  • As a buyer I only choose items listed with non recorded post. If I'm not in the postie leaves large items in the shed, no hassle going to collect items then. If only everyone else did the same.

Order in plenty of time, never buy a single item for more than you can afford to lose and you cant go wrong.

Really pi$$es me off when sellers "upgrade" my post to recorded though.

They only do it to protect themselves from unscrupulous buyers. Although its not perfect they can a least prove in a lot of cases that an item has arrived then the buyer can't claim it hasn't when it in fact has.

Its not the sellers you should be blaming but the buyers which lie about not receiving items.

as a seller i now only send recorded as i had one buyer who sent me 6 very abusive emails over a £4 item they claimed not to recieve, i refunded him as i had no proof of delivery - one week later i saw him selling the item i sold him on his account, i knew he was lying from the outset

    - now i send everything recorded for my own piece of mind no exceptions
 Democracy is a process by which the people are free to choose the man who will get the blame.:j

see this is the tricky bit.

i have people phoning and saying just get the p[ostie to leave the item in x place.
i generally refuse as ive seen a few articles in the papers where people
complain items are left in wheelie bins etc

    suits some but not others.
end of the day its not the way it should be done.

I had to collect a recorded delivery from my local sorting office today.......
    It was manic
I dunno how the fuk they managed to find the parcels...
They had 4 people on the desk serving........
I have to say it did look like there was no system behind the counter
    But they found mine.....:T
But the lady behind me was moaning like a lady dog
I did advise her that if she could find her parcel any quicker maybe she
should offer to go and look for it :D

it might not look pretty but the system is simple.
it varies from office to office given space available.

however generally normal packets are stored alphabetically
RD's are stored in a seperate section with letters only stored alphabetically.
SD items are stored seperatly in ther secure locker area

our queue today was out the office,up the car park, out into the road and round into the car park area next door!!!

I totally agree that there is an issue with buyers that lie about not receiving stuff. The real problem on ebay is the feedback system, a perfect system would pinpoint the bad buyers buy this is not possible in the current system for fear of retalliatory feedback.

If an item only costs me a couple of quid, but a seller takes it upon themselves to upgrade to recorded post then it would cost me more than the item is worth to go and collect it, If recorded post had been advertised I could have chosen another seller.

There must be millions of people im similar situations who are not in during the week to sign for parcels. A seller offering only non recorded post could be missing a lot of trade. unfortunately, due to the dodgy buyers, this is a decision sellers must make. But I still believe that if a seller advertises non recorded post then they should send non recorded.

We are lucky to have a great Postie who we can rely on, I have received a lot of parcels in the run up to Christmas so gave him a little something for his troubles and a card this morning.
