Hope the car got sorted R xx
Utterly awful day. I was so anxious and unsettled I was actually sick at work. Too much carp going on to post about but needless to say none of it is my doing and I just want a calm, quiet life, why can't people let me be.Tomorrow is a new day. I may actually smile tomorrow as well, I haven't at all today (well I did when i read about Piggers brain leaking out of her ear, thanks for the grin hun).
Sorry for the moan xx9 -

I'm so very pleased with myself - I never finish a list! Bit disappointed I didn't make any of the Extra Lists, however I will attempt to do them throughout the week.
Manic Monday- Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One
Clear and wipe those surfaces, even if around things!
Level Two
Clean floors
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front, wipe any spills
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)
Level Three
Wipe & replace small appliances such as kettle, toaster etc (wipe under too, especially the toaster!)
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances, don't forget those kick boards
Check those washing machine, tumble dryer, cooker hood and dishwasher filters

ASB oh lovely, that's not good. If it helps I have had a horrendous meeting tonight, I stood up for myself which I was proud of but its not always nice doing that. My default position is to say what people want to hear to avoid confrontation. If you can promise to put a smile on your face tomorrow I will do the same. I am in the office tomorrow, and it will be nice to catch up with my assistant.
As usually I am working to my own lists, which I mix up with the lists on the thread, so I am always grateful for having them. LR hoovered and dusted, fire cleaned out, shepherds pie made, kitchen and utility floor swept.
I have presents to post to my brother and family tomorrow, then that's a job ticked off. Bedtime I think.10 -
Welcome GeorgieLou.
Hugs ASB and anyone who needs them.
DustyKitten did pop back in briefly earlier this year, then went off again. Probably meeting me in real life a few years ago put her off.
Was just getting a very tricky report finished enough to send to manager for advice this morning when G00gle started playing up which sent me into a panic and meant I was late for my (mainly social) Zoom with a work colleague. Fortunately it recovered eventually.
Dropped by to friend with her flower arrangement after lunch, had a brief chat at a distance on her doorstep.
Delivered pretty much most of our 'last few' local cards on the way home so pretty chuffed.
Started putting the 'star' frame together for the front door flower arrangement.
Got limited feedback from manager on report and spent time writing the summary.
Heard that Harlow, 5 miles away and our nearest town, is now tier 3. Ditto other parts of Herts and Essex but we are still in a bit of a narrow East Herts tier 2 corridor. How about you GI? I quickly looked up the addresses of my 2 students for Wed & Thurs; 1 lives in tier 3. I emailed uni suggesting it may be better for me to see them both in Jan to avoid any risk, after all how important can it be for them to be assessed now rather than 4 weeks time? Not sure where my drum teacher lives so I don't know if that will be running on Thurs.
Have worked out that, apart from uni, I will only be indoors with anyone before Christmas tomorrow at aqua aerobics and on Sunday at our non-singing carol service. Can't think of anything else I have planned. Have told Mr N it's going to be an unlucky Christmas for him as far as presents are concerned as I'm not risking going anywhere. Had tried 2 places for a book he wanted but both out of stock, so that's it.
I'm sure I have done other stuff but can't think what, think my brain is hiding with Pigpen's somewhere.
Not total WAC last night but I did stay up watching shooting stars; saw 5 to my joy - I've been looking all year.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Evening Morning all. Quick report back, before I fall into bed. I've done everything on my list except write cards, but I did manage a bit of extra flying this morning instead. The knitting is finished apart from sewing up. Oh, and I swept up two large trugs full of slippery leaves off the decking and path and dumped them back in the copse.
No time for flying tomorrow today because I've got to
- bake a cake
- write cards to post before 5 pm
- sew up the knitting
That might be doable, or it might not!8 -
Morning all.I got a fair bit done yesterday, certainly didn't feel like there was a chance to sit down. Today DH is back at the doctors so I'll pop to shop while waiting for him. Have booked the dog field for later but mostly today will be dealing with lots of council paperwork ahead of a meeting later in the week.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning xx
Hugs to asb and anyone else who would like one xx
The good news is that the garage only charged me £10 for investigating the problem with my car. The bad news is that the problem is a worn ignition lock and a worn key - and there is a knack to turning the key to make the car start. Mechanic showed me how to do it. Let's just say that I'm not very good at it 😞.
I managed to start it to go over to DS's house- finally. It's quirky but I like it. I've bought DS and GF a washing machine for Christmas and it's being fitted this week - used a small local firm who offer free delivery, free fitting, and free removal of old machine without charging an extra arm and leg for the actual machine. Very mse 😉. And he can fit it this week. Yay. Sorted.
WAC for me and anxiety is high again- worried that I'm not going to be able to start my car. Wondering if it's possible to change the ignition cylinder and key and, if so, how much? Going to ring the garage and ask in my lunch break. If that's not an option I'll have to look for a new (to me) car. I need a car that I can start first turn of the key without performing finger and thumb acrobatics.
I keep telling myself it's sort outable but I'm not listening! I think my brain has joined pigpen's too. Sorry to whinge but I'VE HAD ENOUGH NOW THANK YOU.
Flying today will be feed the birds, put out the recycling, make my bed, laundry shuffles, and, if I have the energy after the paid stuff I'll put up my tree. Managed to grab a Mr T delivery for tomorrow night so, fingers crossed that everything is in stock, that's the last presents bought and me stocked up for Christmas.
Better get myself up and in the shower. Big hugs to everyone who's having a tough time- that will be everyone then!!! Thinking about you asb xx
Much love to you all

Morning everyone,
Life seems to be getting on top of so many people, so sorry I can't help, but get those SMILES out, yes it sounds daft but it does reduce stress. When DD1 took her first ever 'big' exam (o level or gcse equivalent) a teacher made them all hold a pencil side ways in their mouth, forcing them to smile, it has a (brief) but instant effect on stress levels. I also have a mug from when I worked in an office in UK that says 'smile, people will wonder what you've been up to'.
All fine here, OH has gone to work, no temperature and seems a bit better, fortunately it seems to be digestive and so yesterday he had soup and no spicey sauce with his sausages and couscous.
Bed made, clothes picked up and windows open
Letter taken to post box
Living room tidy
Better get a move on, I have great hopes for today!
See you later, running up to close windows10
