  • Good morning,

I'm a bit late in joining, but would love to join this thread having read it with avid interest over the past few years.
I have two mortgages and finish my employment end of January (yikes!) so will err on the side of caution of focus on the main residential mortgage to reduce by £5000 this year. Anything on top of that will be a welcome bonus.
So starting off this morning with an OP of £300.
     :)

    **MFW #TBC

    Mortgage start May 2020 £270,000; January 2021 £264,000

    2021 OP £300/£5000

**cannot find the settings to change font size or colour as per other posts. Will work on it.

Here we go again! It’s a New Year, new number of #24 with a new target of £14,000. First payment made this morning and the mortgage has been reduced by a respectable £1,000. Hope to chip away at the outstanding balance during the month. Good luck to all and thanks to JC for running this challenge again.

Yay! Monday morning bank update has been done.
#65 's   first m-o/p of 2021 is  £363.19   which brings me down to £88,200  but  it means I paid under £4.25 a day in interest for the first time! yay!   Wanted to be sub £88k but had car insurances to pay for this month too. Boo!
Next goals are sub £88k, and sub £4.20 a day interest.  Interestingly, The Happy Shanghai Bank Company has started to show monthly debit interest on the statement,  before the payment comes out, so no more extra sums to work it out, just dividing by (x ) days in the month to get a daily figure.    One less thing to have to do!.
    Onwards and downwards

    Happy New Year!
#73 with first overpayment for January of £335.
Sad but I had to wait until the automatic one got there before I posted my amount, don’t think I will manage any more this month.
