Eversure Car Breakdown Discussion

  • Hi all, I joined Eversure July 2024 mainly because my car was 10 years old. We bought another car a week later tried to contact them by email to see what the best price was for 2 cars no response after 5 days. I bought a policy to cover both cars from another company which for 2 cars was a better price. I asked Eversure for my money back via email again, after 3 days I was asked to confirm I wanted to cancel and that they would deduct £5 and refund me in 5 days. I confirmed I wanted to cancel and requested immediate refund. I did receive a refund after a further 3 days but somehow lost £9 in the process. Not the best customer service considering they could have maybe sold me another policy if they had responded to my first email. I haven't had to test the breakdown service but I hope they respond quicker than the admin.
  • My renewal is due. I've been with AutoAid for years but I've noticed Eversure is a bit cheaper now, and they don't have a £25 excess for cars over 10 years old (which mine is). Reviews on here don't seem to be great, but they do have a slightly better Trustpilot rating than AutoAid.

I'm not too bothered about customer service, what I want assurance on is knowing I will be rescued if I breakdown somewhere. Any recommendations either way on this?
  • My experience with Eversure has been very positive. So much so that I have renewed and with the benefit of hindsight even upgraded to Gold cover with no excess. Eversure provide adequate guidance on what to do when in need and were easy to contact. With a nearly 10yr old car I had to use them twice in a year, on both occasions they responded in a time only marginally longer than that claimed by pricier providers. An annual policy at a reasonable cost was certainly matched by excellent service. My advice to those considering...remember you are getting a bargain policy, in paying less you should limit your expectations but don't worry these guys are good and will come to help. The Gold policy is certainly good value.
  • Despite the comment I left on this forum back in May (saying that my car broke down in a multi-storey car park when I was shocked to discover that I had to pay over £300 towards the recovery cost to get it removed from the car park as this involved the use of what was deemed "specialist equipment") I notice that MSE is still showing that Eversure provides "full service cover". Following my experience, I discovered that most, if not all, other insurers would not have imposed this additional charge. I subsequently switched to AutoAid, at a similar price to Eversure, who assured me it would not impose an extra charge if my car needed to be recovered from a multi-storey car park, and I have this confirmed in writing. I would not go anywhere near Eversure in future. Nasty shocks like that are not what you need when you're stranded with a broken down car many miles from home.
  • UK and EU Motorhome breakdown cover policy. the service I received from Eversure / National breakdown in Spain was beyond a joke, first contacting them at 10am, it took them 6 hours to recover us after sending a car transporter for a 8m 5.5 ton motorhome, we we're left sitting in 36c heat, them left for a further 3.5 hours sitting outside the garage, taken 70 miles away from our motorhome to a closed hostel not a hotel and left sitting in the center of Salamanca from 10.15pm to 12am before being picked up and taken to another hotel a total of 14 hours from first contacting them to getting a bed, bearing in mind they knew I'm disabled pensioner and we had our granddaughter with us, next day stranded in the hotel from checkout at 11.00am till 4.30pm in the hotel reception without any where to get food, and then dropped like a hot potato as the garage claimed our £77,000 motorhome was beyond repair, which was a lie, basically the garage didn't want the job, I had to pay £6,000 recovery cost to the UK, £333 in storage fee, the motorhome was stored in a free unsecure lorry park over a mile away from the garage proving the point garage had no intention in repairs, plus another £1000+ in getting ourselves back home and my complaint took them 15 weeks to look into just to say we was not covered for the breakdown in the first place, breakdown cover that don't cover a breakdown????

    Hi
It's been a while since this thread was active. I was wondering. My car is now 15 years old as of sometime late last year. Registered 2009 autumn. It was 14 years when I purchased my current Eversure policy. This runs out in the next few weeks. Thing is I am confused by the discussion on this thread about if I would or would not be able to get another policy from Eversure as my car is 15 and a quarter and will definetly be 16 later in the year? Anyone know how this worked out in the end? It wasn't clear if it was 15 or 16 was the cut off from people's experience? Any more feedback on this which might help me decide what I need to do? Ta.

Hi, I tried to help my daughter purchase Eversure breakdown insurance last week, she's 17 with a 2011 registered car.  They wouldn't accept her as she was under 18, and I was unable to purchase a policy for her as I wasn't the registered keeper.

Can't say how good they are at breakdown.  However I am not particularly pleased with their policy on cancellation.  My policy is 6 weeks old and I have just sold my car - I no longer need cover.  I am not entitled to ANY refund on the breakdown cover as they explain and point out is mentioned in their terms of business.  There would be a fee for transitioning to a new car, but that isn't relevant in my case.  Never have I come across this on any annual policy - and so long as you don't mind paying for something you might not be able to use,  then it might be good value.  I for one won't look at this company again.

I recently had a very good experience with them.
Car had warning lights, they came and took it to my preferred garage which was in Wigan (I'm in Liverpool)
When they couldn't sort it and it had to go to Audi in Liverpool they kindly arranged for that to happen too.
    Could not fault the service
