling and chopping any remaining veg and throw them in pans when I can stand up for more than 5 minutes at a time.
Lots of small decluttering jobs done including the throwing away of lids/ containers without partners, quite a lot of heavy work especially yesterday before the epic voyage (mum originally said she would ask one of the gds), plenty using up and several clear spots appearing through the clutter (7+ 5 + 10 + 4 + 3 + 8, spread over a week). 37 points to add making my current total 849/ 2021.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -

Get well wishes to poorly people.
I feel a bit grotty today, Poor nights sleep, over active brain! When I am tired I am useless. The only thing that helps a bit is regular food. I have managed to do a few things that have been bugging me for ages. Cut all the pulls off the chair from very naughty indeed cat scratching. Mended an umbrella, made the beds. I ended up in the spare bed at 2am. Tidied a cupboard whilst looking for a vase. Identified a couple of things to go when car boot sales are on again.
I have piles of stuff waiting patiently to be moved on. Charity knitting, full charity shop bags, car boot sale stuff, towels for cat sanctuary, plants for son, metal bits in garden for SS.box and bags of vases, tea light holders, jars, bottles etc etc for sons wedding. Bag with knitting patterns for friend when I am next passing. ad infenitum.
Granny Kate, respect for using up notebooks. If I live to be 200 I will not use up my notebooks. I have 4 on the go. Jobs to do, garden diary and jobs to do, items leaving the house list, and general for shopping lists etc. I have worked my way through all the kids part used spelling books from school and am now on all the little note books with robots and kittens on the cover that they amassed. Kids are almost 30,28 and 19. !!!! I also have masses of writing paper and envelopes. I can't remember when I last had to write a letter.
I did manage a bit of time in the garden yesterday. Finished off the paving, so a few more bigger stone slabs to DD1 on Sunday. I have plants to plant out but sheltering them at night atm because of frost. I need to top up my gravel areas with the pebbles brought from DD1's last week.
Upright hoover gave up the ghost yesterday so it has gone to electrical recycling. Mr V couldn't get it going again. I do have a Henry and he is brill but heavy for me these days.
Sorry for waffling.
