Hi there
speaking from experience .... send 2nd class recorded. So many parcels go missing at this time of the year...don't know what RM are going to do about this!!!! Seems ridiculous that general postage cant be trusted. I am recording the majority of my items so I would recommend you to do the same. Best wishes for your ebaying.
Recorded why?
I cna't possibly afford to give Royal mail all that money for nothing, 120 parcels a month would cost me £88.80 out of my profit. I can do a lot with £88.80.
Still, as usual I do of course encourage all my competitors on ebay to use recorded as it really helps my sales when i look 74p cheaper than you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It depends on what you feel comfortable with. I am willing to do this simply because of the number of people that say their parcel has not been delivered and demand their money back or send constant messages whining about something I cant sort out. So in the long run for me it is the best option.
With respect your final comment

are you suggesting that I am trying to affect someone sales!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I came on to this site to learn and hopefully help others.
I do ebay to buy extras for my family and to help towards school dinners etc....I am willing to help anyone that I can to be able to do this too."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Four years of ebaying, home and away, over 800 feedback and only three non received items (funnily enough all this summer). I use strong plastic mailers, very clearly labelled packets, well sealed and return labels. I have found not much difference between first and second class. The huge majority of the first class items arrive next day judging by the feedback.
Of the few items Ihave recieved from ebay sellers, I am surprised they make it as the packaging is always torn (brown paper), with the item exposed!!0 -

I think the gist of it is - please carry on using recorded and keeping your postage prices high, as it encourages more business for those who don't.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
