1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Wednesday & the sun has departed ☹️ Very overcast but no rain as yet & bitterly cold 🥶 I have watered all the pots & containers.Straight into cheerleading 😉Excellent work balabooberlies 👏 You should definitely be counting this as a bag 🙂 as you say a deliberate task & you have recycled lots & lots of plastic 👏 I avoid the ‘small amount left in a bottle syndrome’ by hiding the new bottles 😉 😛Thanks GrannyKate 👏 I have kept an eye out but no more ants 🤞 as I said I didn’t get around to emptying the cupboards - at the moment I can’t engender any enthusiasm for anything 😔 Great work on the photos GrannyKate 👏 Not sure I would have had the patience to do a task for FOUR hours 😱 I do get easily distracted Unless I am doing something I really enjoy 😉Ooh, lucky you oceanspirit 🙂 a bit of tlc from your OH 👏
Gem-gem, seems like the ants don’t like the cold 😉 - I am not sure they would have stayed even if I hadn’t k*ll*d them as it is very cold in my kitchen 😉
Sorry you have been so unwell moneyonmymindsam 🤒 but it sounds like you have been very busy regardless 🙂 Have you found any interesting items/treasures in your clearance? Yes, yes I know I am being nosy 🧐 but I am fascinated by other people’s ‘clutter’ 😉
Gers, I am enjoying reading about the ‘Big Larder Declutter’ - I follow the Daily Thread 🙂 What a great idea to take photos - are they before & after? Receipts for 50’s furniture - a fascinating insight & historical record 😉
Welcome mandy47 👋 Excellent decluttering & good luck with the book sales 🤞 Re the lidless jars - maybe you were saving them as vases?😉 What type/s of jam do you make? see above re my nosiness 😉😉
Still you do get to the allotment bit_by_bit - even if you have to force yourself sometimes 👏 Like you I do love the term “Domestic Archaeology” It conjures up wonderful pictures - an insight to what kind of life was lived in times gone by 😉 Brilliant news about the building work - a great result & you must be so relieved that you don’t have to spend such a huge amount of money 🙂👏Now, now D123456789 ‘wagging finger emoji’ - you have been busy 👏 I am awarding you a medal 🏅 for the ‘osmosis technique’ of persuading your DH to allow things to leave the house 👏 and I am also awarding your DH a 2nd medal 🏅 for surprising you with his willingness to release the backpacks 😉
So very, very happy Frogletina 🙂🙂 Freda is very lucky to have you. A well loved pet and maybe looking to the future your granddaughter will become a vet 🤞
Good work Barny1979 👏
Great work vulpix 👏 I did my bagging up on the 23rd March & labelled each bag with the contents & date last handled which will hopefully help the cs when I drop off the bags 🤞I need to make a short list of what I want to buy in the cs when they reopen 🙂 So far only books on the list but might be brave & browse for clothing or just make a monetary donation - decisions, decisions 😉

Receipts for 50’s furniture - a fascinating insight & historical record 😉Yes, the photos are both before and after plus a load of close ups of the dates on some foodstuffs. I've been boring Camelot with lots of them! This morning I emptied out the approx 40 packets of seasonings and so on. There was a packet of 'St Michael' vacuum packed scalloped potatoes with onion - dated BBE 1993 though the record goes to a packet of German potato pancake mix from Nov 1990. Also 12 bars of cooking chocolate gone. Four more big bags of food waste taken to the tip.Now there's just the top shelf which has bottles of dried goods, all neatly labelled, and the stuff on the floor of the pantry. Unfortunately it's more cooking oils, vinegars and two boxes with unknown items in. Shouldn't take me too long though I may well not do anything tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement - we all need it! 👏12 -
Mothernerd, glad I am the not the only one to snigger at your screwing outside comment. I did actually think, very brave in this weather!
Good idea about labelling bags for the charity shop Mrs SD. I have 2 big bags for life now, I am ashamed to say one is entirely made up of all the Birthday presents from MIL. Think plastic stuff from China still in packaging. I feel guilty but she enjoys buying it, gets to see her delivery man almost every day and the Salvation Army benefits. ML even buys Carl the delivery man Christmas gifts that he delivers to her!
Today I have demolished the ironing pile. 4 beautiful summer tops last worn December 2019 in Malta now too big. My weight seems to have stabilised now. Perhaps when the weather is a bit warmer I will get back into the diet. I am quite nervous about going clothes shopping again. I need an outfit for my son's wedding and spend my life onine but just haven't found "the one" yet. I need to go through my clothes yet again and organise the 333 clothes thing. Trouble is I have clothes in every size because I am a yoyo dieter. This time I WILL NOT GAIN WEIGHT, so anything too big is going. The stuff I have saved from previous times when I was slimmer are not outfits iykwim so I would need to buy new things to be able to wear them again. Many years ago I went to Uni as a mature student (26) There was an even more mature woman on my course who had a complete new wardrobe every 3 months. Everything mixed and matched. 3 tops,a skirt,a pair of trousers and shoes and bag. When the new season started she never wore the old stuff again. I love clothes too much to be so limited but it would be easy to get ready in a morning.
Bitbybit life is on the up for you. Very well planned to finish work and mortgage at the same time.
Omg time to go in the loft! Mr V wants me to put some carpet tiles down in his studio. Wish me luck.
154. 4 summer tops too big

I managed to work thro some of my list yesterday. Washing and ironing all up to date and put away (a big issue in my house and part of the reason my room is always a mess) Kitchen table clear again and hoping it stays that way.Today I cleared out under my bed. I should never have bought an ottoman, everything gets put under it! Faded duvet cover and a set of curtains, some nail varnishes and old toiletries that have been their far too long. 310/500 items now.Lots still to do, especially now I’m trying to get organised again but back to work tomorrow and my new modules for uni have been released so we’ll see how it goes!
Will try and check in at least weekly to see if I can keep myself on track!xx11 -
Woohoooo
Couldn't sleep, not feeling great so went through a huge box of paperwork as recycling men were coming this morning.
I used a techniqe suggested by another lady on another thread. Filled the sink with hot water and threw the torn up paperwork in, swilled it around, moved onto more sorting. I hate shredding, don't have the patience or focus. It also drives my dog potty.
It was strangely therapeutic (spelling ?) gathering the wet mass and squidging it into balls. If I had an open fire I would let them dry and use them as bulk/firelighters.
So, I AM claiming another bag before I forget. 11/104
Am also considering a paperless life !
Hope you are all well
