Today I was back in my bedroom again and checking out the drawers in my dressing table.
Previously I had thrown out opened roll on deodorants as I hadn't used them for a while and I had two unopened ones. I've used one of these since, and they have inner caps when new, and when checking the drawer I found one of the caps. So I checked both deodorants and neither had an inner cap on.
The only explanation is that my granddaughter must have opened the second one, and now I don't know which is which. Also, when she stayed over, she didn't like any of the 3 shower gels in the showers, and checked all of the unopened ones in the drawer, and still didn't find one she liked. I didn't expect her to open them, just look.
She's not a child, she's 26! I despair!Not Rachmaninov

Thank you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger 💞💖❤️💕
Eboy sales are flying, another sale and 2 items with bids on so I have sanitised everything this evening, the packing bags and steamed any eBay sale bits.
Kitchen is a real mess - half of the washing up still in bowl. Will have to wait for hot water and do a quick tidy first thing tomorrow.
Can't wait for sausage, egg and HM chips as Tuesday evenings tea 🍳 😋
Hope everyone is warm and well.

@moneyonmymindsam I use new bags for my ebay sales - they get packed once sold, labelled when paid and then left in the bin cupboard at 7am the next working day for my courier collection. By the time they are delivered it is at least 3 days since I last touched the item so I think everything is safe, especially as I sanitise before I start packing.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

The clutter needs to go.6 -
I dropped off the fabric bag to the clothes bank last week and we did a full estate car of stuff to the recycling at the tip this week. The pram, stroller, space hopper, car seats, blown up microwave and much more all got recycled. The only items my husband said they couldn't take were the children's scooters! So he bought those home and I'll post on a free page, they are usable so will not get land filled. Found a few larger items in the garage that can be sold, just need the lockdown to end a bit more and the weather to get a bit better so I can clean them in the garden without freezing. Over the road took some children's plastic garden chairs off our hands as well. I'm putting off doing the next session in the ROD...admitting it on here might give me the boot up the bottom I need.Decluttering target:

DH has taken LO to hospital outpatients appointment. This is the first time I have had the house to myself since last march I reckon! I was so over the moon with my medal and gold star( must find out how to do a signature to show them off!) that I decided to see how much cleaning I could do before they get back. First I had a cup of tea and croissant with strawberry jam just for the energy of course.Gathered the washing and one load is on.So I’ve cleaned the kitchen sink all the granite tops, the outside of the fridge freezer, dusted in the front room, tidied all the toys in kitchen and front room. Then hoovered all of downstairs and the skirting boards, then the stairs the skirting boards dado rail ( have I ever hoovered the dado rail? Omg must not let it get this bad) and the landing.I recently did a superficial declutter of the office. Most stuff is not mine so I couldn’t do a lot but I cleared a bit of floor space and hoovering today basically filled up the whole hoover from just that small room, so definitely made some headway in there. Shutters dusted down too.
LO room and our room dusted and hoovered, bathroom hoovered all towels out waiting in the washing machine queue. Hoover has packed in now on second lot of stairs so emptied again and charging....
I have cleaned downstairs wc and will now start on bathroom. Just drank 2 pints of water and had 5 mins sit down to write this.... will come back later to update, I am finding the motivation so helpful- Thankyou everyone for posting and keeping me going.😊10 -
mothernerd said:I have been doing a little mental decluttering and thinking about changing parts of my morning routine (last time I checked it took me about 2 hours to get ready in the morning and there were 19 stages). I find that if I take my time I am less likely to miss important bits or get flustered. Also if I feel 'creaky' when I wake up and could sleep or rest longer, another hour in bed means less pain and use of painkillers later (always trying to minimise use of painkillers). I have just started taking antihistamines for the year (I am bothered by tree, grass and flower pollen so it's more or less straight through) and sometime this month I will switch to using sun cream for all basic moisturising tasks. Thinking of adding a weekly 'pampering' session (more like basic maintenance) so things don't get missed or only noticed once they start to cause problems. More lists (although the daily/ weekly/ monthly lists have helped in other areas of my life so why not?).

Well, its been busy this last 7 days. I moved DS2 into a shared house. This is his first attempt at complete independence. He has been living in a sublet flat for the last few years. His landlord/friend have a stormy relationsip but also this friend keeps turning up with booze which has been a major issue.
He is 30 years old but with learning difficulties.
He is a bit further away from me too which I am thankful for. Took all his possesions in one car load. Today I am taking round a unit he can put his shoes on and an airer I wombled yesterday.
Also this week DD has gone back to uni.DH toook her back on Sunday and I miss her massively. She is in her masters year and may leave home proper straight form there. She will be looking for a job in computer gaming design so could end up anywhere in the world.
I had my second covid jab so relieved that that is done. Still testing twice a week for work. Not long before I can stop that now.
Finally I realised that I have achieved a sort of equilibrium with the whole downstairs of the house. It has taken months to get to the point where it is mostly tidy most of the time. I will be working on upstairs next which is no worst but not really much better. Saying that I have only one Room of Doom now.
On the decluttering front I gave away what I will count as 1 bag of cardboard boxes to someone who is moving yesterday. Not counting the unit for DS2 until it is gone properly.
Got to say. All is good in the bbb household.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Thank you all for your posts. I do find they help motivate me.I am another who takes a preemptive pain killer when hard physical work beckons.
At the moment I am sat in a car park with a take away coffee. I have dropped Mr V off at work and have a couple of hours to kill because MY CLEANER IS HERE. Falalala. We have done so much tidying before hand.I plan to do some gardening later whilst it’s fine as rain is on the way for a few days. Once it rains everything will burst into life.I also find telling you all what I intend to do keeps me to it.Vx:10
