Morning all, a new week already!
End of last week and weekend seems to have flown by, DD1 came home Thursday night very late and Friday was spent getting all her washing done and catching up with her, Saturday we took old kitchen from rental house to tip which required 2 trips and Sunday was a very long walk to try and loosen up OH's back and then the afternoon putting up decorations, writing Christmas letter and listening to F1. House not untidy for the start of a new week
Ionafan, I think it was you asking about low carb, potatoes, pasta, rice, bread and pastry all contain carbs, the more processed the higher the carbs, but you should also be aware that fruits are also high in carbs. Unprocessed rice (brown rice?) is better than white and wholemeal pasta better than normal. I find low carb works well but I need to keep the protein levels up so eggs are good and nuts can add texture and are good to snack on. I enjoy meals such as big mushrooms stuffed with goats cheese and you could add a slice of bread if you feel you need more, but it is protein that will keep you feeling full longer. I must admit I did stand on the scales this morning so should try and join your OH to lose a few kilos before the end of the year. Just writing this has reminded me of what I need to do.
So far today
Bed made, clothes picked up and windows open
OH has emptied DW
So going to close windows as it's very cold and have some breakfast
See you all later

Morning all
Glad to hear you are still battling on Pigpen I was worried about you. Job finding vibes for Dancemum's DD and generally hoping Monday is OK for everyone.
DH has lost a few pounds for no apparent reason and thinks he is seriously ill - I am more worried about the fact that he thinks this, either he is not telling me something or everything is just getting on top of him a bit (which wouldnt be surprising given that he has had a really tough year). Hoping he rings the docs this morning.
HIIT class done, off for a shower now, lots of paid stuff to do, need to go to the Post Office, and need to introduce the hoover to the carpets. Roast pork for tea, might stick it in SC.10 -

Morning xx
You were not alone Valli - it was 4.18 am when I looked at my clock. I'd stayed up to watch F1 and didn't go to bed until 11.30 so I'm hoping for an 'easy' day today. Pigs might fly!
Which reminds me - good to see you piggers xx I've missed you xx
Everything is definitely getting on top of DS but we had another chat last night and unravelled a little of what is worrying him. He says I should be a counsellor lol. I'm glad he has to work from here today- it means I can keep an eye on him.
GF has been amazing- everything is unpacked and the Christmas tree is up. I still have boxes unopened from the move here in 2003! That's probably what spurred her on- three months of living chez Round brought on an allergy to clutter.
I'm up, made my bed, WM is swishing, I've done a laundry shuffle and I'm having a brew. Going to have to be careful today- pain in the sciatic area will steady me. Ouchie.
Round 1 =
get dressed
feed the birds
put out the recycling
finish writing flylady Christmas cards
Love and best wishes to you all.

Morning everyone. Great to see you posting, pigpen: I was worried about you too.
Thank you to kazwookie and Mademoiselle for carbs advice. It's as I thought. DH is "very set in his ways" and once told something by someone he considers an expert (eg SW consultant) will not be persuaded to change his mind. The hospital dietician promised to put everything in writing but nothing has come through yet. I must remind him to ring her secretary today.
He desperately needs to get himself on the hip replacement waiting list asap, but needs to get his BMI down further.
Thank you Valli for the lists this week. I will be in as much as I can, but I have to spend most of the next few days on church work, which includes going out and seeing people from a sensible distance, and having a phone/Z00m conversation with somebody who has been on 3-month placement with us since mid-September and only just got round to asking me during our busiest time of year [grrrrr!]
The utility is full of Rosie's muddy footprints and dozens of empty boxes from deliveries. Maybe I should persuade DH to take the boxes to the local hospice's eeeByGum warehouse; they are always glad of packaging material.
The study is looking a lot better than it was, but still WIP. Financial check done.
This afternoon we are having a smart meter installed - apart from being MSE, it will save me having to bend over double and contort my body to read the meters which are at the back of the cupboard under the stairs (there is a 180 degree half-landing, so the headroom in the cupboard is only about 4 feet in old money) - and I have to clear out all the coats and shoes beforehand and pile them on/under the DR table. At least I will be able to do a thorough clean and maybe touch up the scuffed walls before putting everything back.
Fingers crossed for Narc0 today, and non-interfering visit and good job finding vibes to dancemum

Morning all
I was also in the WAC due to being in pain, I’ve had pretty much 24 hours of constant agony now, had to call 111 yesterday, Dr advised me to increase dose of meds and to speak to own GP urgently, so dose has been increased, it just takes the edge off for a bit but then it’s back to where it was, called surgery this morning, 45 mins to get through, GP will call me back later....
I called in sick to work, can’t sit at my desk and can’t concentrate on anything so I think it’s for the best. While the pain level is a little lower I’ve very gently pottered about as I have to stay mobile, I made the bed, wrote a few more cards, all finished now as DH did all the ‘joint’ ones yesterday, shuffled some laundry about and made a cuppa.Gentle hugs to all those suffering or in need x10 -

Wm x 1 done. Clean laundry shuffled. QHI. Level 1 kitchen done, that will have to do.
We have a wedding to go to next week. Present wrapped using paper etc from stash, including some wedding ribbon. As I can’t remember the last wedding we went to, that really was an mse find.
DH has just thrown his toys out of his pram. I won’t bore you, but I have now swapped to go to work tomorrow so that I can be in 3 places at one time on Thursday. I can’t say that the thought of us both ever being retired and at home all time is an attractive option atm.
Lots of gentle hugs to Badcat. I hope your gp can help sort your pain x9 -
Been out and done necessary chores, it's foggy and freezing so very glad to be back in the house
Cheque written and photo of it sent to the heating engineer so hopefully he will sort out rental house heating asap
Few bits of shopping picked up to see us through the week, including what I need to get on with redecorating the downstairs loo
Lunch cooking, I'm trying to make potato rosti (grated potato cakes) to have with burgers topped with raclette cheese (very melty gooey cheese) and tomato salad
