    Good morning,

I'm a bit late in joining, but would love to join this thread having read it with avid interest over the past few years.
I have two mortgages and finish my employment end of January (yikes!) so will err on the side of caution of focus on the main residential mortgage to reduce by £5000 this year. Anything on top of that will be a welcome bonus.
So starting off this morning with an OP of £300.
     :)

    **MFW #TBC

    Mortgage start May 2020 £270,000; January 2021 £264,000

    2021 OP £300/£5000

**cannot find the settings to change font size or colour as per other posts. Will work on it.

Welcome to the challenge, it's nice to see a longstanding lurker jump on board <3
    I've given you #79.

#32 back again, another £150 OP for Jan please julicorn.
Great to see you've managed 2 OPs already! Well done. If you could include a total for the month for multiple updates in the future, that would be fantastic, makes my life a little easier and avoids misunderstands :) Don't worry about this one though, all logged!

Monthly mortgage payment went out today, so I couldn't resist a sneaky peak at the account - and its actually showing.  It must have been xmas that stopped the OPs showing up before.  Couldn't resist a cheeky OP (to cover January's interest and make up the capital payment to 1K).  So:

No.29 checking in with another £25 OP - makes a total of £102.05 total for the year smiley

    Thanks Juliecorn.

  • Hello
I would love to join please!

since I had a baby I have been on interest only mortgage payments. It’s my goal to pay of 10 percent of my mortgage each year. So for 2021 this will be approx 11720 pounds ( or just under 1000 pounds a month) I realise this is cheating a bit as I am on interest only and if I was on repayment it wouldn’t be that much of an overpayment but I needed flexibility and so this is the situation I am in. I am really hoping to have my mortgage paid off in 10 years but anything can happen in this time frame so I will focus on this years goal!
  • #59 with another £15 taking me to £205 for January so far.
    Thanks for the updates! 😊
Original mortgage total: £140,000.00 (July 2015) Original mortgage end date: June 2040
Mortgage free start date: 16th October 2018 Mortgage total at this point: £132,829.12
Current mortgage total: £54,762.71 Current mortgage end date: June 2032 Daily interest: £7.59 > £2.64
  • Hello I would like to join please.
Since buying a BTL in July 20; I've gone from having no mortgages (thanks MSE!) to having two (I remortgaged another BTL to fund the deposit on this new acquisition. )

My BTLs are both interest only.
    Mortgage 1 £51,000
    Mortgage 2 £119,000
I'm not going to be throwing all my cash at the mortgages like I did previously to be mortgage free at home as I need to keep an emergency fund as a single Mum of three and especially with the financial implications of the pandemic.

I'd like to aim for £9600 or £800 per month.
    HOME
Original mortgage free date Nov 2037
    Mortgage free August 2018

    Additional properties
    Mortgage 1 £108,000
    Mortgage 2 £45,000
    Teacher pension - DB scheme
    LGPS pension - DB scheme
  • Hi Julicorn,

#121 reporting in with a first op of £270.80

I’m sat all lonely at #121 so if you did want to move me to tidy your sheet I’m more than happy to move. What ever is easiest? Although I’m sure there will be more joining us.

Thank you and let’s nail this year. X
