Scratters, good to 'see' you. Many years ago there was a machine that you could use to shape wet paper into bricks to use on your fire. Too labour intensive for me, it would end up being ANOTHER job on the back-burner.......tee-hee
Todays efforts were much easier and they sat very easily in a bucket. Could be put somewhere unobtrusive to dry.
Watching Dragons Den there was a man that had a business selling something called a 'Fire Miser'. Its a grid/mesh thingy that you put underneath your wood/coal and it is supposed to make savings as things take longer to burn. I think. Haven't researched the science yet but have filed this away for the day that I have my own home. It is still being sold.
Still think of your advice when the adverts are on......

27 items paperwork shredded or recycled
1 book CS bag
1 item clothing CS bag
Not supposed to be decluttering at the moment, however needed a few bits of paperwork from a file and found loads in there that could go - a bonus declutter.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅9 -
Thankyou Mrs SD. It is a great relief financially , seeing as the money I might have spent should be going towards my future care.
Also I can rest easy knowing that the house isn't going to fall down around my ears.
Well done on the weight loss @vulpix. I should lose some soon but can't face a weight loss plan yet. My clothes are going to be sorted next week as I swap over to spring summer. Some things I only wear on holiday I can wear around the house now.
Well I cleared out my room of doom. Bagged everything up that was lying around. Moved a load of stuff downstairs for the CS next week. Another load for winter for the CS plus some fabric as I haven't got storage for it all for the loft now on the landing.
I have moved all the furniture around. Thank goodness for wooden floors. All the boxes and bags have gone back in, they take up a wall, but all in one place. There will now need to be a sort through of each bag. One at a time. At least I can breath in there now.
This was a huge job. Thankfully everyone left me alone to get on with it.
Instead of working round work I am working round the weather. It promises to be nice tomorrow so I wanted to get it done today as the allotment calls.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. 1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)I know, I know I have taken my time getting back 😔 New SKY box plugged in & then the phone call to get the old card synced with the new box. Surprisingly took less than 4 minutes to speak to someone - then handed the phone to DH & he sorted it all out with a very pleasant & helpful young lady. I now have all my features back & have set up some of the scheduled recordings I.e. the ones I could remember 😉 Our door-to-door chap (rehabilitation scheme) turned up - had a chat & bought a few bits. Also had a nice chat with MrG from across the road. Did a bit of paperwork, watched a Diane Keaton film - the one where she inherits a baby 😱 A lovely gentle film, then cooked dinner - chicken pieces fried in butter with boiled potatoes & a large can of sweetcorn - yummy 😋 Now have a Harry Potter film on - my DSis wanted to watch it 🤔
734 - 740 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, office recycling, 3 cardboard boxes, paper packaging - recycled
741 - 743 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging, polystyrene chips - binned
744 - 749 Broken Sky box, knackered remote, 2 damaged Le Creuset saucepans & 2 lids - tip bag
Anyway back to cheerleading 😉
Great work jenni-fer 👏 Lots out & lots ready to go (I especially like sending visitors home with ‘stuff’) plus you are over a quarter of the way to your target so one Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 👏
Good work EnergyShifter 👏 steady decluttering 👏 & well done on keeping up with your morning routine 👏👏I see lots of us love tortoises 🐢 💕More power to you TC77 👏 When you have finished your admin, could you please send me the ‘admin gene’ - I have lots and have convinced myself I am not capable of dealing with them 😔
I am probably making mountains out of molehills but .......Frogletina, poor Freda her independence has been cruelly taken from her but lovely to know that she is on the mend & being cared for & spoiled 🙂 Shame the rats don’t concentrate on the pigeons rather than defenceless tortoises 😡 Hopefully when we get back to a more normal existence the rats will go back to foraging in bins 🤞
Great work villagelife 👏 & if you can get away without the expense of a skip even better 😉
Wow you have been busy ruby_eskimo 🤩👏 Also an excellent plan to build up your decluttering mojo before tackling your dresses 👏👏
Nice to see you tryingtoavoiddebt 👋 You and I are sharing the “Procrastination Step” - I too know what I have to do but keep delaying ☹️ How about we give each other a gentle nudge 😉 Might I suggest that you complete a mini task then reward yourself with reading a page of posts 😉 I will try to do the same but reward myself with 10 minutes of playing AB2 😉😉
What a nightmare moneyonmymindsam 🙄 but as you say very fortunate that you were there to mitigate what could have been an even worse outcome 😥 You deserve some good luck now - so positive thoughts & vibes coming your way 🤞
Excellent work Gers 👏 What a lovely surprise for your DM but a shame that your blue recycling bag is full again 😔
Great work short_bird 👏
Excellent work Wednesday2000 👏 Remember you might have to book an appointment to drop off ‘stuff’ at the cs 🙂 Well done on keeping to a schedule 👏
Wow mothernerd 🤩 if you can do all that work whilst feeling unwell 🤒 I can only imagine what you will do when you are fighting fit 👏 What a brilliant idea - using location to set up habit forming behaviours 👏 - impressive & worthy of a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way. Sending get well soon wishes as well 🙂
A very successful day bit_by_bit 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ for passing a quarter of the way to your target & one Gold Star ⭐️ for decluttering your mortgage 🙂 A major declutter 👏🙂👏Only 3 pages behind now but have to stop for a while to charge up iPad 😔
