Eversure Car Breakdown Discussion

Hello,Eversure autorenewed for full gold cover at £52.76, which is around £5 cheaper than advertised for new custom. I have never used their recovery nor had any reason to contact them, so I'm not in a position to comment on their service.I have used AutoAid in the past with the similar local recovery operator business model (very good, waited just over an hour near Scotch Corner late on a Friday night and as my vehicle's gears couldn't be repaired at the roadside, both myself and the vehicle were recovered back to my local garage in Edinburgh) so hard to imagine it would be much different, although AutoAid, around £12 per year more, include an advisory service for accidents as standard. As not a vulnerable traveller I am not considered a priority so I doubt AA or RAC would be much quicker. And they are at least three or four times more expensive for the same quoted level of cover. One thing to note, being in Scotland, outside of the big cities larger companies have found it difficult to activate local assistance. When I've relied on my insurance company following a dunt, they have taken over two hours to not be able to commit to when assistance would arrive, and the police had to arrange for my vehicle to be removed from the highway as although in the sticks, it was holding up traffic on an arterial route.Point being, it is hard to see how a company whose business model specialises in finding local operators could be much worse than a larger company with or without its own fleet.I'll get back if I ever have to call on Eversure in earnest.0

Eversure left me stranded on a busy A road with my son, daughter-in-law and her 5 week old baby just before Christmas. It was up on moorlands and windy. They couldn't find anyone to rescue us and I couldn't move my car. In the end I had to call the police and get them to call an emergency company to come and recover me.

Finishing up doing a car boot in a field in the middle of nowhere, everyone else gone & could not find my car key (lone female).
Called Eversure, the bloke was brilliant, very reassuring and also gave advice on when my car gets home.
Got a text right away to say recovery lorry will be there in less than 50 mins and then found my key. Called back to cancel and they were fab. Thank you.Try to help and glad for help from strangers online in forums. No telling strangers online off, no putting them down or point scoring. Getting by.0 -
Unscrupulous. Refused to recover our car that broke down on the motorway, claiming that the car was over 16 years old when it was registered on 1/8/2008. Offered to recover if we paid additional private recovery cost, but couldn't specify what this would be or the cost per mile. Extremely distressing for my wife who was running out of battery on her mobile phone and abandoned on motorway. As a result we had to pay for private recovery. These costs and our policy should be refunded as there has been a breach of contract.0

I tried to buy a policy, on line system failed two cards, live chat - isn't, looking at 48 hour response time. Tried to leave feedback, no way without a policy number. Went to AutoAid instead, instant payment, day earlier cover. Sorted.
You can't rely on a lottery win to pay off your debts....or a long lost aunt come to that;)0 -
My car broke down in a multi-storey car park. I was shocked to discover that I had to pay over £300 towards the recovery cost to get it removed from the car park as this involved the use of what was deemed "specialist equipment". I have since discovered that most, if not all, other insurers would not have imposed this additional charge.

Total frustration!! I am trying to purchase breakdown cover for my car. The website has you fill in all your own details, but does not give any option to add your partner or other secondary driver. Since the car is used by both of us there needs to be some way of adding another driver. At point of purchase there is even a given space on the form for that person's DOB, so it has to be possible.
I need to get in touch with them to ask how to add my partner, but they refuse to give you a phone number and the 'live chat' button they tell you to click on is non-existent.In any case, the website won't forward my query form to their 'skilled agents' BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A POLICY NUMBER YET!!
D'oh!!!

Update: Because I'm a newbie, I can't send you a screenshot of the 'Contact Us' page that still has NO Live Chat link. However, I have noticed that the form has been amended so the policy number is now optional. Seems like they pay attention to feedback on here!
So,I got my query sent off this afternoon. Had the dreaded automatic acknowledgement email (online equivalent of 'unexpectedly high call volumes, you call is important to us') with no hope of getting a reply before tomorrow at the very earliest. They knock off at half five (fair enough) but I started trying to buy cover with them a good seven hours ago.Shame they can't respond to my query before it's no longer relevant. Probably going to have to go with a different provider because the cover is need from tomorrow. (Yes, I know it's a bit sudden. Thought it was included with the car insurance, but was wrong!)If they can't get the application user friendly, or respond promptly to queries, I'm becoming dubious about their response times when I need them anyway.

I used Eversure car rescue last year for the first time. I am renewing with them this year despite them putting the price up £5 to £62. The reason being I had to call them on 22nd December at 22.30 hours & I found their response excellent. The lady at the end of the phone was very courteous & professional. Within 40 minutes a rescue vehicle arrived which took my wife & I the 12 miles back home in a warm comfortable cab alongside the driver with the car on the back. Vety satisfied with the time it took & the service from all concerned.0
