I've found it really hard to get motivated today. Just dailies are done and I've walked the dogs, popped to shop, chemist and vet. Going to read my book now.Spend less now, work less later.10

Good afternoon!
I will try my best this week - thanks for the lists as always Valli & Natty
The weekend flew by! Saturday was spent mainly doing laundry.
Yesterday DD2 & I cleaned up the LR, including dusting off shelves, cleaning windows, etc. in readiness for putting up the decs. The 'kids' did that in the afternoon. I did some food shopping at Mr Al's, and picked up a pressie for one of my littlies. Then I walked the dog & cooked dinner. DW & WM were put on before bed.
This morning I had my mammogram before 9am, Then DH, DS & I popped to town and had a cheeky breakfast
I picked up a couple more presents for minded children, and ordered another when I got home, so they are all done now. I just need to start on family now!!
This afternoon I have tidied the book shelves in the LR (DH's dumping ground), put up a few more decs & put the boxes upstairs, vac'd up all the bits. I still need to clear all my 'stuff' off the dining table. There is a lot of clutter in there! You would think after 3 months off earlier in the year, and 2 weeks isolation a month ago I would have it sorted by now!I would like to clear some of it this week.....
Fayolle well done on getting to the allotment! I passed mine on the way back from the hospital and it is underwater again!
Hugs to those that need them, especially BadCat, Round & Jazee
I am going to spend some time now writing Christmas cards, and dealing with the car tax letter that arrived today (before I can procrastinate & forget it!!)
10 -
Car tax dealt with (tick!)
Sorted out DH's new phone - it only took 2 and 1/4 hours!!
Now to write some cards!!!8 -
Well it took all day but I've finally finished Round 1. Flylady Christmas cards are written.
I've also washed two loads and draped them on the airer, completed an unknown number of laundry shuffles, written and posted birthday cards to a friend and a godson, taken birthday card and flowers to DSil, sorted DS's gas and electricity accounts - so he can sleep tonight (that's the theory anyway), sent a bag of cardboard to a friend to put in her bin because mine is full and sent DS home with a bag of clean laundry.

Hugs to Badcat.
Thanks for the heating vibes; they were partly effective in that we now have a working range i.e. we have cooking and it slightly warms up the water. However the boiler part keeps cutting out, engineer spent about 3hrs mainly lying on the kitchen floor surrounded by tools, wiring diagrams etc - at one point he even phoned the manufacturer in Ireland as well as our previous engineer. Seems they know what part isn't working and he needs to come back.....some time.....take some of it apart and determine which of 2 parts it is. If we are lucky it will be the part which previous engineer has in stock; if we are unlucky he has to order it from Ireland. Still, just having the range on for a couple of hours made the world of difference to the warmth in the kitchen and it gradually spread throughout the downstairs at least.
Spent £26 at Post Office as I'd run out of my usual free stamps, had more presents to post to friends I'd usually meet for a pre-Christmas coffee or meal but obviously can't this year.
Cleared a bit of floordrobe.
I load washing done and hung indoors at it was thick swirling fog today.
Made progress on a report.
Cleared a good bit of the dining room table as we have now organised/done more presents/cards.
Took charity food boxes to the lady who delivers them - she's our local Waterways Chaplain who provides support to our local houseboat-dwellers.
Reassessed my list, added a few more bits but I'm feeling fairly happy at the moment. Not exactly on top of things and I'm desperate to have a good flying session once this blinking heating saga gets sorted and I know there will be no more drilling, men tramping through the kitchen etc.
Various bits of admin done.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Morning, apologies for my absence the Black Dog has been shaking me by the leg quite vociferously. So I am a fully paid up member of WAC today and its time to come back and get the Skint Pit back under control. I felt like I had been working all day yesterday, but not much has been ticked off the official lists.
Skinty's list for yesterday....apologies its mostly been a cat-cleaning day
washed up cat drinking bowls and eating tray (they all share a big tea tray-less mess and less for me to trip over)
litter trays sifted and lined with fresh puppy pad liners
Shark'd sofa and dining chairs to remove pet hair from DFF's
Shark'd the house on all clear runs without moving any furniture
Opened windows and doors and shark'd the door and window runners and seals (with help of an old toothbrush) so free of hair and dander.
Removed visible cat sneezes from downstairs windows with Dettol spray
mini bin bag dance - with a nappy sack for rubbish and a nappy sack for recycling, upstairs and downstairs
rehoming gibble and straightening things x 15 minutes
WUDUPA
descale kettle
1 x WM & TD and PU
I am going to try for some shut eye/rest before everyone wakes up and then I will see what I can get done today
The cold never bothered me anyway9 -
Good morning all
Chilly here but at least that fog seems to have lifted.Christmas cards written so, like Narc0, I need to go and spend a small fortune at the PO after work. Card numbers are being cut year on year, but maybe that’s a sign of getting older.
Getting concerned about DD and her friends, as they are dropping out one by one due to not coping with the world.Work today which is going to confuse me, as that makes tomorrow Friday...actually not such a bad idea.
Hugs, sticks and spoons all round x7 -
Morning all
A grey day here but nothing like as horrid as yesterday as it is much dryer and not foggy.
Fayolle I understand your concerns for your DD, I cannot offer any advice except always being there for her, and I certainly know how hard that can be. We are a few years ahead of you but at a different but critical time for young adults. DD2 finishes the studying part of her engineering masters in less that 2 weeks, and she then has to do a 6 month placement/internship but she hasn't got anything yet and what worries me more is that she is struggling to actually apply for enough. We think she should apply for as many as possible as quickly as possible but she is saying she wants ones that are interesting or might lead to a full time job at the end, she is also very stubborn about area. She argues that she doesn't want to have a job she moans about (like OH, her father), she fails to understand that OH loved his job until very recently and it is changes in very senior managers in the USA that have made it difficult and of course the age (he is 56 she is 22). She is now talking about asking at where OH works as they have loads of engineers and she has worked there before but honestly the thought of her living with us all the time again quite frightens me (she has been away at uni for 5 years).
Sorry moan over, SMILE put back on and I'd better get on with something, anything
Bed made, clothes picked up, windows opened & closed again
WM on
Off to clean out pellet stoves so they can get reloaded and go on.

Morning all
i was late back from work yesterday as I had to go to Beeandemm for stuff for a science experiment and had the usual VAT receipt battle (we don't do those''yes you do there's a button on the right') she still couldn't find it, showed me the screen to prove it and I now know what the button says...it says tax receipt. For the record I have never worked there.
then my sister phoned. Discussion about mum and it now turns out we both don't tell her stuff because she gets so stressed. At least I no longer get daily texts about staying safe.
Anyway today I want to do the kitchen and bathroom and clean the hutch. I would also like to get Christmas gifts wrapped and sorted and I have some admin
Perhaps I ought to get out of 🛌Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
