Eversure Car Breakdown Discussion

  • Hi
I have been with Eversure for a year. When I broke down in September, it took 2 hr 45 mins to recover me despite being alone and female. The customer service agent at Eversure logged my breakdown incorrectly so I was not prioritised hence the long delay in recovering me.

I made 7 calls in total whilst broken down on the side of the road due to errors from staff at Eversure. Several told me different things, all the while I’m stranded alone and it was getting dark.

They told me that I could be recovered home and my car recovered from home the next day to a garage, this was not correct. No garages open at that time of the evening. They made the breakdown all the more stressful and anxiety provoking due to poor staff at Eversure.

Thankfully Rebecca spoke to me and helped me so much at Eversure and helped me resolve my complaint. They are cheap for a reason. The recovery company said that they didn’t get told of my breakdown until 6pm when I reported the breakdown at 4:20pm. I saw the breakdown driver sat stationary in his van when I was tracking my recovery on an app. Poor
  • 25/01/2023  Just signed up via MSE Breakdown Page.  I checked the wording on a few different types of offer from AutoAid, but they didn't offer the help at home that I may need in the future.  I used the same MSE page to look for alternatives, found EverSure, and once I'd checked the various options available decided that the Gold cover was suitable for my needs, and really decently priced.  Excess was visible on some options, but there doesn't appear to be Excess for the Gold cover.  Once paid up, documents arrived in my email inbox straight away, including certificate of cover and contact numbers should I need to request breakdown help.  It's only been 5 minutes, and hopefully I will never need to use the service, but so far, so good.
  • Using the CBC link provided, I have been with Eversure for several years. Never needed them. Paid the money in the expectation that, if the worst happpened, they'd be there. The worst happened and they weren't there for me. On a foggy  country road at night, an approaching car dazzled me and I lost my position on the road and slipped off the carriageway, suffering sidewall damage to the front tyre, which quickly deflated. I attempted to use the squirty stuff, but it didn't work. Phoned Eversure, expecting help. They were sorry but they couldn't help me as this counted as an 'accident', and rang off. I ended up having to find a mobile tyre repair company at 8pm on a wet Friday night. Was eventually on my way, four hours later and £270 worse off. Breakdown service? No.
  • Set up a Eversure gold policy for my son last October, his car is 11 years old. He broke down last week. Pick up was within an hour - a local firm- the driver was actually an old school friend! He no problems with the policy which we have now changed for the rest of the year to his new car  - for a slight fee.
a good breakdown service that did exactly what it should.

  • WARNING PEEPS! Had a reply from CBC/Eversure about their definition of "an accident". The policy wording is as follows:"an Accident is where the vehicle is involved in an incident that is unintentional and unexpected". OK, so hitting a pothole puncturing my tyre or damaging my wheel - clearly an accident = no help. How about the cambelt snapping, rendering the car undriveable; clearly "unintentional and unexpected" = no help. So, what sort of incidents WOULD count as a breakdown where help would be offered. Clearly, incidents that ARE intentional and expected: I smash my own windscreen on purpose. I'll get help. I jam a nail into my car tyre. Yup, they'll help with that. Surely, this is one of those cases where the wording means that the policy truly isn't worth the paper it's written on.
  • Just had another problem with EVERSURE broke down with a misfire. Phoned EVERSURE after a lot of questions was told to hold . After ten minutes was told my car was not covered as it was more than 15 years old . But they could recover me  for the cost of £680 . So I managed to get back home luckily only to find my policy states CARS UPTO 20 YEARS OLD . Will be using another company from now on .
  • Be careful if you have an older vehicle. The wording is potentially misleading. I've just asked Eversure about my car, and the wording the agent used in the chat was that the vehicle has to be under 15 years. If it turns 16 during your policy, you won't be covered after its reg month.

I take the wording of 'under 16' to mean under 16 at the start of the policy and that would meet the criteria for the policy. My car is, but wouldn't be for long, being a 07 plate. I don't think anyone would want to take a policy that might only cover them for a few months, so it would be better for Eversure to clarify this as potentially they're gaining business by using misleading wording - and customers may well then end up having to take another policy once the vehicle is over 16. The wording is muddy, IMO. Glad I double checked on the chat before taking it out.

I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. The policy outlines it covers multiple private cars and motorcycles with a maximum age of 15. Once they turn 16 this is when they are not covered as per the policy terms. As we do not ask for the registrations it does not lock cars in for the term
  • Absolute scammers. Policy says "any vehicle" but then when you need a call out they say "no vans" but there is no van exclusion, they only say cars and motorcycles. Absolute BS - AVOID

  • I have been with Eversure for a year, and the renewal premium just came in at only £1.50 more than last year for the Gold service.  Well below the premium quoted!  I just hope I don't have to use it if my experience would be the same as described by some others!  At my age (76) I can do without being stranded....
  • Awful company.  Took my money despite knowing the age of my cars.  As soon as one broke down they refused to rescue me as 2 months over their age limit.  Said I could cancel but would get no money back.

I'm going to make a formal complaint + waste their time by requesting a Subject Access Request I'm so angry
