Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Claiming a total of 20 for today. Another bright but very chilly day, 4 trips to the bins (one a bin bag that I have been collecting over the past two days since I put the last of the small bags in the bin prior to it going out for collection. Pegged washing out and also put the two heavy covers (blanket/ quilt one and the mattress cover one) on the line to freshen up (and went back later to sponge any marks). have another bin bag and a part filled paper bag to continue with. Cleared and cleaned the last patch of floor, used up food (2 very ragged wraps for lunch but they tasted fine, just looked as though they had been in the wars).
Helped mum to put her duvet cover on (I had to stand on an armchair, thankfully once I was up there I could lean back against the wall rather than wobbling about) - ouch my shoulder again. Moved all the pillows and spare cushions onto mum's bed, brought in the mattress cover, 2 sheets and all the pillowcases that had been outside plus 2 more found during the tidying. Left everything but the mattress cover in mum's room. Began the struggle to get the mattress cover on. Laid it flat on the top of the bed, pulled the mattress slightly off the base so I could access the corners. Three corners on and ended up stuck in a narrow triangle between the mattress and the wall, heart pounding and the room spinning, stretching as far as I possibly could to get the final corner in place (and wondering how on earth I was going to get up as I no longer had the strength in my arm to push myself up off the bed base - lots of wriggling in the end).
It's the second time today I've missed DS3. He just scrapes under doorframes and is as wide with his arms stretched out. He's wonderful at changing lightbulbs (no ladder required), just shrugs duvets into covers and excels at mattress wrangling. He will do things for me, as long as I have proved I can't do them.
Put as many sheets as I could find onto the bed (extra warmth and means I only have to turn back the top covers and peel one sheet off each week), stuffed a pillow and a spare cushion into each pillowcase and finally brought in the heavy coverlet/ quilt and spread it out on top. One of the light covers with go on top (don't need it if I can't manage it tonight and the other one will go in the wash.
Nearly forgot, about 2 pm I put myself in the shower and afterwards I cleaned the shower screen inside and out. Lots of me hurts, particularly my arms and shoulders so don't know how I'm going to feel tomorrow but the light bulbs for my new lamp arrived, I've put it together and it's brilliant so when I hand the laptop over to mum for her evening films (I have to find and set them up, but I have taught her how to stop and start it) I will bring my sewing in here and may read a few chapters of a book - the other night I tried 3 books before I found one that the print was readable with the ceiling light.My mission in life is not only to survive,but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
Nothing off my cleaning grid today although I have started the box labelled 'kitchen wall cupboards'. My slow cooked beef stew was very nice and I have 2 more portions to freeze when its cold. I managed only a short walk round streets but pavements were lethal but I did clear drive again so used calories there.
A few more bits left home or were dealt with;
1. More clearance of email boxes. 1
2. Email boxes deleted 3
3. Letter received and answered within 30 minutes 1
4. Photos from phone and iPad October - January deleted 1
5. Photos saved for December - February 1
6 Snow cleared 1
7. Interim payments made to beneficiaries of MIL's estate 2
8 Carrier bags that came with Mr M delivery folded and stored 9

Evening MrsSD & fellow declutterers, well I am warming up for the weekend decluttering (planning on Sunday) by having a much needed tidy up of our daughters collection of hairbands and bobbles. 6 hairbands and 10 bobbles thrown. Most of them were well worn, a couple of them were last used when she was in reception class. She is 9 years old now 🙂 she has kept the hairbands with unicorn patterns on them 😄. Her den has been dismantled for now, it had some serious design defects, but it's in the attic do I'm sure she will be building it again soon. My wife is ok at the moment, her mental health is up and down, but taking it each day as it comes, as I am. Cheers 🙂10
