@TC77 i purchased some clothes online and when they arrived it was clear they had come from a smokers household. I washed them and sadly I could still smell smoke ( we are a non smoking household and I prefer clothes not to smell smoky no offence to anyone) so I hung them outside. DH thought I was crazy as it was so cold. I left them out all day and even though it drizzled for half an hour, because there was a breeze they dried, and I am pleased to say the smell was gone. It is very convenient to use the tumble dryer but actually as long as there’s a breeze clothes will dry outside even if it’s cold and usually you can get a fresh smell too 😊

Impressed they dried , I don't have a tumbler dryer. Had clothes out in November but they never dried! But do have a north facing garden. Will start again soon as dried line clothes so much better for lots of reasons. Glad you got the smoke smell out , can't believe you were sent them smelling of smoke although I think smokers may get used to the smell and not be so aware. My oldest used to smoke and her clothes were yuk as lay piled up rather than being hung up!
Come spring will wash all bedspreads and blankets. dd2 has the cat on her bed and sitting on cushions and Def car smell!
Have this weekend on my own with DD2 at her dad's so hoping to clear alot out!12 -
Ah we have a south facing garden which even yesterday when it was very cold we had the sun on it. 😊10

Unexpected cooking day as new overflow fridge freezer not coping with cold in garage. Steaks and chops fitted in to kitchen freezer but I let chicken and duck finish defrosting and I now have 3 portions of chicken casserole cooling along with a slow cook pot full of liver and bacon casserole. Of course fitting those in freezer somewhere may be an issue. I can move the fridge freezer to utility room at weekend which may be better. No cleaning done yet and only a few things decluttered so far today:
1. Another beneficiary paid out 1
2. Decluttered some more money to buy premium bonds (this is my funeral savings plan) 1
3. Zoom presentation for Weds completed and ready to share 1
4. Unsubscribed to 2 emails that come everyday 2
5.More random pots of veg used in casseroles 6
6. 2 Emails dealt with and answered (only 2 left to go before inbox is empty) 2

Hello all, another feeling emotional and like crying for nothing, stupid really. Anyway I took your advice MrsSD and made the bedroom my hobby for today hoping to work my way through. I cleaned it from top to bottom, walls, skirting, ceiling etc hoovered the carpet and changed the bedding, so lots of dust bunnies removed. I also emptied the contents of the upstairs bins, all 4 of them, none of which were full. I don't really need 4 not for just the 2 of us so I chose the worst to go, it had to go in the bin as it had a broken bottom anyway. No idea why I kept it. In the recycling an empty coffee jar and a milk carton.Hugs to anyone who is poorly or having a difficult time.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently15

@nannywindow
Awe hope you are feeling better, we all have days like that, and you're right.... we do feel stupid! But we are definitely not stupid at all, but having a good cry is very therapeutic.
Take a good rest now and enjoy your nice clean and tidy bedroom x11 -
It seems like many of you are down at the moment. I hav ebeen but wrote it all out at 3 in the morning a feew nights ago. 10 pages of misery removed from head. BIG SQUEEZY HUGS to everyone whether you need it or not
.
I am actually reporting in as I have just been to the tip and dropped off a pile of wood, a bag of computer and electronic bits and an office swivel chair for my BiL.
Straight after that my neighbours SiL came and took three bags of waste paper for the scouts. So I am counting 4 bags and one large item (the wood). Not counting the chair as it wasn't mine and never came in the house. So that equates to 15/100 bags and 6 large items this year.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Agree, it's been a rubbish and ongoing year. Hope everyone is warm at least.
I have had a good day. Felt awful yesterday but think could be delayed stress from all the family arguments, starting to think where there's a will there's a war!
Anyway back on topic 😂 I got up and thought before I wash my hair and bathe I should do some jobs :-)
Stuck washing on, hoovered, washed up and then I got rid of
1.My old dish drainer that I had repurposed under the kitchen sink.
2. 4 old wheel trims
3. King duvet cover
4. Boxes that I think I will use but never actually do.
5.Used up shampoo and conditioner sample (hasn't done my hair any favours but at least gone) also finished the last swish of an old fabric conditioner.
6.threw out an old razor.
The shoes have been put in my car boot, so that can be dropped off to the recycle bank tomorrow!
Quickly been shopping so that's done. I always meal plan in advance but this time I've gone with what I fancy and will meal plan from what I've got.
Ordered a spare pair of gloves (only cheapy magic stretch ones) and some reading glasses as I've bust all mine.
I have the washing drying by dehumidifier so hopefully this will shorten the drying time.
