1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Apologies for not posting yesterday 😞 The hm soup was zizzed & was filling, tasty but not very inspiring. DH zizzed some worm food & filled squirrel feeder. DSis did her washing & drying. I spent Thursday pottering in the kitchen - descaled kettle, chopped up stale bread for croutons, cleaned kitchen work surfaces thoroughly & general tidying, as well as keeping on top of the wudupa. Also did a small amount of paperwork. DH & I did have the tuna pasta for dinner & I cooked last of the bacon, last of the oven chips, baked beans & fried eggs for DSis.Managed to catch the milkman - so fully paid up then went to bed. Friday is oh so very cold 🥶 brass monkeys in fact 😉 I got up very late 😔😞😔
DH did an sm shop - came back absolutely frozen to the core. Shopping put away. Soup is warming & we will have with hm croutons. Grumpy neighbour 🤔, who seems to be improving 😉 has just given me 7 more jars for my tomato chutney - just hope I have a really good crop this year 🤞I need to go through my jars & thin out. Should lead to a bit of decluttering 🤞 Just had lunch - hm soup & hm croutons - yummy (the chilli has kicked in🙂) 🤤
331 - 335 Kitchen recycling, 2 plastic bottles, drinks cans, cardboard packaging - recycled336 - 338 Kitchen detritus, office detritus, plastic packaging - binnedGrannyKate, a good sleep always sets you up for the day 🙂 The idea of decluttering & cleaning as hobbies is to change my mind set - I am always keen to do my hobbies but not so keen on decluttering & cleaning 😉😉 Re the tale of your historic collapsed ceiling - after burying your DH in the garden 😉😉, I assume you got it sorted 🙂
The freezer declutter seems to be going well - we appear to be sisters-in-arms 😉 as I am trying to use up bits & bobs from my freezer 🙂 The cleaning grid is working well GrannyKate 👏
Great work ruby_eskimo - you were busy & well done for tackling the bathroom 👏👏
Viking_mfw, your husband sounds like one in a million 🙂👏 Well done on maintaining your cash for clutter 👏
Excellent work villagelife 👏 you have been busy 👏 Keep up the good work 👏
The number might not be what you wished for mothernerd ☹️ but the effort you put in is surely worth another 3 🙂👏 Your mum sounds like a real ‘card’ 😉
I do love your tips & hints which you have honed (as life has given you more than your fair share of ‘challenges’ to put it politely 😖) & they will help all those unfortunate enough to have to deal with poor health. One Gold Star ⭐️ is coming your way for the hints & tips + one Gold Star ⭐️ for taking the time to share them with us 👏 You have been very busy mothernerd - please don’t overdo it 🤞Your lamp sounds wonderful & should make reading & sewing so much easier 🙂 Lovely mothernerd - washing dried outside 🙂
Good work short_bird 👏 Now you just have to find loads of stuff to post to use up your bubble wrap 🙃😉
moneyonmymindsam, Sorry Thursday was a bleugh day for you but well done on pushing through & doing a few bits 👏👏
Wow lifeatthekings 🤩 I am in awe - all that work whilst in bed 👏👏 - wish I could do that much when I am up & about 😉

Nice to see you leelad 🙂 & a good start to your weekend decluttering 👏 Please don’t forget to put up a photo when your daughter rebuilds her den 🙂 Nice to hear that you and your dear wife are both ok & that taking each day as it comes is working 🙂
That is definitely the sort of neighbour to have mehefin 🙂🙂 magazine for a fruit crumble 🥳 Ouch to the vet bill 😣Good work EnergyShifter 👏 every bit helps - though breaking a glass is a bit drastic 😉 Surprised it took so long for the jet lag to catch up with you - I really don’t envy you getting up at 4.00 a.m. & then I will hazard a guess you didn’t catnap during the day 😉Not lazy TC77 - after all you have been decluttering lots of films 👏
Great tip D123456789 👏
I have just noticed the time so will be back a bit later, as I need to sort something for tonight’s dinner 😉MrsSD 🏅🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 338/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

I completely 'get' all those who are not feeling so good but doing your absoloute best (( hugs)) and very best wishes.
I am unable to do much if any decluttering..just doing my basic jobs
I am at a loss.. whilst pleased my MRI was normal i had hoped it would provide an answer and then a plan for my severe leg pain and numbness. I can do very little unless im sitting ..standing is excrutiating. Yet prior to christmas i was someone who zipped about.. regular 6 mile walks and busying all day. Heck what happened??
Im now waiting a referral to another service.the physio gave up.on me after 3 sessions.
Im definitely still in for this challenge..i might have to find a new way of doing things if this is long term .🤔

Getting thrifty - sorry to hear you're having a tough time, and know abit how you feel,Had numbness and pins and needles since the summer, MRIs , CT and lots of blood tests, and to be seen face to face but no diagnosis. Do be kind to yourself, I get frustrated at not being able to do what I want and it really doesn't help. glad you've a referral. Take care of yourself10

Seven items today so a grand total of 427/ 2021. Many trips to the bin, took 3 metal curtain tie backs to the shed (going to put them fairly high up and the garden umbrella can go up there when not in use. Lots done in my room but it's all sorting out pills, other medical stuff (plasters/ vapour rub/ support bandages. My aim is to condense stuff, have small quantities of everyday stuff to hand (a weeks worth of medication in my bag), a second store of frequently used items close to hand (using mum's collection of wash bags and hope they will go on the bedside trolley (still a work in progress but satisfied with the way it's shaping up) and less frequently used stuff away in drawers. All clothes were hung up or put away in drawers. I hurt less than expected but don't want to do anything energetic so will continue with the small stuff for now.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10

Good Morning Lovely Declutters,
This thread is such an inspiration to me, not only for the motivation to declutter but even more so the mutual support. I have been sad to see so many of us struggling.
I went to a very dark place in my head yesterday - I've been very up and down emotionally for a few weeks and the tiredness from working to a different time-zone last week wiped my ability to manage this. I guess the good news is, I shared how hopeless I was feeling with my family and a close friend and so now they know that I'm not finding things as easy as it might look from the outside. I wasn't pretending to be OK - I don't think I was even admitting to myself how hard things have felt.
Today I feel in a very different place, not so tired, more optimistic and able to connect. I have decluttered some stuck emotions and definitely decluttered a yesterday's negative mindset....
I feel a little shy doing this but I want to share this poem which really helped me get by yesterday in the hope that others who need it, might find it helpful. The Guest House by Rumi
This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

EnergyShifter. Sorry you've been low and so glad you've told those close to you. Thanks for posting the poem. I , can't believe Rumi was writing so long ago and still so relevant .
Staying in bed til the house warms up or at least defrosts!

@EnergyShifter
It's good to get it all out, very brave. We have all made such great progress to simpler living, whether that's just being able to open a cupboard without everything falling outor minimising so we can see what we actually have. Every small change is progress in the right direction.
With almost a year of the unknown and constant changes, there is good reason behind all the mixed emotions. I'm glad you have spoken to friends and family.
Today I shall wear my malachite crystal watch for you
P. S if you now win the lotto... don't forget me 😂😂🤣
