Welcome to the
weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to
housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to
do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you
might start to enjoy it!
There are three levels per day with Level
1 being very basic it has been requested that this is just one task
per day, Level 2 in the middle, up to Level 3 which
is more advanced and time consuming. If you want to do level 2 you add the
tasks on level 1 with the level 2 tasks, if you want to do level 3 you add the
tasks on, easy peasy. Choose a level to aim for but be realistic, if you’ve got
a busy day on or are just starting etc aim for level one, if you get higher
then great, if not then not to worry its only suggestions. Every room comes back around next week. Trust me some days I'll
only be doing level one myself.
You're
more than welcome to join us in the everlasting battle against dust, grime and
gibble. The aim of our thread is to make those onerous tasks less daunting, and
to support each other - and to make time for the finer things in life!
Please do remember we have to abide by MSE
rules; each post should, ideally, include some mention of flying.
Thank you to Valli for
last week’s thread..
THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST
DO LIST, ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there, loads of other
things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis
like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds,
vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the
morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish &
swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus
personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and
whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish,
recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering
your home.
Swish and swipe means have a quick wipe over an area such as a
sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily
basis

Thanks for the lists ladies. I need to be in this week, but I also have to make sure I don't overdo it. I have a raging sore throat and just need to limp through five more days at work until I can actually switch off and have a rest.
The kitchen is sparkling which is a great start, laundry is over the airer drying by the woodburner and I'm in bed. Tomorrow I have a call with the GP after work to arrange some tests as things haven't been right for a while. I'm sure it's nothing but my mind needs putting at rest. There will also be the usual wood to chop after work to ensure we are stocked up for the evening.Sleep well all xx10 -
ASB hope you are OK, definitely don't overdo it hun x DH is also having blood tests because he feels tired all the time, but he is having problems with acid reflux which has been going on for years so not sure if its something to do with that.
DS and GF have been making soup, bread, and pizza. I have had to help put the kitchen to rights, but there is enough soup and pizza for lunches tomorrow. I have a tough week coming up - 1 site visit, 3 meetings and 4 staff interviews to get through, plus lots of other things, but I can only do what I can - feel free to remind me of that.
I need to be on it with meals, laundry, and flying this week, and try and get some time for myself too.10 -
TY for Fred.. I'm flinging and scrubbing and trying (and failing) to make my hovel less hovelesque. I have the back room (which was supposed to be done last week) on the cards and then the middle room too which I probably can't get done until the weekend with DS1 slobbing about like a hog in there.
I have a hormonal headache which I am seriously hoping does NOT turn into a migraine, though I have some monster drugs to smash that if it happens.
So.. I have my mothers christmas shopping to finish.. Twinkle and Jacob. I would like to get 1 item for my mother but I doubt I will be able to afford it so it doesn't matter. I need to slop another coat of paint over the loo and paint the skirting in the front room. I am having OH run ragged this week.. though I may need to devour a gallon of caffeine to get myself moving.. AF is back after a sabbatical and darn do I know it. I need to make an appointment at the quack for me and Dot.. I need ENT referral and she needs Paed referral.I've spent the weekend trying to get the kitchen into some semblence of order.. I binned nexxt to nothing it was merely a case of putting everything away!I need to ring the mortgage company again.. my phone disconnected last time before I even got started. I'm also utterly convinced they are going to say no to fixing my house anyway so I am uninspired about trying.
OH's list this week includes fixing the kitchen unit door, scrubbing the bathroom, painting the ceiling in Moomins room.
Monday.. vacuum the girls room, paint the first section of the skirting.. it's a one wall at a time jobby. pay for christmas veg/eggs box.
Anyway.. last week of school,Dot is super flappy with all the changes and unusual routines.I best go finish Twinkles christmas cards and Squeaks pack up.. we had no slimerine for her sarnies, I had to send OH to the shop.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -

Shame about so many places closing; sorry I forget who mentioned that on the previous thread. Was disgusted to read on local FB that one of the pubs nearby had 27 people not turn up for their bookings on one day; didn't bother to ring and cancel. I mean, how much effort is it to send a message or ring up? The pub said if they get another day like that they will have to close. I can't believe people are so thoughtless.
Got the tree up and decorated today, after much clearing and cleaning of the lounge/diner. It looks a huge mess now as there are still boxes of decorations etc to do the final bits tomorrow, but flying was still involved.
Thanks for comments about the flower arrangement; realised I put 'must make the base start more obvious' when I meant the base STAR. Just in case anyone was confused.
Started another report today.
Went to church.
Filled bird feeders. 6 or so fairies arrived, just as I was saying yesterday that I hadn't seen them for a while.
Froze the Xmas puddings.
Mr N had a long chat with the husband of our friend with ovarian C; she is on 3rd lot of chemo and not doing well, it's heartbreaking. Their son can't visit for Christmas as he is in the RAF so is in contact with too many people to risk visiting her in such a weak state. We can only try and support by message, email and phone as we can't visit either of course.
Got 5 long sticks cut to length and drying in the kitchen ready to make the door arrangement....another one based on a star.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

flying? I've either evicted two mice or one mouse twice. They are very tiny and very, very quick. In my home county I would describe them as 'wick' but I would also say, given there appear to be lots, that we are 'wick wi' 'em'.
